Exhibitors who advertise their skills in the medium being exhibited, teach classes for a fee in the medium being exhibited, or earn a considerable portion of their income from sales of the medium being exhibited should use the professional class numbers. Integrity is appreciated. Each category in the Fine Arts and Crafts Department will have 3 divisions: Professional, Amateur, and Junior. Children and youth 15 and under may exhibit in any class number. All entries entered in amateur and professional classes will be judged by adult standards. 2. All work must be original (not copies) work of the exhibitor; completed within the past five years and not previously entered. Exhibitors will be limited to not more than two items per class number. 3. Artwork other than photos must be mounted for hanging on mats, stretcher bars, or framed. Artwork not properly ready to hang will be displayed at floor level. 4. Age of all exhibitors using a Junior number must be noted. Ribbons will be awarded based on age. No exhibits from professionals will be accepted Rules 1. Each exhibitor may enter up to 2 exhibits per class, with a total of no more than 10 black and white exhibits and no more than 10 color exhibits, which includes digital photos and the color grouping classes. 2. The name of exhibitor shall not appear on the face of

14 the mount. No dates may be printed on photos. 3. All prints must be a minimum 8X10 inches; and maximum 16x20 inches. The five groupings color photos must be 4x6 inches. 4. All prints must be in or on a photo mount or heavy flat cardboard not to exceed 16x20 inches. Framed prints will not be accepted. 5. Only one print per mount will be accepted 6. 16 Department C Farm Products Rules 1. All farm products must be grown in the county. In the junior division, the person entering must have taken an active part in growing the exhibit. 2. Previously exhibited items cannot be shown again to compete for prizes. With the exception of the largest watermelon and pumpkin. 3. Farm products are judged their fitness for eating and their uniformity in size. 4. Preparing Exhibits a. Cucumbers and squash should have 1/2 stems b. Tomatoes should have their stems removed for exhibit c. Onions should have longer stems, no double core, and don t peel too much of the outer layers off. 5. See insert for other information. 25 Department D Flowers Rules 1. Entrants should furnish their own containers at their own risk. Container should be appropriate for the exhibit. Suitability of the container and arrangement will be considered in judging. 2. Please clean up the flowers and plants on your entries, no dried leaves, etc. Make everything eye-catching to the judge. 3. Names of the flowers should be on each container as well as the number of the class in which they are to be entered, OR be present to give us the information. 4. More than one entry may be exhibited in each lot. Rosette ribbons will be awarded to: Outstanding Floral Arrangement Outstanding Plant Outstanding Youth Exhibitor (Ages 18 and Under) 5. All entries must be home baked and the product of the exhibitor. 4 H members are asked not to enter food which is a duplicate of their 4-H entries 4. All exhibitors must be residents of Thayer County. 5. All entries must be from scratch and not from any commercial packaged... mixes. 6. All entries should be plain, without frosting of any kind, except for classes 510 and Bread entries should be baked in individual pans and be 24 hours old at the time of judging. 8. Muffins should be entered without paper baking cups 9. Cakes should be entered on a flat surface, rather than a curved plate and should be a single 8 or 9 inch layer. 10.
