1 Wildcat enews JANUARY 2017 VOLUME 1, ISSUE 4 Wildcats, stay focused! he end of the school year is just around the corner. Second semester is not the time to fall behind. For most, returning from Christmas break means you are just one step closer to summer vacation and your mind begins wandering to warmer places; but really it is a very busy and hectic time in high school. Important Information Phone (304) Fax Website (304) nhswv.com Engrade Important tool for students, parents, and teachers Administration Principal Jason Redman Asst. Principal Drew McClanahan Asst. Principal Gene Smith Underclassman, this is a very important time as you beginning scheduling for next year s classes, and preparing for the standardized testing. If you have questions about scheduling, don t be afraid to ask. Making a decision on your classes should involve you and your parents. Senior s we know you can see the light at the end of the tunnel (and believe it or not you will one day wish to be back in the halls of Nitro High) but you must stay focused. Walking across the stage is a rewarding time. An acknowledgement of the success you have had in the classroom for the last 13 years. With all of the exciting things going on, you still have work to do. hose final grades are important for your future. Whether you choose to go to college, trade school, join the workforce, or join the military. All of your options will want to see that you buckled down and did the job to earn the right to move onto the next step. his is a busy time, but you must stay in contact with your counselor. Check for scholarship opportunities, fill out the FASFA application, schedule to take the AC or SA if you haven t already, talk with your counselor and parents about what you would like to do after high school. Yes it is your future, one that we want all of you to be successful in, remember to always keep the communications open and your eyes on the goal--your success.
