1 Fraternal Order of Eagles Michigan State Aerie Southeastern Michigan Zone 1 DATE: January 20, 2017 TO: SUBJECT: Zone One Aerie and Auxiliary Secretaries Zone One Spring Conference APRIL 29 & 30, 2017 THEME: PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE, MAKING A DIFFERENCE Secretaries the strength of our Eagle Family depends on your help by reading this information at your meetings. The Southeastern Michigan Zone Spring conference will be held at: CLARKSTON #3373 AERIE, 5643 MAYBEE ROAD, CLARKSTON, MI Registration for Saturday, April 29 th will begin at 4:00 pm, and close with the start of session promptly at 6:00 pm. Registration for Sunday, April 30 th will begin at 9:00 am, and close with the start of the Conference Workshop at 10:00 am. REGISTRATION FEE: According to Zone-1 BY-LAWS, section 6, the registration fee is $2.00 per person. The Grand Aerie and Grand Auxiliary Representatives State Aerie and State Auxiliary Officers attending will be on hand to conduct the Workshop. They will answer questions from any brother or sister that is deposited in a box near the podium. HOUSING: Attached at the bottom of this letter is the information with the host hotel, with all the information you will need. Secretaries, please make copies for all who wish to attend.

2 BY-LAWS: All changes must be submitted in writing and signed by at least three (3) members in good standing, to the By-Laws Committee no later than 4:00 pm. Saturday, April 29, DINNERS: Friday, April 28 th -- Fish Fry (deep fried Walleye or Cod) baked fish, chicken wings, chicken fingers, shrimp and baked potato are available. Weekly Bake Sale with proceeds going to upcoming charities and projects. Karaoke & Dancing with DJ Kurt from 8 -??? Saturday, April 29 th Starting at 4 pm running to 5:30 pm Steak or Chicken, Baked Potato, Green Beans & a roll ($12.00 for Steak, $10.00 for Chicken) Saturday Evening Entertainment Mark & Melissa will have music and entertain everyone. Sunday, April 30 th Breakfast will be from 8:00 to 9:30 am at a cost of $$8.00. The breakfast will include bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns & orange juice. 3 NOTE: *** NEXT HOST BIDS: The next Host committee will be accepting bids for the Fall Conference, OCTOBER 7 th and 8th, Now is the time to prepare your Aerie submission and mark your calendar!! Eligible to bid for this conference will by any Aerie in District 3, with a backup from any Aerie in District 2, in accordance with Article 5, Section 1, of the By-Laws. All Aerie bids for the next Conference should submitted after being approved by that Aerie s membership at a regular meeting. Bids must be submitted on the Aerie s letterhead and shall be signed by the Worthy President and Worthy Secretary over the Aerie Seal. The host Aerie shall pay to the Zone, the sum of $ This amount will be returned to the Aerie at the end of the conference as long as the conference is held at that Aerie. This fee must be paid within thirty (30) days after the bid is accepted. All bidding Aeries and their Auxiliaries must be in good standing with the State Aerie and State Auxiliary, and the Grand Aerie. ***NOTE: The Zone officers would like to meet with the representatives from the Aerie receiving the Fall Conference bid immediately after the close of the Spring Conference on Sunday, April 30 th, REPORTS: District Chairpersons, please have an activity report ready for this Conference. You or your designated person will be asked to read it. All members of the Zone are interested in the activities and how well the other Districts are doing. ZONE ONE MAIN RAFFLE TICKETS: Please encourage the sale of these tickets. This raffle is the only source of income that is donated to our charities. They include a microwave and mini fridge and sleep 2 3 adults. Can reserve rooms after January 2, They do not hold without reservations. TOWNEPLACE SUITES (MARRIOTT) 3900 Baldwin Road Auburn Hills, MI Rooms available are two-queen bedrooms, with some standard king bedrooms. We have block up to a total of 20 rooms more can be added as availability is needed. A group discount rate will be offered at $ plus tax per standard room, per night.
