Royal Ascot T2 Community Day On Sunday 23 rd April, the Ascot T2 Community day was a huge success with the RACC All Star XI narrowly seeing off the community team 159 to 176. The 1 s will be looking to hit the floor running after narrowly missing out on promotion by just 7 pts last season! Our visitors finished in 6 th place last season 44 points behind the 1s. Whether the 1st XI are chasing or setting a total, Nick Sweetman will be looking to keep his batting form going this season after an impressive haul of 617 last year and a top score of 11*. Andy Murray was the top wicket taker for the senior side last year with 34 wickets and a best of 6/41. Andy English dominated behind the stumps taking a whopping 29 wickets last year! Elsewhere on the field, Nick Sweetman showcased his handiwork with 1 catches. RACC 1 st XI Burnham - Saturday 28 th August 216 The 1s travelled to Burnham 2s who needed points to avoid relegation and included their 1st XI top run scorer in the Home Counties Premier League Aftab Khan. Ascot won the toss and decided to field. Burnham made an impressive 267 for 8 declared off 49 overs built around an innings of 124 by you guessed right Aftab Khan. Ollie Dunnett impressed with 3 for 4, and Andy Murray and Nick Wiggett took 2 wickets a piece. And then it rained. A big thank you to Ascot Racecourse for sponsoring our Senior Teams! After a promotion winning season, batting certainly played a part with Jeremy Wing hitting 418 for the season and 7 different batsmen scoring 5 s. With the ball Saeed Ahmed took the clubs bowling trophy with an impressive haul of 36 wickets including a best of 7/66. It always helps when you have some quality behind the stumps, and Tony King played his part last year taking 12 wickets from behind the stumps. Our visitors today Beaconsfield 2 s finished mid table last year, 34 points off of 2nd spot. With only 1 draw last year, we can expect a good match today. RACC 2 nd XI vs. Boyne Hill 2 With the toss duly won Ascot batted first and despite a strong bowling attack, Ascot managed to reach 191 for7 in 52 overs thanks to 77 from Will Ellison a reinforcement from our 1st XI. And then it rained. So what was happening at Slough where Slough 4s were playing Boyne Hill 2s? Well Slough won the toss and batted first. They scored 214 all out in 45 overs. So Boyne Hill had time to bat but they now needed the win to go up. Boyne Hill 2 reached 65 for 2 off 17 overs. And then it rained. But the 2s got the second promotion spot by 4 points and celebrations all round.

Only 25 points would give them a chance to take 2nd place but Wokingham 3s also only needed 4 points or an abandoned match to go up. The 3s batted first and good all round contributions from the top order helped them reach 25 all out off the 52 overs. Cove s skipper Richard Swannell got the bowling plaudits with 6 for 39. And then it rained. So the 3s ended up 3rd. RACC 3 rd XI Todays Fixture Reading 3 vs. Royal Ascot 3 Today RACC 3 s travel to Reading after a close call with promotion last year finishing 3rd and missing out by 19 points. Ascot 3 rd XI will need to put an extra shift in this season to replace Jack who topped the 3 s fielding wickets with 13 and scored an impressive 726 runs throughout the year. Jack also top scored with the bat last year so our other big hitters including Dan Corsini and Murry Barter will be required to help out. Mike Wyatt took the most wickets with the ball last year with a tally of 36. Reading 3 s were relegated last year in a very tight division with just 8 points separating 1 th and 7 th. They will undoubtedly be looking to bounce straight back into Division 5. The danger man with the bat will be Nat Narayanasamy scoring an impressive 519 for the year. They were at Bagshot 3s who won the toss and decided to bat first. Bagshot made 187 all out off 47 overs, with their leading batsman Richard Rowlett making 94. For Ascot, Tim Howson took an impressive 6 for 65. Ascot then batted and decided to go for it with Chris Nichol making a quick 26 and Cameron Temple 42 but at 7 for 2 off 1 overs it started to rain RACC 4 th XI Todays Fixture Royal Ascot 4 vs. Reading 4 RACC 4 s endured a difficult term last time around but survived with a 7th place finish. Lewis S. bowled well and earned himself the sides top wicket taker. Despite his limited availability James M. top scored with the bat for the 4 s. While John Dunnett brought in the most runs out of the more regular players. Keepers often prove their worth in a side and James Steel and Dan Corsini certainly prove the value of a keeper behind the stumps, both jointly taking the most fielding wickets last season. Reading 4 s also struggled last year finishing the season in 9 th place. In this season RACC 4 s and Reading 4 s drew both games. Delta Force has kindly donated some entry vouchers to the club.
