1 USSVI Awards and Recognition 2007 Individual Member Awards *Joe Negri Award: (Dominic "Joe" Negri is considered the Primary Founder of USSVI). This is awarded to the member who, by his personal individual efforts and participation during the preceding year contributed the most to the advancement and embodiment of the USSVI Creed and Agenda. Who by his dedicated service and support to our USSVI organization and his fellow Submarine Veteran Brethren exemplifies the meaning and spirit of the word, "Shipmate. This is the USSVI version of a "Letter of Commendation," The Nomination can be for a member, a group, or a Base. The selection and presentation of this award is solely at the discretion of the National Commander. Nominations may be made for members, group(s) of members or a Base for special recognition as determined by the National Commander.
