Transportation Planning and Programming 1) Plan and implement a seamless bicycle and pedestrian travel network that is continuous across city boundaries and county boundaries. Implementing actions: a) Identify Cross County Bicycle Corridors b) Identify needed crossings of major barriers (freeways, expressways, waterways and railroad tracks) within Santa Clara County. c) Support at-grade bike/ped crossings of railroad tracks as a cost-effective and expedient way to facilitate and enable bike/ped trips by significantly shortening the trip length d) Work with adjacent counties to develop seamless connections. 2) Include bicycle and pedestrian facilities in applicable transportation plans, programs, and studies On-going On-going On-going On-going On-going On-going On-going Not yet impl. Encourage traffic calming to reduce speeds thereby improving bicyclist safety. 3) Consider roadway designs to enhance traffic safety. a.
