3 MATCH NOTES YOUTH & EXPERIENCE? LA Tech enters 2017 with a unique look to this year s roster. The Techsters return nine players from last season, while also bringing in seven new faces. the squad is balanced in this way, but lopsided in terms of class. Four seniors and 11 combined freshmen and sophomores makes for an interesting mix, but fall camp has shown that the players are all willing to step up and lead, regardless of class. MONNE POISED FOR BIG SENIOR CAMPAIGN In 2016, Marta Monne posted one of the most complete all-around seasons in LA Tech history. The oustside hitter stepped up and played libero when needed and finished the season with 309 kills and 317 digs. Her numbers put her alongside elite company among conference leaders as one of two C-USA athletes to put up 300+ kills and 300+ digs. Monne also ranked fourth in the league with 13 triple-double efforts. THIRD SET HEROES Last season, Tech showed resolve in third sets, claiming victories in 16 of 30. They outscored their opponents ( ) during that span. The Lady Techsters second best mark came in the fifth set, where they finished 2-2, outscoring their opponents in the do-or-die frame.
