After 2 years we will race in the beautiful terrains of Rabstejn region. We have prepared for you exacting tracks in deep forests in which some world competitions have been already organized, e.g. Universiade in 1969, WM in 1991 or Academic WM in We hope you will spend wonderful five days in Sklarna without mobile phone connection, together with the support of weather, our ability to improvise and your good temper. 2 Parking: Parking in the school area is very limited, so park only on permissible places, please!!! ALL THE TIME PLEASE FOLLOW ORGANIZER S INSTRUCTIONS! The cars parking on prohibited places will be towed without mercy!!! Number bibs: You will receive number bibs at the event office. Bibs have to be placed visibly on your bike. Stage 1 to 4: each competitor has the same number Stage 5: the first 6 competitors in each class shall pick up new number bibs before the start. Other competitors will keep their original number bibs. Punching System: Electronic SportIdent. If SI fails, use fields R1 R3 in the maps. You finish by punching the SI unit at the finish line. In case of photo finish in 5 th stage, sequencing on finish line is conclusive. Finish unit is punched after the finish line. Equipment Check: Equipment check will be performed at start for classes M/W 14, M/W 17, OPEN only. You will not be admitted to the race without wearing a helmet and your SI card fixed to your bike. The bikes of all competitors must have the tires with minimal width of 1.5. Bike Depository: Taking the bikes to the rooms or hostel s corridors is prohibited under penalty of 1000 CZK. There will be dedicated bike depository in the school area (entry behind the main tent) with permanent service from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bike depository will be closed from 7 p.m. Bike picking-up will be possible only with knowledge of SI unit fixed on the bike. Organizer has no responsibility for bikes in bike depository. Please respect above rules to secure your bikes!!! Bike wash: There will be water tank, brooms and brushes on dedicated place in event center. Bike washing in the washroom is prohibited!!! Bike service and shop: There will be stands of FORCE and JAJIN in event centre to support you. Price giving ceremony: At 7:30 p.m. after 1 st 4 th stages in event centre. At 1:30 p.m. after 5 th stage (only overall results). Time of ceremony will be announced by speaker during the race. Jersey dressing: As you got used at well-known cycling events, the concerned competitors (men and women) will obtain colored jerseys (competitors will change jerseys at price giving every day): Yellow YELLOW GUY leader in H21E and D21E in overall ranking after each stage. Black LOSER competitor with the biggest time loss to the stage winner in his class. Higher overall time decides if more guys had same time loss. The competitor with the biggest time loss to the total winner will obtain the black jersey after 5 th stage forever. Orange FASTER competitor with the fastest lap time from the last check point to the finish in the stage. If the lap times were equal, better position in his/her category decides, then overall time. The jerseys are forwarded to new owners every evening! 2

3 First aid: First aid is arranged every day in event centre. Refreshment: Water and sport drink at the finish area every day. There is snack bar managed by specialized firm in event center. 4 Maps Giving at Start: E1 E4: 1 min before (as usually during MTBO events) E5: each competitor will take his/her map after start Maps Giving at Finish: Put your maps to a plastic bag with an abbreviation of your club after crossing the finish line. You will get your maps after the start time of the last competitor of the day. (E1 1:40 p.m. / E2 1:00 p.m. / E3 12:00 / E4 1:10 p.m.) 5 days O-races for children in Kids Corner: Kids corner (for the children of 2-12 age) opens 30 minutes before 00 Start every day, alternatively in the camp or climbing center. Then 2 short tracks will be prepared for: o dwarfs without map on lampion track o giants with map on simple track inside the centre area Children will compete individually without parents! Historical town Žlutice with baroque church. 2/ Forest rock city with regional Stonehenge. 3/ Small town Chyše with baroque church, castle (opening hours daily 10-18) and brewery restaurant (opening hours daily 11-22). 4/ Beautiful town Manětín with baroque church and castle (opening hours daily 10-16). There are about 80 baroque statues in the town. 5/ The smallest town in central Europe named Rabštejn nad Střelou. There is high amount of narrows impossible to ride but ok to run. Some paths are difficult to ride due to plenty of fallen branches, whereas others slightly burn your legs thanks to nettles. Centre = finish Centre start 6km fast road.way to start partially goes along the 2 nd class road pay attention. Steep climbs and downhills. Lot of sticks and little bit of nettles on the tracks. Nevertheless still beautiful. Paths and tracks sometimes hardly ridable, full of water and mud which makes it difficult to ride your bike there. Better to use an inflating boat for the dotted lines:-). Local nervous peasants and strict organizers will be sitting over there and note the start numbers of cheaters. The tracks might not be clearly visible on the mowed meadows but do not shortcut anyway! Route choices are long, give them a serious thinking Be afraid of dotted lines - they are water-soaked, slow to ride. The dashed lines are neither that fast as one might expect. The surface of full lines is not always asphalt. Every time loss will hurt twice at the end, so save some power for the night party The typical KOS Plzen party will follow after the prize giving ceremony. 14

Watch the competitors coming the opposite direction on the forest road connecting Sklárna and Poustky - the courses lead in both directions there. It might happen that you will select a genius route choice and will use the road connecting Rabštejn and Žihle during your race. In that case, be careful there. The car traffic is not restricted there. Take a deep breath at the start, think about your route choice and connect the controls by a marker, otherwise you will forget some of them for sure. Especially after the last night:-). It would be a shame to be disqualified at the last stage... Stay away from the dotted paths. Remember the previous stages, how the different tracks looks like, how soft, bumpy and water-soaked they are. 16

17 Course type: Middle + free order You are obliged to punch all controls in your map. Controls that are connected by the line must be punched in the given order. Beware that the controls with given order are not numbered, you will only have their control codes in your map. You can take the other free controls at any time. 17

18 Orienteering Triathlon Team spirit Date: Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. (after E2), the weather has been ordered Race type: O-Triathlon relay this time 6 members, starts with foot-o leg Courses: 1 st leg: Foot-O, Mass start, 4 controls, 1,51km 2 nd leg: Foot-O, 4 controls, 1,49km 3 rd leg: Swimming, route will be marked by floats, approx. 300m, instructions before the start 4 th leg: Swimming, route will be marked by floats, approx. 300m, instructions before the start 5 th leg: MTBO 8 controls, 2,89km 6 th leg: MTBO - 8 controls, 2,91km Leg changeover: The changeover is valid only after proper ass slap and giving the relay baton to your team buddy, as the baton serves your SI card. (Yes, there is only one SI unit for whole team ). Everyone who finishes his leg is obligated to punch the finish control (no. 100). The last, 6 th leg (second biker) crosses the finish line and punch the finish. Winning biker is that who cross the finish line first. Categories: Entries: Start fees: There is only one category comprise of 6 members 3 men (M) and 3 women (W), i.e. (M+M+M+W+W+W) If the relay is not able to get the third woman, one woman can be replaced by veteran (V) or child (CH). Just to be sure the final team can be composed like (M+M+M+W+W+V) or (M+M+M+W+W+CH). The explanation will be done in the evening after E1 or you can ask at presentation. Empty entry forms are available at the presentation. Filled entry forms hand on at presentation, till Wednesday the 3 rd 8 p.m. The number of teams is limited to 80 teams. First comes first serves. There is no start fee but you can supply the beer to organizers. 19 Punching: CAUTION: Price giving: SI, Sport Ident, Bikers, runners even swimmers will punch by the same SI unit (Yes, there is only one SI unit for whole team ). It is recommended to have SI-Card 6 or later. Please be careful, especially during the swimming. Avoid punching each other; we do not want to jump to the water for somebody drowning down there. Please be patient and be careful especially by leg changeover area! You compete at your own liability!
