The Blue Devils scored 49 points, which are the most since a 51-point performance against on Oct. 22, Duke has scored 40 or more points twice under David Cutcliffe with a 41-point game against Navy last season. When scoring 40 or more points, Cutcliffe has a career record of He is 33-8 when scoring at least 30 points, including 2-0 this season and 5-2 overall with the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils rushed for a season-high 233 yards while passing for 254 in the game. It is the fi rst time since Oct. 27, 2001, against Vanderbilt that Duke has rushed and passed for over 200 yards in a game. The 233 rushing yards were also the most since the Blue Devils gained 218 yards on the ground to open up the season against James Madison. Duke Scores On Opening Drive The Blue Devils have scored touchdowns on their fi rst offensive possession in two straight games. Last week, Duke put together a fi ve-play drive, covering 59 yards that resulted in a touchdown on a 14-yard run by redshirt freshman Patrick Kurunwune. Duke drove 87 yards in just two plays for a touchdown on its fi rst drive at Kansas. Senior Thaddeus Lewis connected with Austin Kelly for a 66-yard pass on the Blue Devils fi rst offensive play.
