2 Keeping Fit with Aubie Stretch s Frozen Yogurt Pops Stretch, a measuring tape, is one of Manny s trusty tools. He s a big help when Manny needs to get the job done right. Your little helpers will love making these Stretch-inspired frozen yogurt pops. What you ll need: Wooden spoons, for handles Black ballpoint pen Single-serving yogurt, pink is best (look for healthy yogurt options made with real fruit and low sugar) Mini-marshmallows, for eyes Mini-chocolate chips Red fruit leather, cut into 1/4 squares (choose all natural fruit leather, natural food stores have healthy, low-sugar options) Tin foil Directions: Use a black ballpoint pen to create the tape measure, being careful to write only on the part of the stick that will be exposed. For the yogurt pops, press two mini chocolate chips into two mini marshmallows, for eyes. Remove foil cover from yogurt and press a fruit leather square into the yogurt. Push two marshmallow eyes into yogurt below the fruit leather. Press the wooden spoon tape measure into the yogurt below the eyes -- this is Stretch s mouth. Cover the yogurt with tinfoil, and freeze overnight. When frozen, slide the frozen yogurt pops out of their containers and enjoy! Serving tip: If you are serving to a crowd, create wrappers using wax paper, as shown -- it keeps the pops from getting too messy. They are an adorable birthday party snack! Giant Marbles In this oversize version of the classic game, kids take aim at a collection of sports balls. Number of players: 2 or more What you ll need: Variety of sports balls Rope or chalk To set up: First collect as many balls as you can (soccer, beach, playground, and basketballs), then make a large circle with rope on grass or chalk on blacktop. Place all the balls into the circle and spread them out a little. To play: Players use one ball as the shooter (a heavier basketball or soccer ball works well). Standing 10 feet away, players take turns rolling this ball at the pile to try to knock out as many balls as they can without the shooter s going outside the ring. If a player knocks out any balls, he keeps them ( keepsies in marbles lingo) and gets to go again. When the circle is empty, the player with the most keepsies wins.

4 Shell Koala Creatures Auburn Craft Corner Koala How-To 1. Experiment with different combinations to come up with animal shapes before gluing everything into place. We chose small scallop and clam shells for the koalas, and long razor clams decorated with ring-top cowries for the tree. 2. Use small cushions of polymer clay, which is pliable and slightly sticky, to test out various arrangements. For assembly, a tacky, quick-drying glue works best. Build heads and bodies separately. Before joining larger parts, use a brush to glue on small parts (such as beads for eyes) and clay to support creatures while glue dries.
