FAMILIAR FACES Boise State is one of s most played opponents with 16 prior meetings. Those 16 matches tie for second in USU s all-time opponent list with Idaho and Weber State. leads the all-time series, The Aggies and Broncos have played in the same conference three different times, playing in the Big West, Western Athletic Conference and now the Mountain West. The Aggies have only played Utah more times, with 18 meetings on the pitch. HOMETOWN GIRL freshman defender Jenny De Boer is a native of Meridian, Idaho, just outside of Boise. She will join two other Rocky Mountain High School graduates on the pitch Friday, with Boise State senior midfielder Brooke Heidemann and freshman midfielder Addison Standlee. The three were high school teammates, but played for three different club programs in the area. FRESHMAN STRONG The Aggies welcomed seven freshman to this year s roster, all of whom have quickly made a name for themselves. Midfielder Jordyn Chung- Hoon and defender Kelsey Andersen have both played in all but one match this season, making 15 and 12 starts, respectively. Chung-Hoon leads the freshmen in scoring with one goal and three assists on the year, while forward Sydnie Dolzine has scored two goals. Dolzine and midfielder Alexa Hunt have both seen time in 16 matches. Midfielder Jaylen Hinckley has played in 10 games, while defender Jenny De Boer has played in eight and defender Emma Clark in three. This is the strongest freshman class the Aggies have seen since the 2008 season, a class that featured WAC Freshman of the Year Shantel Flanary, first-team all-wac honoree Chandra Salmon and current USU assistant coach Molli Merrill. MULTI-GOAL MAGIC is this season when scoring multiple goals in a game. The team s season-high came in a 5-3 home win over Idaho State on Sept. 13, the most goals the Aggies had scored in a game since 2004 in a 5-0 win over UC Davis. Two players have had individual multi-goal games this season. Junior midfielder Jayne Robison scored twice in the team s 3-2 win at Fresno State. Junior forward Jessica Brooksby scored her first-career hat trick in the Idaho State match, while scoring two goals in USU s 3-2 victory over Colorado College. FINISHING STRONG As the 2015 season winds down, the Mountain West standings are beginning to cement. San Diego State claimed its fourth-straight regular season conference title with its win at Colorado College on Sunday. New Mexico, originally picked to finish tied for fourth-place, sits in second, while San José State is third. With its win over the Aggies Sunday, Wyoming moved into fourth place, while Utah State is part of a four-way tie for fifth with UNLV, Boise State and Colorado College. Fresno State holds the eighth-place spot, followed by Nevada, Air Force and Colorado State. THE FINAL COUNTDOWN While the regular season comes to a close Friday, there is still plenty to play for as teams battle it out for a spot in the 2015 Mountain West Tournament. San Diego State clinched the regular-season title with its win over Colorado College on Sunday, securing a tournament berth with a league-leading 23 points. New Mexico and San José State are also guaranteed spots at 22 and 21 points, respectively. On the other end of the spectrum, Nevada, Air Force and Colorado State are all mathematically eliminated from the tournament. With a win over Boise State Friday, the Aggies will qualify for tournament play. LEAVING THEIR MARKS As their careers progress, several players have found their names written in the record books. These Aggie players have each had strong seasons this year, adding to their career accolades. With 11 goals this season, junior forward Jessica Brooksby is now tied for fifth on the single-season goals list. With one season still to play, she is tied for sixth-place all-time in career goals scored with 17. After finding a place on the single-game assist list with three against Idaho State, junior midfielder Jayne Robison is ranked on each USU assist list. As a sophomore, she had five during the season, tying for eighthplace. She now has eight career assists, tying for 10th. Just ahead of Robison on that same list is sophomore midfielder Wesley Hamblin, who is tied for eighth with nine career assists. Five of those have been tallied this season, where she now ties for eighth on the single-season list. On the defensive end of the field, senior Jeannie Woller continues to cement her place among the best USU goalkeepers. She holds the single-season save record, tallying 99 2
