2 ABOUT THE EVENT The Turkey Trot for Parkinson s was founded in 2015 by Juliet Neal after her brother-in-law was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson s Disease, a chronic, progressive neurological disease. She wanted to be able to support her sister and brotherin-law despite being hundreds of miles away. Juliet first began raising awareness and fundraising while running for Team Fox in the 2015 Marine Corps Marathon. After being inspired by other runners and meeting many within the Parkinson s community, the Turkey Trot for Parkinson s was founded to continue the mission of raising awareness, educating others and raising funds for Parkinson s research. 100% of every dollar raised at the Turkey Trot for Parkinson s will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundations for Parkinson s Research. To learn more about the Michael J. Fox Foundation, visit Today, the Turkey Trot for Parkinson s continues to bring families within the local community together on Thanksgiving morning to be active and participate in either the 5k Turkey Trot or the shorter distance, 1 mile Gobble Wobble. Many of our participants are running with Parkinson s or in honor/memory of loved ones with the disease. Now, with nearly 1000 participants, along with their family members, spectators and volunteers, this is truly an event that brings our community together. This year, our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund much needed research. We hope you will join us!
