Luke showing how it should be done, while some of our Sub Juniors discuss which line they would take. * * * * * * * Trials Club of Canberra 2011 Presentation Night 50 members and guests, a slightly lower number than last year, for all sorts of reasons, none the less had a tremendous evening at the Chisholm Community Centre on Friday November 18 th. Thanks go to Nathan Guinness efforts at co-ordinating the evening, and especially to all of you who helped with the cleaning up. The CCC lady was absolutely delighted with the condition of the venue. Tim Seary Trophy for 2011 Awarded to Nathan Guinness, for his inspirational input to our Club. Many of you will be aware of Nathan s input at Club Days, and his (and Teagan s) assistance with Observing at the Murringo Open Trial. Perhaps his greatest contribution was in finding out about the ACT Government Grants scheme, and then convincing President David Wicks and Secretary David Ault to submit an application. As a result of these efforts we are now well on the way to having our own Strategic Plan being put together with the assistance of Soul Revival s Sue Marriage, who s professional services are paid for by the grant. Observers and Officials Pointscore Secretary David Ault compiled these pointscores on all types of input and assistance, not only at TCC Open Trials and Club Trials, but also where our members have contributed to other Clubs events as well. In view of these combined efforts, Complimentary Club memberships for 2012 were awarded to Dawn Bartlett and David Ault Dave Bingley and family David Waller Mark Walker Nathan Guinness and family Annette Shipley and family Mick Rummery and family. Bob McGlinchy Bob Tindall In addition, David nominated the Bennett family as well. As we are Life Members, I didn t mention this at the Presentation evening. However I would like to acknowledge the efforts put in by Bryan Bennett, who Observed both days at Murringo, acted as assistant Race Secretary and Spare Observer at the Womens Cup, and attended an Officials Seminar to obtain his Officials Licence. * * * * * * *

4 2012 Sherco Womens Cup TCC has taken the very big step of running the 2012 Sherco Womens Cup as a two day Easter Trial on Saturday April 7 th and Sunday April 8 th. Russell Beckett has again made his popular Captains Flat venue available. Wendy Bennett has secured the assistance of her Tuggeranong Australian Rules Football colleagues to do the catering. I ve posted this item on Trials Australia and the TCC Facebook page, and also contacted 41 potential Women competitors across Australia and New Zealand. Bev and myself were impressed with some aspects of the way the South Aussies ran their Womens Cup during Trials Week To this end we are going to run separate classes for the women competitors, and the rest of us will complete in support classes. All we need now is ten Observers each day. Will you be one of them, or more importantly, can you provide one of them. * * * * * * * Trials Club of Canberra Officials Secretary David Ault has asked that we publically acknowledge, and thank, those TCC members who have made the effort to attend MNSW Licenced Officials seminars during 2011, in order to meet the requirements of a new or renewing MA Officials Licence. These are the people that will allow our Club to promote Club and Open events during 2012.

5 Working Bee and Practice Day at Rivendell Saturday 10 th and Sunday 11 th December 2011 Thanks to Mark Walker who stepped up as the co-ordinator, TCC will have a two day Practice Event at Mick Beckett's "Rivendell" property on Saturday 10th December and Sunday 11th December. Help with, and learn about, section clearing and setting on Saturday. Practice on the sections on Sunday, from 10am. David Ault will be the nominated Level 2 Licenced Official. You must be a TCC member to ride at this Permitted event. New members will be able to sign up on the weekend. Please contact Mark on with any enquiries. * * * * * * *

6 SPEA FIM TRIAL World Championship Maldon, Victoria May 26 th and 27 th 2012 For the first time in the history of World Trials Championships, Australia has been granted the right to host two rounds. The event will be held on the large granite outcrops on the western edge of Mt Tarrengower located adjacent to the historic village of Maldon in Central Victoria. Would you like to be involved? The event needs groups of Observers, and I ve been nominated to act as the ACT / NSW contact for interested volunteers. There will be an Observers briefing on the Friday prior to the event at the Maldon site. Once we have all the names and addresses of the observers, a copy of the FIM rules and penalties will be sent out to them. Also in appreciation of their valuable input to the event they will receive an event shirt and cap as well as keeping their official observers bib. I have a spreadsheet for registering potential observers and if you have a group of four who wish to work together then please let me know. Keep in mind that we require 3 observers and one marker per section. The markers responsibility will be to mark the riders card and record their score on a running sheet and possibly write the score up on a white board at the section.
