AMERICA RED WAKA & BLUE!! Make sure to find your most patriotic & fun outfit to wear for your game tonight! The top dressed guy and girl will win free beer at Poags plus the team with the most participation wins free beer too!! Ricky sucks and is not going to be on the fields tonight so make sure to find one of the board members if you want to be judged! Wondering who your board members are? Our mid-season party will be taking place at Hot Tubs Back Porch Grotto on July 16th! There will be a FREE bar tab, while it lasts, along with a charity raffle, flip cup and more! 2 Pg. 2 Nacho Express Two weeks of Summer Kickball done and we only have two teams that are still working on a perfect season. You can see them play this week at 7:00 on field 2! HOLD MY DRINK AND WATCH THIS vs WAKA ME OFF This season we have a little bit of a surprise with the new guys, BIG BALLS IN COW- TOWN! These guys are brand new to Kickball and have yet to have a team beat them. They made a glorious comeback in week 1 against the veteran team OUR KICKS ARE HUGE to tie the game, then last week held onto a tie against EAT MY RUBBER with some awesome defensive skills. So watch out for these guys, they ain t too shabby! I don t know about you guys, but I m a big fan of these Team Challenges! It adds just a wee bit more to the greatness of Thursday Night Kickball!! Next Thursday, you all get to see me in some sort of spandex at Poags after the games. I m not saying it s gonna be a pretty sight, but it fo sho will be fun! I sadly won t be at kickball this week, but good ole Meghan will be out incase you have any problems. She told me that she was going to kick out anyone she sees peeing on the fields, I m gonna call her bluff and challenge yall to do the same. 3 Pg. 3 Meet the Board RICKY!! Ohh Ricky Where do we start?? He might not be an actual board member, but he kinda coordinates everything, so we had to include him. All he wants for Christmas is the naughty girl list, but apparently he s been bad for the last three years and still hasn t gotten it. He loves to drink at Ur Mom s and says that everyone is welcome! Ricky once met a girl at Panchos for a date and she brought her two kids and her sister he was stuck with the tab. If you can find him at the bar he will more than likely buy you a beer. This season he will be dressed in pink supporting Drinkers With a Kicking Problem. SHELBY!! Queen Bitch! If you have ever met Shelby you know that she is far from a bitch, and pretty much loves everyone she meets. But she earned the title and she deserves it. She s the founding member of Suck My Kick & her favorite dinosaur is Little Foot from Land Before Time Shelby loves random music and even has some Justin Bieber on her ipod. You know she s a die hard kickballer because her favorite kickball memories are the ones she gets told about on Friday mornings. If you want to get on her good side, bring her a bottle of wine! She will more than likely tell you to eff off and drink it by herself on her bad ass patio, but she will enjoy every minute of it. She took her white shirts to a whole new level and tie dyed the shit out em as a captain of Suck My Kick!! KIM!! Kim is a long time kickballer, first time board member. She was there when Suck My Kick beat WAKA Me Off, their only loss in the last 4 seasons. She once had a guy take her to the circus for a first date, and she did not appreciate it. She is now married, so sadly, yall have no chance. If you did, you should take her to eat some sushi. If you want to try, buy her an ipod for her birthday which I believe is August 1st. So make sure and tell her happy birthday when you see her. She s also a HUGE fan of greek food! And, she will be showing off the tie dye shirts this season and once again, kicking ass for Suck My Kick!!

4 Pg. 4 CLINT!! A Fort Worth Fireman, Clint is the President of our little board, he has all the responsibility and is the one who makes all of the final decisions. If you don t like something that we do, find Clint, it s all his fault. His favorite TV show is 16 and Pregnant and his favorite dinosaur is the Troodon Formosus, google it, it ll make sense. He thought lost was the show about the robot girl who slept in the closet, Small Wonder, we haven t had the nerve to tell him he s wrong. He s played for Suck My Kick the last four seasons, and is doing the same this summer. You can see Clint on the fields or at Poags every Thursday in his fancy Tie Dye shirt! SEAN!! SERGEANT AT ARMS, Sean is in charge of security of TX West Side. If you ever have a problem, find Sean. He will honor his badge till the last minute! We are working on getting him a WAKA Flag to prance around with, but it s not looking good. All he wants for Christmas this year is a Red Ryder BB gun. His favorite dinosaur is the Dirk-A-Saurus, and I think we all know why. When Sean s not playing kickball, he dreams about playing kickball. His bucket list consist of becoming a Mass-Hole, he would like no better thing than to move to Boston. Not his first pick, but Sean will be rolling in Purple this season dominating for If These Balls Could Talk. He also took a pie to the face last week in good kickball KRISTEN!! Kristin s favorite dinosaur is a donkey, yeah, you read that right! She s new to DFW and figured Kickball was the best way to meet awesome people. This is also her favorite place to be, she says that she worked hard to get here and plans on staying for a while. So we might be stuck with her. If you take a look at her ipod, you ll find everything from Gospel music to New Kids on the Block to Nine Inch Nails. Kristin once was taken to an African Church for a first date, so you know she loves to party! She can t get enough reality TV, one of her favorites is First 48! If you haven t seen that show, you should watch it and talk to Kristin about it! You can find her at Poags in Forest Green dancing her ass off every Thursday. She s helping Hold My Drink and Watch This keep their perfect season going.

5 Pg. 5 BERTHOLD!! Also knows and Michael, a first time board member, is in his 5th season with TX West Side! We were searching for a title for him, and seeing him challenging Shelby for Queen Bitch, there was no other choice but to claim him as our Prince Bitch! Not quite the queen, or I guess king, he is working his way slowly up the ladder. Before his senior prom, he took his date to Chuck-E-Cheese, could you imaging seeing a couple decked out in Prom attire at Chuck-E- Cheese? He s a fan of Texas Country, but he also has some Beatles on his favorite playlist on his ipod! You can find Michael rocking out some Royal Blue on Thursday nights as a captain of Down n Dirty. Find him at Poags and see if you can talk him into buying you a beer! ALI!!!! If you haven t met Ali, you need to. She is the official board bottom whatever that means. She is the one that loves to argue and complain about EVERY decision made. But without her, we would have boring parties because they would all be the same. She would like a BMW for Christmas, and I think Ricky could help her out with that. Her outlook on the show Lost was this I think they all imagined landing on an island Although she s not a fan of Poags, you can almost always find her getting smashed at 7th Haven! If you want to know more about why she hates Poags so much, find her and get ready for an entertaining story!! This season Ali will be sporting a purple shirt kicking ass for If These Balls Could Talk. KELLY!! You always hear that BIG things come in SMALL packages, and Kelly is walking proof! She s a long time board member and a long time West Side Kickballer. Her official title is Head Teacher, because she s a teacher, and we weren t very creative. When I asked all of the board members what their favorite thing to do besides kickball, EVERYONE answered drinking, or drinking with friends, not Kelly, she said Run or Read. She is actually missing a week of kickball this season to run a marathon in Washington D.C. She s a party within herself! This season Kelly will be sporting forest green and kicking for Hold My Drink and Watch This!!

6 Pg. 6 BERT!! Okay, Bert isn t actually on the board, but he LOVES us. He s our big dog ref. He s the one that tells you what is right and wrong. He might not be on the board this season, but he s been a huge part of the board in the past. Bert is a guy that will make sure everyone is having fun even when he isn t. His favorite movie from his past is Coming to America. He doesn t own any apple products. That s right, Bert does not own an ipod, iphone, ipad or anything else made by apple. But, he can still play music on his phone. Weird right? He has an HTG phone that he claims does everything an iphone does You can find Bert this season dominating for Eat My Rubber and wearing some Red Shirts. Find him, he s at Poags every week! Bert loves to make new friends!! SAM!! Ahh Sam, Sam is new to Thursday night kickball, but not new to kickball. She is a new board member but obviously loves Kickball!! She s the captain of Drinkers With a Kicking Problem and plans theme nights ever week!! Her favorite dinosaur is Ducky from Land Before Time!! Thanks to her many seasons of kickball, she has obtained many random songs on her ipod, including but not limited to The Chicken Dance, and the Jaws theme!! If you give Sam a 24 pack of Bud Light and a lot of time, she will do her best to give you a run down of Lost. She can see her in pink every Thursday, unless she takes her theme nights to the next level, then you might see her in leopard print or a bikini!!! GARY!! Gary, he never sent me a picture for the board profile So that s why you see an alien on the left He loves riding his Harley, and he also loves Big Brother!! His favorite dinosaur is a Saber Tooth Tiger. I wish I knew more about Gary, but I don t He was at the first board meeting, but sat at a different table This is his first season of kickball and he really wants to meet new folks, so find him and be his friend!! He will be representing the purple team, If These Balls Could Talk!!!

7 Pg. 7 Head Rules Guy WAKA TX RANGER HEAD REF BERT PARATORE DISSECTS THE RULES HERE EACH WEEK An Out is: Any kicked fly ball that is called foul (by any of the above foul ball definitions) and is caught is an out. Three strikes. A runner touched by a ball prior to reaching base (this includes a tag, thrown ball or kicked fair ball). Ball tags on runners have to be below the neck. If a ball tag is made on the runner s head or neck the runner is safe, unless the ref determines that the runner intentionally used their head or neck to block the ball or if the runner is sliding. A ball tag on the base in a force out situation. A kicked fly ball (foul or fair) caught by a fielder. A runner off base when the ball is kicked. (There is no leading off or stealing bases in kickball.) A runner who does not tag up when required. (Rules defined below.) A runner who is physically assisted by a base coach during play. Four fouls. Tagging Up: Runners are required to stay on base or tag up until a kicked fly ball first touched. That means when there is a fly ball, the runner may tag up or leave the base once the ball is first touched regardless if it s caught or not. So fielder A first attempts to catch a fly ball, bobbles it and fielder B catches it. The runner can tag up or leave the base once fielder A has touched the ball. Fielder Position Rules (Encroachment): There are three ways for the fielding team to get encroachment warnings. First, when any player (except the catcher) crosses the imaginary diagonal line between first and third base before the ball reaches the kicker (whether it s kicked or not). Second, when the catcher is in front of the kicker when the ball reaches the kicker (whether it s kicked or not). Third, when the pitcher crosses the imaginary diagonal line between first and third base during their pitching motion. First offense of this rule is a warning and the play stands as called. Second and all following offenses of this rule result in the kicker being awarded first base regardless of the outcome of the play. Each team gets one warning per game. Overthrows: An overthrow is defined as any ball thrown, kicked or deflected into FOUL TERRITORY while making a defensive play toward a runner or base. Runners may advance one base pass the one they are on or heading towards on an overthrow. This is not an automatic right and the fielding team can still try to get them out. The play ends when the pitcher has the ball on the pitching mound. If an attempt is made to get the runner out instead of returning the ball to the pitcher on the mound, the runner may continue base running. The losing team will be getting ANTIQUED after the game! Come out to the fields to see who wins! For those of you that might not know what getting antiqued means, I ve posted an example below.
