The Aztecs will host San Jose on Thursday, Nov. 13, for a 6:00 p.m. match on Aztec Court in Peterson Gym. Two days later (Saturday, Nov. 15), SDSU will square off against Nevada at 6:00 p.m. on Aztec Court. Both the San Jose State and Nevada matches will have live video streaming on the Internet. Thursday s contest will be on the Mountain Digital Network while Saturday s match will have live video on the SDSU web site. Live video links for both contests may be accessed at the San Diego State athletics web site ( SERIES RECORDS The Aztecs have a mark of 17-8 against San Jose State in a series that dates back to SDSU downed the Spartans in three sets in San Jose last month. The teams both won on their home floors during the 2013 campaign. Prior to that the teams had last met in 2009 at The Invitational in Seattle and prior to that had not squared off since the 1998 campaign. SDSU has a record of 9-2 vs. the Spartans in San Diego, 5-6 in San Jose and 3-0 on neutral courts. San Diego State all-time record vs. Nevada is 3-3 with the teams having met on only six previous occasions. The Wolf Pack defeated the Aztec in four sets in Reno in mid-october. Last season the Aztecs split matches with the Wolf Pack, winning on Aztec court and falling in Reno. SDSU also split contests with Nevada during the 2012 season. The Aztecs other victory in the series came in three sets during the 2011 Aztec Invitational in San Diego. HEAD COACH DEITRE COLLINS-PARKER San Diego State head coach Deitre Collins-Parker is in her sixth season with the Aztecs after being named the fourth head coach in program history prior to the 2009 campaign. Her record at SDSU is (.563). She previously served as head coach at UNLV for eight seasons ( ) and at Cornell for five years ( ). Her 18-year career record stands at (.493). A three-time All-American as a player at the University of Hawai i, she led the Rainbow Wahine to consecutive national titles ( ) and was named the national player of the year twice. She was a member of the U.S. Olympic Team and competed at the Goodwill Games and Pan Am Games prior to playing professionally in Europe for four years. She is one of six players named to the NCAA Division I Women s Volleyball 25th Anniversary Team in October 2005 and was inducted into the AVCA Hall of Fame in the fall of During the summer of 2014 she led a Mountain West all-star team on a tour of Europe that concluded with a bronze medal third-place finish at the 2014 European Global Challenge in Pula, Croatia.

2 SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS San Jose State enters the week with a record of 4-22 overall and 1-12 in the Mountain West. The Spartans league win over Fresno State on Oct. 30 ended a 10-match losing streak. San Jose State is led by outside hitters Tyanna Roy (3.13 kps, 0.41 bps) and middle blocker Nandyala Gama (3.10 kps, 0.41 bps). Libero Yavianliz Rosado is third in the league in digs (4.08 per set). Nevada record stands at 7-16 (4-9 Mountain West) and it has dropped five of its last seven matches. The Wolf Pack will play at UNLV Thursday evening prior to facing the Aztecs on Saturday. Top offensive players in include Tessa Lea ea (2.94 kps, 1.16 bps) and Madison Morell (2.50 kps, 1.86 dps). Sam Willoughby leads the conference in service aces at 0.39 per set. AIKEN GETTING OFFENSIVE Junior outside hitter Halle Aiken recorded career high of 20 kills, 20.0 points and 67 attacks in the match at New Mexico last Saturday (Nov. 8). She notched her third career doubledouble with 12 digs in that match as well. In last week s two contests she averaged 4.29 kills per set. Aiken has averaged 3.48 kills over the past six matches while recording double figures in that category in each contest. She also hit a personal season-best.486 with no attack errors in the win at Fresno state on Oct. 23. She recorded her sixth double-double of the year with 47 assists and 13 digs in the win over Wyoming on Nov. 1. The double-double was her third in four matches. She has recorded at least one kill in every match since becoming the Aztecs starting setter on Sept. 19 at Alabama. She matched her career high with 51 assists in the four-set-set win at Fresno State on Oct. 23. She set career highs with 51 assists, 17 digs and two service aces in the win over New Mexico on Oct. 9. O HARA AT THE NET Redshirt freshman Cassie O Hara has averaged 1.00 block per set over SDSU s past six matches. During that same span she is hitting at a.385 clip. She posted career highs of two service aces and an assist in the match at Air Force last week (Nov. 6). O Hara recorded career highs of eight kills and five block assists in the win over UC Irvine on Oct. 27. She also turned in a.800 hitting percentage in that match with no attack errors. She has appeared in 13 matches this season including seven starts and is hitting.336 in those contests. STEEL S HOT HAND Senior right side hitter Chaiymin Steel registered a career-best 20 digs in the contest at New Mexico last weekend (Nov. 8). In last week s two matches she averaged 4.71 digs per set. Her 15 kills, 14 digs and 17.5 points in the match vs. Wyoming on Nov. 1 tied her career highs. The double-double vs. Wyoming was her second of the season (and career). She also matched her season best of five blocks in that contest. She recorded her first career doubledouble with 10 kills and 11 digs in the five-set win over New Mexico on Oct. 9. She led the team with 12 kills in the win over Air Force (Oct. 11), finishing with 16.0 points and two service aces in the win over the Falcons. CAGE CONSISTENT Redshirt freshman Alexis Cage recorded a career-high 19 kills and 19.5 points in the win over Wyoming on Nov. 1. At the time it was the most kills in a match by an SDSU player this season. She had her best overall outing as an Aztec in the contest at Nevada last week (Nov. 16) when she registered a doubledouble with 13 kills and 12 digs. In the win at San Jose State on Oct. 18 she turned in her season-best.571 hitting percentage. Cage made her season debut in the third set vs. Fresno State on Sept. 27 after having missed the Aztecs first 10 matches of the season with a foot injury. She is the daughter of former SDSU basketball All-American and NBA player Michael Cage. BOLDEN IN THE BACK Defensive specialist Dani Bolden had a career-high five service aces in the win over Wyoming ast weekend (Nov. 1). Her 5.0 points in the contest was also her personal best She had a streak of having recorded a kill from the back row in five consecutive matches end vs. Wyoming on Nov. 1. Bolden turned in a career-best 14 digs in the contest vs. No. 7 Colorado State on Oct. 30. SABA AT LIBERO Redshirt freshman Alexa Saba has averaged 4.00 digs per set over SDSU s last 13 matches. She recorded 20 vs. Wyoming on Nov. 1, one shy of her career best. She set her career high with 21 digs in the match against New Mexico on Oct. 9. She tied her career high of four assists in three straight matches (Oct. 27-Nov. 1), a streak that ended during the contest at Air Force last Thursday (Nov. 6). Saba assumed the role of starting libero beginning with the second set in the match vs. Alabama on Sept. 19. In that contest and the ensuing match vs. Florida International she averaged 4.43 digs per set. SANDBERG HITS NEW HIGHS Junior middle blocker Kaja Sandberg returned last weekend after having missed the previous week s matches vs. Colorado State and Wyoming due to injury. She played in only four sets over the last two matches ( one at Air Force, three at New Mexico), but averaged 1.25 blocks per sets in those contests. PRITCHARD SHOWS VERSATILITY Freshman defensive specialist Devyn Pritchard turned in 12 digs at New Mexico last Saturday (Nov. 8), her second-highest output of the season. It marked her fourth double-figure dig effort of the 2014 campaign. Her 12 digs in the win over Wyoming on Nov. 1 was her highest output since recording 13 vs. Villanova on Sept. 6. Her 3.0 points in the contest also matched season high. In the match vs. Air Force on Oct. 11 she finished with three assists and three service aces, both personal bests.

Kaja Sandberg s mark of 1.01 blocks per set ranks 14th while her.264 hitting percentage is 17th. Courtney Eckenrode ranks eighth in assists (9.65 per set). Dani Bolden is seventh in service aces at 0.26 per set. Alexa Saba is 10th in digs at 32.4 per set. In league-match stats, Aiken is 12th in kills (2.93 kps). Eckenrode is fifth in assists at per set. Sandberg s.259 hitting percentage ranks 17th. Bolden s mark of 0.31 service aces per set places her eighth. Jensen Cunningham is 10th in service aces at 0.30 per set. Alexa Saba is fifth in digs at 4.04 per set. HOME SWEET HOME Over the past three-plus seasons, San Diego State has compiled a record of 43-8 (.843) on Aztec Court in Peterson Gym. The facility was renovated this past summer with a new floor along with new bleachers and doors plus the addition of a 25-foot ceiling fan. ALL-TOURNAMENT I Senior right side hitter Chaiymin Steel was named to the all-tournament team at the season-opening Chevron Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu played Aug Over the Aztecs three matches she averaged 1.82 kills, 2.09 digs and 0.36 blocks per set while also recording a pair of service aces. ALL TOURNAMENT II Junior outside hitter Halle Aiken was named to the all-tournament team at last weekend s Crimson-White Tournament at the University of Alabama. Over SDSU s three matches she averaged 3.00 kills, 2.30 digs, 0.70 blocks and 0.50 service aces per set. STAFF CHANGES SDSU has added two assistant coaches and a Director of Player Development to their 2014 coaching staff. Kevin Maureen Campbell joins the SDSU program after one season as an assistant ast the University of Colorado. An allregion player at Nebraska-Omaha, Campbell has been a member of the collegiate coaching ranks for 15 years including stints at Penn State, Georgia and UNC-Charlotte. Holly Goode joins the Aztecs as the volunteer assistant coach. She earned all- East Region honors at George Mason and coached at High Performance Camps in Virginia for six years. She was most recently coached at the Sunshine Volleyball Club in Manhattan. Carol Hamilton has been appointed the program s Director of Player Development after a caret hat saw her play at Cal State Dominguez Hills as well as professionally in Europe. She is currently head coach and director of Beach Dig in San Diego, which runs sand volleyball camps and training programs in Florida and California. She also serves as a coach with the La Jolla Volleyball Club and is a volunteer coach with the USA Women s National Team in Anaheim. RECRUITING CLASS San Diego State s 2014 volleyball recruiting calls has been ranked 25th in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com. The group of five incoming players includes Jensen Cunningham, 6-4 MB, Horizon (Scottsdale, Arizona); Courtney Eckenrode, 5-7 S, The Woodlands (Texas); Deja Harris, 6-2 MB, Calvary Chapel (Las Vegas, Nevada); Leslie Pease, 5-11 S/OH, Roseville (California); and Devyn Pritchard, 5-7 Libero, Temescal Canyon (Lake Elsinore, California). Both Eckenrode and Harris were named their state s Gatorade Player of the Year while Cunningham was an all-state and All-America honoree. Eckenrode, a 5-9 setter, led The Woodlands to an undefeated season and Texas 5A title last fall and was named Texas Gatorade Player of the Year as well as National Player of the Year from MaxPreps and USA Today. Harris was named the 2013 Nevada Gatorade POY and a PrepVolleyball.com Senior Ace. Harris is a gifted athlete who has natural blocking ability and will add to the team s offensive production. The third Senior Ace in this recruiting class is 6-3 MB Cunningham, who led her loaded high school team with a.399 hitting percentage while spending some of the season attacking on the outside. Rounding out the recruiting class is 951 Elite libero Devyn Pritchard (all-league, all-area) and 5-11 Force Volleyball S/OH Leslie Pease (all-league).
