4 Course Update with Joe Rolstad, Golf Course Superintendent Can you believe it s already July? I know I can t, the month of June seemed to fly by. We have an excellent crew this summer that have been working hard every day to keep the course in great condition. June s mild temperatures and timely rainfall have been excellent grass growing weather it s growing just as fast as we can mow it! Outside of our daily agronomical practices, we are working hard on the bunkers throughout the course; checking sand depth, freshening them up with new sand, and edging bunker faces. We also built and added permanent water bottle coolers on holes 1 and 10. I look forward to July at Fargo Country Club and I ll see you out on the course. Please keep in mind that not only does it repel mosquitos it will also kill plants including turf and flowers. Please be mindful of where you are standing when you apply bug spray. The parking lot is a great area to apply your spray. A special Thank You goes out to all FCC Members and guests who attended the Arne Solberg Cars and Pars Car Show June 28th. (No sign up required, just come ready to play!) We will be holding an additional Child/Young Adult Beginner lesson on Wednesday July 18th. During these lessons kids will be introduced to the game and taught proper techniques through a combination of games and drills. Sign up is required. Food & Beverage News With summer here, our Head Chef, Chery Nordeen has added some fun new items to our dining room menu.

.. Our Jamaican Jerk Pork Tenderloin dish has been a favorite of mine for years.

The tiny restaurant, called the Whistling Bird, which was in a very small town, would pack in celebrities and patrons by the hundreds even on a Tuesday night and be bursting at the seams until close.

The juicy and tender Pork Tenderloin is slightly spicy, but highly flavorful! Its paired with very creamy Coconut Cream Risotto and a colorful Tri-colored pepper blend. Delicious!

Its sprinkled with chevre cheese and served with warmed, seasoned naan bread wedges. This dish is perfect for a vegetarian option or a heart-warming appetizer.

Kids Eat FREE off the kids menu on Tuesdays in the front bar or dining room with the purchase of any adult entrée. Have an event coming up let us know if we can help!

Our Jamaican Jerk Pork Tenderloin dish has been a favorite of mine for years. I am from Moorhead, Minnesota. I am a 2009 graduate of Oak Grove Lutheran high school. After High school, I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor s Degree in Communication Studies in Along with being a student at Concordia, I also was a four-year letter winner in the sport of Golf. Golf has been a huge part of my life because my father Duane Siverson taught me how to play at a young age. That developed into a love for the game throughout junior high into High School. I was fortunate to be part of the 2007 Class B High School Golf State Championship Team. We also finished Runner up in the State tournament in 2008, and After graduating high school in 2009, I began my journey here at the Fargo Country Club. I have been here at the Fargo Country Club since I started working in the bag room, as an outside service attendant. Throughout the years since then, I have done numerous other jobs such as being an assistant in the golf shop, managing the outside service department, tending the shacks and sports bar, as well as bartending and serving for the restaurant. I have now accepted the position of Assistant Food and Beverage Director. I look forward to serving all of you here at the Fargo Country Club.

If children are needing something FUN to do this summer, junior camps are a great way for our young members to experience different areas of the club and make friends with other members. Each day during camp, kids experience: Tennis, Golf, Swimming, Arts & Crafts and Fun & Games. Lunch & Snacks are provided. Camps are for kids ages Members $125/Non-Member Guest $150 per camp Kids are allowed to attend more then one camp. Call the clubhouse for more information.
