(1 month memberships cannot be canceled) MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION Members found abusing the facility or breaking the code of conduct will have their membership terminated. The Municipality of Kincardine reserves the right to terminate memberships without refunds for time lost. HOLD POLICY Members may request a membership hold once per year for a maximum of 5 months. 30 days notice is required to hold your monthly pre-authorized payment. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a person over the age of 14. Children under the age of 5 and those who are unable to complete the facility swim test must be accompanied by someone over the age of 16 and remain within arms reach at all times in the water. The facility swim test consists of a 30m swim where the swimmer must maintain a horizontal position on their front. Caregivers will start in the water for the first few weeks until the child is able to attend alone. 11 ADVANCED TRAINING & COURSES BRONZE MEDALLION - EMERGENCY FIRST AID WITH CPR B The Bronze Medallion course develops physical fitness, decision-making and judgment skills for water rescue. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk. PREREQUISITE: 13 Years Old OR Bronze Star. WHEN August 13-24, :00pm - 7:00pm COST BRONZE CROSS - STANDARD FIRST AID WITH CPR C The Bronze Cross course teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding. It includes the principles of emergency procedures, teamwork and the use of special equipment. An introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. The course is 40 hours in length and includes scanning techniques, physical principles, victim management, lifeguard and the law, an introduction to filtration systems and pool chemicals. In order to complete the course, candidates must perform a timed swim (400m in 10 minutes), a 50m sprint in 60 seconds, 15m underwater swim, retrieve a 20lb brick from the bottom of the pool in 40 seconds and recover a submerged victim with a 25m approach and tow in 90 seconds. 100% attendance is mandatory to complete the course. PREREQUISITE: 16 years old, Current Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid with CPR C. Candidates are introduced to key principles of learning and teaching while they master basic progressions. The roles and responsibilities of instructors and their assistants including the principles of healthy child development are emphasized. Candidates must complete 18 apprenticeship hours during the course. PREREQUISITE: 15 years old, Bronze Cross, 100% attendance is mandatory. 14 SUMMER DAY CAMP ABOUT CAMP Have a blast this summer at the Municipality of Kincardine Summer Day Camp! Experience a wide variety of camp activities throughout the whole summer including; offsite trips and excursions, crafts, games, swimming, special guests, skating, and so much more! Theme weeks offer entertaining and creative every day activities. Our facilities offer campers a diverse camp environment including acres of green space, hiking trails, soccer fields, playgrounds, splash pad, swimming pool, arena, and gym facilities. Campers join our High Five! Trained and First Aid Certified camp staff for a fun, exciting summer! Parents will receive a Parent Information Package upon Registration with more details. 15 SUMMER DAY CAMP INFORMATION DROP-OFF & PICK-UP Children must be signed in and out daily by approved guardian or caregiver. Only adults listed will be permitted to pick-up children. Please notify the Camp Coordinator if this changes throughout the day. There will be a $10 late fee charge for every 10 minutes after 5:00pm pickup time. WHAT TO BRING? Please bring; Peanut-free lunch and snacks for each day, reusable water bottle, bathing suit and towel, change of clothes (highly recommended for Munchkins), and sunscreen. MEDICAL INFORMATION We ask that all medical information be provided at the time of registration on the Participant Information Sheet. SAFE ARRIVAL PROGRAM Safety is our number one priority at camp! If you know your child will be late or absent please notify the Camp Coordinator. Every absent camper will receive a phone call home daily if they are absent (without notification). AGE REQUIREMENTS & SUPERVISION Campers must be 4 years of age by their first day of camp. All participants must be fully toilet trained by the start of camp. Maximum participant numbers are determined by the number of staff, based on ratios. We adhere and do not make exceptions to these numbers, in order to ensure the safe supervision of our program. The Municipality of Kincardine Summer Day Camp follows High Five s, Principles of Health Child Development safety and supervision standards. INCLUSION PROGRAM If your child requires any additional supports or accommodations please contact the Inclusion Coordinator ext 7307 or Office at SWIMMING All campers enjoy 1 hour of swimming three times per week. Swim times/dates are subject to change and/or cancellations. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT OPTIONS All campers must complete a Participant Information Sheet, Offsite Form & Photo Release before attending Summer Day Camp. We accept weekly registrations only. If space is available after the start of each week, participants may be registered at a pro-rated rate. Payment Options Now accepting credit cards! Along with cash, Cheque and Debit is accepted in person at the Recreation Office during Office Hours. Cheque or Cash is accepted in the drop-box outside of regular Office Hours. Credit card is accepted over the phone or via ONLY if all forms are received with credit card information. Full payment must be made at the time of registration, or with posted dated cheques. No exceptions will be made. Refunds & Credits To cancel camp registrations, notification in writing must be received by the Administrative Assistant, Financial Assistant or the Recreation Supervisor. 16 OUR FACILITY DAVIDSON CENTRE INDOOR WALKING TRACK The Davidson Centre operates an indoor walking track facility that is open for use during operating hours. The track is free to use however donations are welcome in the donation box located in the foyer of the track. Our indoor track is perfect for use during the winter months when the snow can make recreational walking quite difficult. Our bright, clean and modern track awaits! 9 Laps = 1 Kilometer. GYMNASIUM HOURS 6am - 11pm Sunday to Saturday Closed on Statutory Holidays DIRECTION OF TRAVEL Counter-Clockwise: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday & Friday Clockwise: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday RULES & REGULATION Walkers on the inside lane. Indoor shoes are mandatory. Strollers & assistive walking devices must be clean. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the track. PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS Kincardine Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any program that fails to meet minimum registration numbers. Participants will be offered a full refund, or a credit on account to be used on any of our other programs offered. JUMPSTART Jumpstart gives kids a sporting chance. Kids aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. Jumpstart knows that physical activity isn t just about soccer fields, ice rinks, karate mats and baseball diamonds. Physical activity is the key to what we fund. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS When cancelling a facility rental or program registration you must notify the Davidson Centre in writing.
