2 Being kind never hurts Fox is a family Say no to bullies Sharing is caring Again, we talked about the key anti bullying messages, which are to not accept bullying, to say no to bullies and to report any bullying to an adult in the school. Fox Sports update Mr Millet was extremely proud of all of the Fox children who competed in the FESTIVAL OF SPORTS on Wednesday 26 th. All Fox children displayed exemplary sportsmanship and skilful play. Fox School won three out of the four events basketball, hockey and tag rugby and will represent the LA in the London Youth Games. 3 It is of high importance that the children dress appropriately in PE lessons. Please ensure the children have the correct Blue PE kit T-shirt, sweat top, shorts and jogging pants in their PE bag at school. The weather has changed, so please make sure all children have the correct footwear, (out-door trainers), as well as a waterproof top and for the cold days ahead a beanie hat. How much sleep do children need? For a summary of the recent sleep clinic please read Ms Waddell s attached summary. Attendance Please may I remind parents and carers that I cannot authorise absence unless it is for exceptional circumstances. Ofsted are shifting the goal post and call persistent absence any absence under 90%. If any child has absence under this figure, then the individual child s absence is scrutinised. Please may I also remind parents and carers that the school will be accumulating unauthorised absence from their date of entry, and adding this UA figure onto their end of year report. 5 FSA EVENTS ON THE HORIZON DECEMBER Sat 6 Winter Fair Thurs 18 Year 6 Cake Sale (proceeds to go towards the Ebola crisis) WINTER FAIR The Winter Fair is now just a week away. Thank you all for your donations so far. However, we still need the following: Hampers: we do not need any more chocolates or biscuits. Please donate Christmas cakes, Christmas puddings, dried foods, savoury items, teas or coffee, preferably in the house colours. Tombola: anything in a bottle, wine, beer, olive oil, soft drinks, juices, cordials, vinegars etc. Vintage Jewellery: old costume or vintage jewellery please give to Gloria in the office. Gifts for Mum and Dad: Unused items that you would be happy to receive yourself. Perfume, luxury toiletries, candles, wallets, purses, etc. Please leave with Gloria or Michelle in the office. Dishes for the International Café: Please could all the amazing cooks out there bring seasonal and winter celebration dishes from their culture and country of origin for the winter fair café Raffle Tickets: Sell, sell, sell! Don t forget to sell your raffle tickets and please return your money and ticket stubs to the office by Friday 5th December. We have some fantastic prizes including the 4 wonderful Festive House Hampers, 2 ginger bread houses, a Kindle Fire HD, a Years membership to the Tate Gallery and 2 tickets to a cinematic performance at the Gate Theatre. We have extra raffle booklets in the office should you need them and please note that the class that sells the most tickets will win Pizza for the class! Good Luck! You should have received RAFFLE tickets in book bags last week. If you need more they can be collected from the office. Also we are still short on volunteers, if you think you can give an hour at any point during the fair, please let your class rep know for you classes chosen stall, if you can give an extra hour, please contact Tracey at fsasecretary1@gmail.com. Finally, there are still posters in the office, please pick up a few copies and distribute amongst your friends, family and colleagues that live locally. 6 STARS OF THE WEEK RJ RK Class Star Reason Gabriel Sebastien Gabriel is such a hardworking member of RJ. He always shows great enthusiasm for learning and participates well during carpet sessions and activities. Gabriel has been working really hard on his writing this week. We are all very proud of you in RJ. Keep up the hard work! Sebastien has been working very hard in phonics this week. He always takes his time to hold his pencil correctly and form his letters beautifully. We have all been very impressed. 1B Julia For her beautiful handwriting this week. Julia always tries her best in everything that she does and her poetry this week in Literacy was so beautifully presented. Well done Julia. 1MG Gabriel Putting supper effort into him handwriting! Brilliant - Well done Gabriel! 2R 2DB 3B 3F 4C 4T Rhea Tara Sarah Liliana Rosita Leahnorah Rhea for making such a great effort to slow down her handwriting and present her work more neatly. Her consistently neat and tidy presentation. Tara always put in lots of effort to make sure her work is presented well. Her handwriting is well formed and she is now starting to join her letters. Keep it up Tara! Sarah has made a super effort with forming her letters correctly and her presentation has improved leaps and bounds. We have also been impressed by her amazing partner work in Numeracy. Keep it up! Liliana has been making a massive effort to improve her handwriting. She is always focused and diligent in handwriting lessons, which is showing in her literacy book. Her recent writing has completely transformed! Keep up the good work. For taking such pride in her learning. It is always a pleasure to mark Rosita's books, because you can see the effort that she puts in and they are always immaculately presented. Her home learning is also completed to the highest standard every week. Well done on all your hard work, Rosita. Leahnorah's presentation in her literacy has been exceptional this week. Her beautiful handwriting has also reflected the quality of her writing. Her work based on dinosaurs was a masterpiece with filled with ambitious vocabulary and a sense of suspense and drama. 7 5J 5S 6S 6HR Maximilian Filippa Ektor Margaux Maximilian has made a great effort with his handwriting this week. He is taking his time to ensure his letters are correctly joined and on the line. Keep up the hard work! Filippa's handwriting is consistently excellent - she joins all of her letters accurately and her letters are always the correct size. Her presentation in her maths book is also always exemplary. What a star! His consistently excellent presentation. Ektor's handwriting is always joined and extremely neat, making his work a pleasure to read! He puts so much effort into every piece of writing, which shows how committed Ektor is to his learning. Margaux always takes such pride in her work. Her handwriting is beautiful and all of her work is presented with the upmost care. Keep it up Margaux! Page 7 of 7
