1 Newsletter Date Berri District Youth Club Newsletter Term Two, 2015 IMPORTANT DATES Full House at Fringe Classes Recommence April 28th, 29th & 30th. Coaches Workshop Saturday May 2nd 10am-12pm Our Performance Troupe were selected to participate in this year s Adelaide Fringe Festival. They performed to sell out crowds and received rave reviews from both the organisers and the spectators. Well done everyone!! See more photos on our website Rotary Dinner Helsinki Troupe Monday June 1st 6.00pm-9.00pm Lamington Fundraiser May/June Information flyer out soon. Berri Gym Comp June 16th,17th,18th Opals/Emeralds, Sapphires, Diamonds, Rubies & Silvers groups. Term Two Finishes June 30th and July 1st & 2nd World Gymnaestrada July 12th-18th Helsinki, Finland You will be able to follow the troupe at the 2015 World Gymnaestrada in Helsinki, Finland. More details in our next newsletter. Our Vision is that the Berri District Youth Club Inc. is recognised within the community for developing gymnastics as the best physical and personal activity for the youth in the area. Our Mission is to provide the opportunities for all members regardless of sex, race or ability to develop their involvement, skill level and personal satisfaction in their chosen sport.

Coaches Corner New Baby Congratulations to coach Amanda Piasente and partner Paul on the safe arrival of Luke. A little brother for gymnasts Dylan, Jake, Hayden and Matthew. New Demonstrator Welcome Charlotte Reid 8 years old. Courses Congratulations to Amanda Rodden, Cheryl Burgemeister and Blake Hampel for passing their Beginners on-line course. Colds and Flu If you are feeling unwell we ask that you skip your gymnastics session to help prevent the spread of colds and flu this winter. Winter Tips Make sure that you continue to bring your water bottle. Dress in layers-long sleeved leotard, leggings, shorts & t-shirt, tracksuit. Wear warm shoes to and from the clubrooms-ugg boots or slip on shoes are best. Socks can be worn for warm-ups but must then be removed for training. Remember-No hoodies, zips, belts, buckles or skirts. Cancellations due to bad weather Classes are only cancelled if the weather is too dangerous for you to drive. Eg: Severe hail storms, wild winds, very heavy rains causing flooding etc. Members will be notified via a message on the club s website/facebook.

4 BE R R I DI STR IC T Y OUT H CL U B Berri Easter Carnival 40 gymnasts participated in this year s Easter Display on Vaughan Terrace. Thank you to everyone who made cakes and slices for our stall or gave donations and to Foodland Renmark for donating our raffle prize. We raised over $460 towards our new clubrooms project. A big thank you to everyone who helped with the equipment Game Plan magazine Grab your copy of the Murray Pioneer s Riverland Sports Preview magazine at your local news agency. Gymnaestrada Troupe Cirque De Gymnastique Our Helsinki Troupe gave a magnificent performance at this year s Adelaide Fringe Festival. The event was held at the Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre (Gym SA Headquarters) in March. The troupe were able to try out their new costumes, hair styles, face paints and props for their trip to Helsinki. A Big Thank You to our Acrobatics coach and choreographer Carolyn Martin for putting the routine together and training up the troupe. Carolyn works really hard making the troupe s program fun, interesting and certainly challenging and we all love our new abs!!. Thank you to Ellie, Deanne, Skye, Alysha and Brianna for helping the troupe get ready for the day and to everyone who made the trip down to Adelaide to support us!! Thank you also to our Level One Supporter Woolworths- Berri for donating our healthy lunch and snacks for the weekend.
