The top-ranked Bruin women kick off at 5:30pm, and the second-ranked Bruin men face Santa Clara at 8pm. One ticket gets you into both games. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for youth. In the Rankings For the fourth-straight week, UCLA is No. 1 across all major polls ( NSCAA, Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer). Record-Setting Rowland Goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland has earned a spot at the top of yet another school record, this time tying the school mark for consecutive shutouts in a single season with six, held by CiCi Peterson in Rowland is also just four minutes shy of tying her own school record for consecutive shutout minutes in a single season, 564, set in The senior from Vacaville, Calif. broke Val Henderson s career record of 38 with her 39th against North Carolina and has been adding onto her record total each game and now has 42. Rowland set a school record for single-season shutouts with 15 in 2013, and her previous two years totals also rank in the school s Top 10. Katelyn Rowland (2012) Katelyn Rowland (2014) 650 Numbers and Streaks UCLA in unbeaten in its last 27 games, its last loss coming Sept. 6, 2013 against North Carolina, 1-0, in Durham, N.C. The Bruins have seven-straight shutouts, with the current streak starting in the NCAA Championship game, and have shut out 11 of their last 12 opponents. Stifling Defense Not only has UCLA shut out its first six opponents of the year, but the team has allowed just four shots on goal all season. The Bruins have held three of their six opponents to one shot or less and to just 14 shots all season. The Bruins have held opponents to single-digit shot totals in 17 of their last 18 games and have shut out nine of their last 10 opponents dating back to last year. Scouting the Demon Deacons Wake Forest snapped a three-game losing skid on Sunday with a 2-0 upset win over 13th-ranked Georgetown in the Virginia Tech Tournament, marking the 250th win in Wake Forest program history. Pilar Torre and Riley Ridgik scored for the Demon Deacons, and Lindsay Preston earned the shuout, making seven saves. UCLA and Wake Forest have only met once, in The Bruins won the game at Wake Forest, 1-0. UCLA Wins Outrigger Resorts Soccer Classic UCLA won the Outrigger Resorts Soccer Classic last weekend after shutout victories over Hawaii (6-0) and Pepperdine (2-0). Sarah Killion was named the tournament MVP after totaling two goals and two assists, and five other Bruins earned all-tournament honors - Abby Dahlkemper, Caprice Dydasco, Sam Mewis, Katelyn Rowland and Taylor Smith. Cromwell Earns 250th Career Win With UCLA s win over Pepperdine on Sunday, Bruin head coach Amanda Cromwell earned her 250th career victory. The second-year UCLA head coach is in 18 seasons and currently ranks among the top-25 winningest coaches in NCAA history. Rowland Named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of Week Katelyn Rowland was named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week after tallying two more shutouts to lead UCLA to the Outrigger Resorts Soccer Classic title. She is the third Bruin in as many weeks to receive weekly honors from the Pac-12, joining Defensive Players of the Week Megan Oyster (Aug. 26) and Abby Dahlkemper (Sept. 2). Rowland extended her shutout streak to six to start the season, blanking Hawaii, 6-0, and Pepperdine, 2-0. She faced a season-high five shots in the win over Hawaii and had one save. In the win over Pepperdine, she faced two shots on goal in the first five minutes and saved both shots. Rowland now has seven consecutive shutouts and has held opponents scoreless for 694 consecutive minutes, dating back to last year. Killion Earns Weekly Honors Sarah Killion was named to Top Drawer Soccer s Team of the Week, as well as College Soccer 360 s PrimeTime Performers list for the second consecutive week. Killion moved up to fifth on UCLA s all-time list for career assists with 25. Dahlkemper, Killion Nominated for Senior CLASS Award Seniors Abby Dahlkemper and Sarah Killion have been selected as candidates for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award. The award honors student-athletes for their accomplishments both on and off the field. Dahlkemper, a defender from Menlo Park, Calif., was named the NSCAA Scholar All-America Player of the Year in 2013 and earned Capital One Academic All-District second-team honors. A two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree, she is set to graduate early in Fall 2014 with a degree in sociology. On the field, she is one of the highest-lauded players in the collegiate game, becoming UCLA s first-ever Honda Award winner a year ago, as well as a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, and earning NSCAA All-America honors in each of her first three years at UCLA. Killion, a midfielder from Fort Wayne, Ind., is one of UCLA s top student-athletes, majoring in Psychology and holding a GPA over 3.6. She is also set to graduate early in Fall Killion earned first-team NSCAA Scholar All-American and Scholar All-West Region honors, Capital One Academic All-District second-team acclaim and Pac-12 All-Academic honors for the secondstraight year. Killion, who is in her second year as team co-captain, led the Pac-12 in assists last season with 12, the third-highest total in UCLA history. She currently ranks fifth on the school s career list with 25 assists ROSTER Veteran Group Leads Bruins UCLA is led in more ways than one by its senior class. The No. 1 recruiting class in the nation in 2011 has lived up to its billing and then some, leading the Bruins to the 2013 NCAA and Pac-12 Championships. Eight of the nine seniors - Ally Courtnall, Abby Dahlkemper, Caprice Dydasco, Sarah Killion, Sam Mewis, Megan Oyster, Katelyn Rowland and Rosie White - are in the starting lineup. Three (Dahlkemper, Killion and Rowland) are on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and are returning All-Americans. Dahlkemper is the reigning Honda Award winner. Four (Defensive MVP Courtnall, Killion, Oyster and Rowland) were named to the 2013 College Cup All-Tournament team. Two (Killion and Mewis) were called up to the full U.S. Women s National Team this winter for the Algarve Cup, four (Dahlkemper, Dydasco, Killion, Mewis) played with the U.S. Under-23 team this summer, and Rowland started for the U.S. Under-20s at the FIFA Women s U-20 World Cup.
