Ralph has new landscaper suggested by Sean O Neil to quote rework of Kent Lake and Brummer. Need them to also quote Salem. They suggested to Ralph to do work in summer so as to not create ruts with the equipment. We may need to close individual fields a week at a time to get the work completed. Lightning Landscape quoted $2,400/field. Need to have Salem and Brummer first on that list. Bollinger wants to be in loop of any work we will be doing on fields. This project is on hold until approval from Mr. Bollinger. Bob Martin of South Lyon Maintenance is supportive of sprinkler system and outfield fencing at McHattie. There will need to be Grants to help and Guido is the chairperson for this endeavor. Park s & Rec gave presentation to City Council in development of Volunteer Park. Dean will continue to be the SLJL front man in these meetings. Parks & Rec conducting first meeting on Feb 22 at 6:30 pm at Millenium Middle School. Meetings will be the 1 st and 3 rd Mondays of each month. Lacrosse is no longer going to use flat fields near Lyon Township Fire Station. Will be using flat area beyond outfield at Millenium softball field. This will allow possibility to develop 2 baseball fields at Atchison Park. Ralph, Dean, and Sean met with Scott Gierlach of Lyon Twp to discuss building of 2 baseball fields behind fire department at Atchison Park. Meeting to be set up in coming weeks for building of fields at Atchison Park, per Sean O Neil. Waiting on Sean for updates. Sean stated that Twp had meeting in end of January and that Dean would be presenting our views in February meeting at Twp Hall. Nothing new on Township Meetings.

5 Don Beagle has reached out to the SLJL for input on design of new baseball field at new elementary school in Lyon Twp. School to open Fall of Ralph brought up for discussion the idea of SLJL purchasing a piece of land to build our own complex. Discussion to continue in upcoming meetings. Ralph will attend Salem Twp meeting in March to discuss possible new baseball fields. Deb informed Board that Chalk has gone from $4.40/bag to $4.75/bag this year. We need to purchase 2 sets of 3 bases for upcoming season. Deb to go to Lowes to pick up misc tools to stock field boxes. Board approved all of the items in this note. Scheduling Make sure we account for Salem Flag Day in future years. It is usually the first week in June each year. All future Championship games to be scheduled at High School Fields. For 2016 we can t schedule Koufax, Reese, and Mays playoff games or Palomino games on same day. We do not have enough qualified umpires. Ken will send all future game and time changes to Deb and Duane prior to sending to Trustee s & Webmaster. This will allow verification of available umpires. Will have Max of 8 teams and Minimum of 4 teams in Divisional Playoff Brackets. No more than 50% of Division to be in Playoffs. Consolation Bracket Playoffs can be scheduled if enough teams are interested. This is for the teams that did not make Playoffs. There will be Friday and Saturday games this Spring Season. Spread the word that this is going to happen. Some divisions will have games spread over 3 days of the week which will include either Friday or Saturday games. SLEHS fields are available on Fridays and Saturdays due to Girl s Travel being at Weekend Tournaments. We will need to take advantage of these fields. Ken and Ralph need Travel Field assignments as soon as available, no later than 3/16/16

6 Website T-Ball Day Umpires Jen Schiller is starting to publish on Twitter and Facebook. Any info you would like to see out there on social media please get it to Jen. Our numbers are increasing every week on Facebook and Twitter. Need additional Face Painter next year. Create handout for event to explain how T-Ball Day works. Organize with city to possibly utilize bounce houses for movie night on same day. Next year consider the following for Pink Out Days; 1. Take donations at game sites, something like Coins for Cancer 2. Educate players and parents of cancer risks 3. Have expert personnel on site to hand out literature and answer questions. 4. Possible Men s Cancer Day (Powder Blue) to be considered in future. Will be taking much harder stance with Coach-Umpire interaction beginning next Spring.
