A family tradition since 1935 CalumetBakery.com Frank Wilkins Head Coach Frank Wilkins comes to Prairie State College with an advanced knowledge in how to win a collegiate softball game. After all, he s only done it 317 times in his storied career. Wilkins, the all-time winningest coach in St. Joseph s College (Ind.) softball history, will take over the reigns as the steward of the Prairie State College softball program for the 2015 season. With over 30 years of high-level coaching experience, Wilkins brings with him a track record of proven success. The longtime foreman at Inspat Inland Inc. of East Chicago, achieved his biggest coaching accomplishment in 2012 when he guided the Pumas to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Wilkins club culminated its historic run with a Super Regional championship and berth in the College Softball World Series. St. Joseph s was eventually eliminated from the Word Series, following an 11-inning 2-1 loss to defending national champion University of California San Diego. During the Pumas improbable run, Wilkins led his team to a overall mark and records within the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Wilkins compiled an overall ledger of in 13 seasons at St. Joseph s. The graduate of T.F. North High School in Calumet City, also didn t limit his coaching career to the collegiate ranks either. Wilkins helped found StarPath Softball, one of the top women s fast-pitch teams in the country. Wilkins compiled a record with StarPath. What made Wilkins mark even more impressive was the fact that StarPath competed against many of the nation s best club programs. The StarPath program has won the Indiana state championship four times and has competed in the women s Major National Championships twice. The club participated in an international tournament in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1996, posting a 9-1 record. Wilkins resides in Dyer, Indiana with his wife, Barb. They have two children (Julie and Michael) and three grandchildren (Emma, John and Grace). 4 5

6 Dan Corradetti Assistant Coach With nearly two decades of coaching experience under his belt, Dan Corradetti will once again bring his wealth of expertise to the Prairie State College softball program in A former Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, Corradetti spent 17 years coaching at the club level for the Flossmoor Hurricanes. Fifteen of those years were spent on the organization s board of commissioners. The Chicago Heights native and 1970 graduate of Marian Catholic High School serves primarily as the Pioneers pitching coach. Corradetti, who enters his fifth season as an assistant at PSC, helped the Pioneers compile a school-record 26 wins 2011 and was an instrumental force in helping them advanced to the NJCAA Region IV semifinals for the first time in program history. He also played a significant role in PSC advancing for the first time to the NJCAA Region IV championship game a year later. A strong all-around athlete, Corradetti was a three-sport star for the Spartans, making substantial contributions on the football field, baseball diamond and wrestling mat. Corradetti helped lead Marian Catholic to the Illini Eight Conference football title in 1969 and was also the conference s 127-pound wrestling champion during his junior campaign. Following graduation from Marian Catholic, Corradetti served a three-year stint in the Marine Corps, where he was both a starting shortstop and defensive back on the First Marine Division s fast-pitch softball and football squads, respectively. Following his time in the armed-forces, Corradetti attended Illinois State University before embarking on a 30-year career as a member of the Chicago Heights Fire Department. Corradetti s athletic career didn t end once his Marine Corps days were behind him either. An avid weight-lifter, Corradetti, after hanging up his cleats, turned his attention to competitive lifting and found an astonishing amount of success. In 2003 Corradetti set a world record on the bench press (413 pounds) in the 50 and over division of the American Amateur Power Lifting Federation that still stands today. A three-time state bench-pressing champ, Corradetti also earned a national title in that lift as well. Corradetti s coaching file is also quite impressive. As head coach of the Hurricanes 10-and-under team, Corradetti took his squad to the 1998 Pony League Nationals. He was also the 2003 Fordan Award recipient for Flossmoor Baseball and Softball. Corradetti s coaching experience isn t just limited to the softball diamond. The resident of Chicago Heights also coached fourth through eighth-grade basketball and volleyball for 12 years.
