2 The WWCGP aims to create a marquee bicycling event in North America. The creation of a road race of significant length and challenge is a necessary step forward in bringing parity to women s competitive cycling. We look forward to seeing you in Woodstock! 5 WWCGP WEEKEND EVENTS Early Race Registration: Friday, May 6, 2016 Location: Time: Woodstock Community Center 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY 5:00pm 7:00pm Registration and number pick-up for all races will be available at this event. Pre-registration is available online using Day of Race Registration: Saturday, May 7, 2016 Location: Time: Mountain View Parking Lot 15 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY 6:30am 7:45am Riders must have a USA Cycling license. One day licenses can be purchased by Category 4 or first time racers at the race or in advance at: Find the Women's Woodstock Cycling Grand Prix on their race calendar and follow the link for "Purchase One Day License". All riders MUST complete a NYSDOT race waiver in order to race, as well as a USA Cycling waiver No signature, No race! The promoter reserves the right to change, shorten or cancel the event due to weather, road conditions, time constraints, or lack of participation. 5
6 Race Numbers: Two color coded race numbers will be provided. Numbers must be pinned on the back LEFT & RIGHT (one on each side) of the rider s jersey. Pro 1/2 Race: RED Numbers Cat 3 (Masters) Race: BLUE Numbers Cat 4 Race: GREEN Numbers WWCGP Rider Parking: Location: Mountain View Parking Lot 15 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY Outdoor restrooms will be available at race parking. Feed Zones: 2 feed zones for Pro 1/2 and Category 3 (Masters 40+ & 50+) races: Feed Zone #1 (mile 23.8): Feed Zone #2 (mile 37.9): 1 West Saugerties Woodstock Road Saugerties, NY Willow Automotive, 4640 NY-212 Willow, NY feed zone for Category 4 race: Feed Zone #1 (mile 23.8): 1 West Saugerties Woodstock Road Saugerties, NY Signage will indicate: 3 km to Feed Zone, Feed Zone Begins, Feed Zone Ends See the maps under your race heading for feed zone location. Always feed from the right side of the road. NEVER FEED FROM THE LEFT. The zone will be clearly marked with signage. Athletes should let their feed crew know that a limited amount of parking will be available before and after the feed zone. Do not park your car inside
7 the feed zone. Always ensure your vehicle is completely off the road when parking along the course. NOTE: You are racing on some of the most scenic roads in the Northeast. Please do your best to keep them pristine, and open to racing by not littering feed packaging, etc. Signage: All courses will be clearly marked. White direction arrows have been painted on the road at intersections. Feed Zones will be clearly marked. Race Caravan Follow Cars will display identifiable windshield signs: Race Support: Neutral Race Support will be available for all races. Follow vehicles will supply Wheels In Wheels Out for all races. Riders are encouraged to bring spare wheel(s) to provide to their follow vehicle. Riders can call Race HQ: for non-emergency pick-up. 7
8 WWCGP RACES: Saturday May 7, 2016 Pro 1/2 Race Start: Rock City Road, Saturday, May 7, 8:00am The Pro 1/2 race features a 60.9 mile course with 3,707 feet of cumulative elevation gain, and a high point of 1,795 feet. QOM competition is at mile 28.1 on the top of Mead s Mountain. Sprint competition is at mile Portions of course cover rough road, including a one mile gravel section; lightweight wheels and tires are not recommended. The recommended gearing is 39/28 for the Mead s Mountain Road ascent. The yellow line rule is in effect for the entire course, meaning all riders must be right of the middle of the road at all times. Any riders riding left of the middle will risk being disqualified. Race will be led by State Police. Riders dropped by the main group and passed by Race Caravan will be considered out of contention and must obey all 'rules of the road' for the remainder of their rides. A Wheels In/Wheels Out support vehicle will follow the peloton. Riders dropped by the main group must obey all rules of the road for the remainder of their ride. A sweep vehicle will follow the very last rider of the Overall event to pick up riders unable to finish. Importantly riders who have a mechanical and cannot continue should call Race HQ at for a ride back to the Finish Line. HELMETS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. NOTE: Neutral start 3.9 mi; official start after intersection of Glasco Tpk & Rt 212. For route information: Pro 1/2 Feed Zones: 8

10 Category 3, Masters 40+ and Masters 50+ Race Start: Rock City Road, Saturday, May 7, 8:10am The Cat 3 (Masters) race features a 53 mile course with 3,480 feet of cumulative elevation gain, and a high point of 1,795 feet. Category 3 riders will be scored separately from Masters 40+ and Masters 50+. QOM competitions are at mile 28.1 on the top of Mead s Mountain. Portions of course cover rough road, including a one mile gravel section; lightweight wheels and tires are not recommended. The recommended gearing is 39/28 for the Mead s Mountain Road ascent. QOM competition is at mile 28.1 on the top of Mead s Mountain. Portions of course cover rough road. The recommended gearing is 39/28 for the Mead s Mountain Road ascent. The yellow line rule is in effect for the entire course, meaning all riders must be right of the middle of the road at all times. Any riders riding left of the middle will risk being disqualified. A vehicle will be running pace ahead of the lead riders. A Wheels In/Wheels Out support vehicle will follow the peloton. Riders dropped by the main group must obey all rules of the road for the remainder of their ride. A sweep vehicle will follow the last rider on the race course to pick up riders unable to finish. 14 Children s Bicycle Safety Clinic: Saturday, May 7, 2016 Presented by: SUNY Ulster and the Ulster County Sheriff s Office Location: Time: Woodstock Community Center 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY 9:30am Purpose: To heighten family awareness on all aspects of bicycle safety whether as a bicyclist or motorist. Skill drills will be offered to participants which will teach them about balance, emergency stops and share the road etiquette. This event is FREE and open to the public! Awards Ceremony, Expo and Post-Race Party: Saturday, May 7 Location: Time: Woodstock Community Center 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY 10:30am Purpose: Take a minute to honor all top three winning places from each race category as they take their places on the podium as soon as results are confirmed by race officials. The QOM, Sprint and Best Young Rider s Jerseys will also be presented. If you cannot stay for the awards, contending athletes can leave their contact information and prize money can be mailed in the form of a check made out to that rider.
