Each of the UW s losses have come by five points or less and the Badgers have held a second-half lead in four of those contests. lost by five points at UNLV, by four to Weber State, by three to both Hawaii and Temple, and by one at Georgia Tech. DOUBLE THREAT - Freshman Devin Harris recorded the first double-double of his career Monday night against Temple, registering career highs in both points (21) and rebounds (13). It was the first double-double by a Badger this season and the first since Andy Kowske had 14 points and 10 boards against Purdue on Feb. 7, Harris is the first UW guard to record a points-rebounds doubledouble since Feb. 18, 1998 when Hennssy Auriantal had 12 points and 10 rebounds against UW-Milwaukee. DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE - Sophomore Freddie Owens and freshman Devin Harris scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, against Temple, establishing career highs. Coach Ryan is also available postgame in the media room. OHIO NOTES Ohio is 2-0 this season heading into tonight s game at DePaul. Senior forward Brandon Hunter, a first-team all-mac selection last year, is averaging 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds this season. The Bobcats return all three of their frontcourt starters from a team that went last season, tied for third in the Mid-American conference. TEAM NOTES BOMBS AWAY - Freshman Devin Harris attempted a school-record 20 threepointers against Temple on Monday night. Harris also broke the previous Big Ten record of 19 set by Iowa s Chris Kingsbury vs. Long Island on Dec. 17, The UW s 40 three-point attempts as a team was also a school and conference record. held the previous Big Ten high with 37 three-point attempts against Missouri on March 19, IRON MEN - Four UW players, Devin Harris, Mike Wilkinson, Travon Davis and Charlie Wills, played at least 40 minutes in Monday s double-overtime loss to Temple. The last time that happened at the UW was in the Badgers triple overtime loss to Indiana on Feb. 16, 1987 with Tom Molaski (53), Mike Heineman (50), Trent Jackson (46) and J.J. Weber (44) each logging more than 40 minutes. Harris led the way with 47 minutes played against the Owls, the most by a Badger since Michael Finley played 49 against Purdue on Feb. 13, 1993, a Boilermaker win in two overtimes. BIG ON THE GLASS - Guard Devin Harris grabbed 13 rebounds against Temple, his career high and the most for a Badger since Andy Kowske had 14 against Fresno State on March 16, Harris 13 boards were the most for a Badger guard since Michael Finley had 13 as a freshman against Michigan on Feb. 26, Finley, who was listed at 6-7, played guard as a freshman then moved to forward his final three seasons at UW. HANDLE WITH CARE - The Badgers starting backcourt of Travon Davis and Devin Harris combined for just one turnover in a combined 89 minutes against Temple s pressure defense on Monday night. The duo is averaging one turnover for every 20 minutes played this season. Davis is currently third in the Big Ten in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.38). That would tie him for third all-time at UW for a season. MR. VERSATILITY - Freshman Devin Harris is currently ranked in the top 15 in the Big Ten in scoring, free throw percentage, three-pointers made and blocked shots. He leads in those categories as well as minutes played (36.1), field goal attempts (80), three-point attempts (50), free throws (25) and free throw attempts (30). He is also second on the squad in assists (12) and steals (eight). IN THEIR DEFENSE - is allowing its opponents an average of 65.4 points a game, third in the Big Ten. Only two teams, UNLV (74) and Weber State (73), have scored more than 70 points against the Badgers this season. BALANCING ACT - Six players are averaging at least seven points a game for the Badgers. Three players, Devin Harris (15.1), Freddie Owens (11.1) and Kirk Penney (10.6) are averaging in double figures. Mike Wilkinson is contributing 9.7 points off the bench while seniors Charlie Wills and Travon Davis are at 7.9 and 7.6 points per game, respectively. MARKSMEN - Both Travon Davis and Devin Harris are among the conference leaders in free throw percentage. Harris has connected on 25 of his 30 attempts (.833), good for fifth in the Big Ten. Davis is from the line (.818), tied for eighth. Davis was a career 50 percent free throw shooter (42-84) entering this year.

The Badgers rallied from a 14-point second half deficit to take a six-point lead with 1:27 left. Temple got the ball down three points with 26 seconds left and Greer connected from diwntown with 11 seconds remaining. In the first OT, Greer drilled a trey with :0.3 on the clock to extend the game. HELP OFF THE BENCH - Sophomore Freddie Owens and freshman Mike Wilkinson are providing the Badgers with a spark off the bench this season. Owens is second on the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game while Wilkinson is fourth at 9.7. Wilkinson is also second on the team with 5.7 rebounds a game. Wilkinson and Owens are averaging 29.3 and 25.9 minutes, respectively. The UW is outscoring its opponents by almost six points a game ( ) off the bench. CAREER HIGHS - This season, seven Badgers have set or tied career highs in points. Sophomore Freddie Owens (23) and freshman Devin Harris (21) set personal bests against Temple on Monday. Senior Travon Davis scored a careerhigh 14 points at Georgia Tech while freshman Clayton Hanson lit the scoreboard for the first time, draining a three-pointer. In the UW s loss to Weber State, freshman Mike Wilkinson came off the bench to record a career-high 12 points. Against Hawaii-Hilo, freshman Neil Plank scored the first points (five) of his college career while senior Charlie Wills matched his career best with 15. LOGGING SERIOUS MINUTES - Six Badgers are averaging at least 25 minutes a game this season. Devin Harris leads the team at 36.1 minutes per game, while Travon Davis is at Charlie Wills and Mike Wilkinson are averaging 29.9 and 29.3 minutes, respectively. Kirk Penney (28.3) and Freddie Owens (25.9) round out the UW s top six. Seven of the Badgers top eight players have established career highs for minutes played this season. STATE PRIDE - The Badgers kicked off their three-game set against in-state, Division I opponents with a win over UW-Green Bay on Saturday. hosts Marquette on Dec. 22 then travels to UW-Milwaukee on Dec. 27. The Badgers have swept their state rivals in each of the last two seasons, last year defeating UW-Green Bay 61-53, UW-Milwaukee and Marquette PRIME TIME PERFORMER - Senior point guard Travon Davis scored a career-high 14 points and equalled his career best with seven assists in the Badgers game nationally televised game at Georgia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. He also led the UW with six rebounds, one shy of his personal best. FOR STARTERS - The Badgers have used the same starting lineup for all six games this season, tipping off with seniors Travon Davis and Charlie Wills, junior Kirk Penney, sophomore Dave Mader and freshman Devin Harris. HELMIGK OUT - Freshman forward Andreas Helmigk tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in preseason practice and will miss the entire season. Surgery is scheduled for late November. Helmigk s injury leaves the Badgers with just eight healthy scholarship players entering the season. SENIOR LEADERSHIP - Seniors Travon Davis and Charlie Wills were named co-captains prior to the season. CAL WHO? - Senior Charlie Wills has never missed a game (104 straight) in his UW career. NO GIMMES - After having the third-toughest schedule in the country last year according to the Sagarin ratings, the Badgers face another tough slate in In addition to the always-grueling Big Ten schedule, travels to UNLV, Xavier, Georgia Tech, Ohio and UW-Milwaukee while hosting Temple, Tennessee, Marquette, UW-Green Bay and Furman. EXPERIENCE LOST - Five seniors from last year s team have departed, including four starters. Those seniors accounted for 65 percent of the team s minutes played, 64 percent of the points, 61 percent of the rebounds and 74 percent of the assists last season.
