Contact the newsletter editor, Judy Quincy: judithq2@yahoo.com ER COLUMN My Fellow Officers, Members, Emblem Auxiliary and Friends August was a busy month. My wife and I attended Jim Buell's DDGER Jewelling Ceremony held on August 1st, and the DDGER Visitations in Roseville on August 6th, Rancho Cordova on August 13th, Carmichael on August 18 th, and I also attended the DD Clinic in Sacramento on August 16th. My wife and I attended the Yountville Veterans BBQ, and helped feed the disabled veterans. It was truly a worthwhile trip. If you get a chance next year, I strongly recommend going. In my spare time, I was running around, attempting to acquire donations for our Placerville Elks Lodge Car Show, which was held on August 15th. With Ellie and others help, we acquired many very nice raffle prizes for the car show. Overall, I would say that it was a success. There was a nice selection of antique, classic, custom, muscle cars, and hotrods. The profits from this fund raiser will go to the Lodge/ Veterans Committee. Also, everyone spoke well of the pancake/ham/potato/juice & coffee breakfast. The businesses that donated gifts for our car show should not go unnoticed, and their contributions showed that they not only care for their community, but also for those who have served, or are currently serving our country. Folsom/Eldorado Hills: BJ's Restaurant/ Brew House, Mikes Barbershop, Purple Place and Barber Jon's. Cameron Park: "Ace" Hardware, Bubba's (American & Mexican Food), Raley's/ Belair, Goldorado Animal Hospital, Safeway, Big O Tires, Walgreens, Cameron Park Barber Shop, Carizma Auto Spa, Wash & Lube, Leah Marie Fashions & China City. 2
