During the 2 1/2 hours, they will dance, make a craft and have a short snack break, at which time they will watch a Disney animated movie. The week will conclude with a performance by the campers. 2 MUSIC CAMPS Early Childhood Music: Music for Babies and Toddler: Each parent-child class will be based on a fun, summer theme that will keep your family singing and chanting through your summer adventures this season. Class activities are designed to develop your child s musical skills and cultivate a love for music. They will conclude the week with a performance. Campers should have at least 6 months study on their instruments. You do not have to be a current member of Oldham County Children s Choir to participate. 5 THEATRE CAMPS Continued Fairy Tale Theatre: This camp will offer your child the chance to play their favorite character in a fairy tale mash-up that promises lots of laughs and maybe a lesson or two. They will learn the basics of theatre performance while rehearsing a show that they will perform for family and friends on the last day of class. When you sign up, please tell us what character your child would like to be and the teacher will write an original play incorporating all the chosen characters. This week will focus on listening and reacting to fellow actors while keeping the scene alive and engaging for the audience. This camp, using pieces from this play, will be fast paced, witty, and physical, it's full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike. This camp will teach campers the rules of speculative (supernatural, fantastical, or futuristic) fiction, including world-building, the rules of magic, and why their characters would need to know how to start a fire without matches. We break down the scary world of auditions so they can handle them like a pro. Each skill will be taught using fun Broadway tunes, and basic theatre dance movement. Students will spend two weeks exploring multiple aspects of ceramics and clay, including sculpture, tile making, functional pottery, wheel throwing as well as hand building, glazing and decorating techniques. The summer camp includes a field trip to working ceramics facility and a tour of Louisville glassworks and a hands on activity while touring the glassworks.
