She earned her 100th SEC victory in the 3-2 win over Florida on March 18. The Tigers put together six-straight runrule victories to start the 2019 season, the second-longest run-rule streak in program history. The Tigers have 14 run-rule wins on the year after a 9-1 six-inning run-rule of South Carolina on March 31. LSU tallied 73 runs in 30 innings to start the year in the Tiger Classic, the most runs in any six-game stretch in program history. The Tigers scored a total of 29 runs over the three-game series against Texas A&M, the most runs scored in an SEC series in program history. The Tigers claimed the series over Florida for the first time since the 2015 season. It was the first series victory in Baton Rouge since the 2007 season. The Tigers swept Georgia, their first sweep in Athens since LSU opened the series with an 11-4 win and claimed the secone game 6-4 with a series finale victory of 7-4. The Tigers won six-straight SEC series, which is the most SEC series wins since Andrews has 42 stolen bases on the season. The single-season record is 45 set by Kirsten Shortridge in Andrews finished with 42 last season. The Tigers have scored 10 or more runs in 11 games this season. They are 11-0 when reaching that mark. Last year the Tigers hit 41 home runs for the season and the Tigers had 30 home runs before SEC play this season, the most before SEC play in program history. The Tigers hit two on the weekend to bring their total to 63 which is the second-most in a single-season in program history and two away from the single-season record of 65. ULM 2019 Record 9-36, 5-15 Sun Belt Head Coach Molly Fichtner ULM Record/Years 9-36 (1st Season) LSU leads the all-time series, 11-0 ON DECK LSU returns home for midweek action against ULM The LSU softball team returns home this week for a midweek contest against ULM on Tuesday. The Tigers are 11-0 against the Warhawks. In the last meeting, the Tigers claimed a 9-1 five-inning victory over the Warhawks. Under head coach Beth Torina, the Tigers are 5-0 and have won the last two contests in run-rule fashion. Shemiah Sanchez became the first player in program history to hit multiple home runs in consecutive games (Northwestern St., SFA, Texas A&M). She hit a grand slam at Georgia, her third on the season and fourth in her career. She is the only Tiger in program history to hit three grand slams in a season. Sanchez has hit multiple home runs in four contests this season and is two away from the single-season record of 18 with 16 dingers on the year. Only two other players have had 4 homers over the course of two games, and it was the same two games in Kelsi Kloss and Bianka Bell each had one HR vs. Alabama and each had three HR vs. Louisiana Tech. There have been 13 occasions when players have homered in 3 straight games. Sunseri and Shemiah Sanchez have done it this year. Sahvanna Jaquish did it 4 different times in her career. Amber Serrett is third in games played among active Division I players with 245 in her career. Andrews and Shemiah Sanchez led the charge at the plate last weekend with a.500 batting average. Andrews went 6-for-12 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Shemiah Sanchez went 5-for-10 with a home run and two RBI. Amanda Doyle hit.400 with a gamewinning dinger, a three-run shot to down Arkansas, 3-1, on Sunday. In the circle, Sunseri picked up the win on Sunday. In the weekend, she struck out seven in 8.2 innings of work. Sunseri is also on a six-game hitting streak. With 20 career homers, Sunseri has hit more HRs than any pitcher in program history. She passed Tessa Lynam (18 HRs, 16-3 record).
