NBCA's board had an in-depth briefing on the Trail on October 30. We think many in the neighborhood would like to see a similar presentation. To make sure you learn what you want to know, we are conducting this survey to understand what you already know about the Trail, how you feel about it, and any questions you have about it that haven't yet meet answered.to understand your comments, we need to know how close you are to the Trail's route. So please provide your street address. As in previous NBCA surveys, we won't publish your names, address or full street address. We may map some responses approximately on a neighborhood street map. Please enter the information indicated below so we can understand your survey responses and contact you if you indicate you want to attend meetings, get answers and feedback, etc. Write "Do Not Contact" after your last name if you don't want to be contacted, but please provide your home address ("Address 1", below) so we can understand your responses in the context of where you live. 9 NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers If you have participated in meetings, big or small, with GA400 Trail representatives, did those meetings and actions since then address your concerns about the Trail? Comment Page 9 of 19 #4 Anonymous Denise and Carlos did a great job listening and addressing issues like privacy for the neighbors abutting the trail #14 Sheldon Dr I had no concerns at the time. #28 Glengary Dr Although I have many concerns, the main one is why Livable Buckhead is determined to continue the trail past Mountain Way. These are my questions: Thank you!! 1) The residents on Mountain Way are comfortable with there being a park there. However, the Glengary Drive residents are not comfortable with the trail in our backyards, so why is Livable Buckhead determined to continue the trail up Glengary Drive? 2) Why all the secrecy surrounding this question? Why can we not get a straight answer? #29 Anonymous The route will come through my back yard. I will hire a lawyer to stop it. This trail will be a boon to thieves who steal at Phipps and jump the Loop and just run thru the wooded area to escape the police or vagrants or worst to hang out. #38 Glengary Dr Very concerned about parking and traffic on my street which is near the Loridans trailhead #45 Anonymous Did not know about any meetings
NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers What do you like about the GA400 Trail? (Check as many as apply.) Other #4 Anonymous Opportunity to bike/walk to run small errands like going to the post office #17 N Ivy Rd Easy bike access to other areas of Buckhead/ Atlanta Page 10 of 19 #28 Glengary Dr Nothing #40 Anonymous Connects to the Beltline #55 Old Ivy Rd Safer/easier route to Lenox Square area
NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers What concerns you about the GA400 Trail? (Check as many as apply.) Other Page 11 of 19 #3 Glengary Dr Anyone will have access to our back yards. #4 Anonymous See below #5 Carmain Dr None #14 Sheldon Dr See below #28 Glengary Dr Extremely expensive #38 Glengary Dr Parking and traffic #49 Glengary Dr Increased traffic #50 Anonymous How long will it take to get done
NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers Recreation Other (specify below) Comment #3 Glengary Dr I belong to a moderately priced club, where I can work out, take classes and swim. And I'm not disturbing anyone or intruding on their privacy. #24 Statewood Rd Dog parks #30 Anonymous I take my bike to riding trails but if there was a trail nearby I would use it often. I am pleased to see new bike lanes being painted on Peachtree Road and hope that with increased bike and pedestrian traffic, local car drivers will become more aware and respectful of cyclists and pedestrians. #38 Glengary Dr Exercise #39 Glengary Dr We got to the public parks in our neighborhood on a more than one time a week basis. #60 Anonymous Running near home and at Piedmont Park running track. However, if there was a soft surface option this near to me, I would surely use this instead of driving all the way to Midtown. Page 12 of 19
NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers NBCA would like to set up one or more presentations about the GA400 Trail for the neighborhood. Do you have a specific question(s) that you would like answered? List below. #3 Glengary Dr Whose idea was this? #4 Anonymous What is the current development plan & timing for the trail and other elements? #14 Sheldon Dr If the trail is so good for Buckhead, why the intense concerns? #21 Stratford Rd Timeline, routes #24 Statewood Rd Info on trailheads on residential streets such as Statewood #28 Glengary Dr 1) The residents on Mountain Way are comfortable with there being a park there. However, the Glengary Drive residents are not comfortable with the trail in our backyards, so why is Livable Buckhead determined to continue the trail up Glengary Drive? 2) Why all the secrecy surrounding this question? Why can we not get a straight answer? #29 Anonymous What the hell is the purpose?. WE on N. Stratford have to put up with 400 noise and the cars coming down our street at 50 MPH. We would like to have some respect and peace and quiet. #38 Glengary Dr How will parking at the Loridans Trail head be handled? The NBCA news letter says Garden Clubs may maintain the trail. If this doesn't happen who will. Several other things are stated as May happen. #45 Anonymous Safety especially at night and how [will] the police will access for emergencies #55 Old Ivy Rd I would like to know how the trail ties in with the Lenox Square area...and a safer means to walk across busy Lenox Road. #60 Anonymous Are there plans for the surface of the running trail. Page 13 of 19
NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers How much meeting time do you think would be appropriate for a GA400 Trail presentation? Comment Page 14 of 19 #24 Statewood Rd 1.5 hours including presentation and question/answer period
NBCA s December GA 400 Trail Survey All Free Text Comments Made by Survey Takers Do you have specific comments/requests regarding the GA400 Trail, future Trail meetings or this survey? Page 15 of 19 #4 Anonymous I think the trail will be a great asset to the neighborhood #14 Sheldon Dr Keep the meeting focused and started and ended on time. #21 Stratford Rd I live at the Paramount at Buckhead high rise condos with 300 units. You should contact our management office about having a session in our theater with residents. #38 Glengary Dr Would like to know if suggested alternatives were considered and why they were rejected. #49 Glengary Dr comment regarding the trail: will the trail be closed after a certain time at night and will police be required to patrol? these trails after dark would likely be very dangerous! i suspect people would not feel safe using after 9:00 at night so police patrol will be necessary. #55 Old Ivy Rd The GA 400 Trail is wonderful idea. A couple questions I hope discussed at the meeting: How will the trail tie in with the bus system on Peachtree St. (MARTA and the Buc)? What about future trolley possibilities (cross town routes rather than downtown transportation)?
