By Jerzee Maynard The CMS Cheerleaders competed at Black Diamond this weekend. They placed first, Man placed second, and Madison in third. Although, Man did illegal stunts and dropped three stunts. Madison should've placed second because they did no illegal stunts and hit all of them. However Chapmanville brings attitude and flawless stunts, It was never in doubt that they would win. 3 Cheer Cheerleaders at CMS definitely support our school, and have fun while they do it. They also do great in competitions. Cheerleading is a sport that is represented well at CMS. Cheerleaders are also athletes. They do really well with flips and cheers. One of the competitions is called Black Diamond. It takes a lot of work being a cheerleader. You have to learn the cheers, and you have to be able to do flips. They have to practice for two hours at the least. So, I think that it would be hard being a cheerleader. Cheerleading is a lot of hard work, practice and dedication. Our student body is luck to have the outstanding cheerleaders that we do. Go Tigers!
Math Field Day Team by Jaylan Maynard The Math Field Day team has done good with there math studies. The people who are on the team are Kristen Scites, Andrew Tomblin, Holly Vance, J.T Grimmett, Erin Conley, Dakota Bell, Grace Browning, Kevin Hanshaw. J.T. 8 Why We Celebrate Christmas!!! Andrew Tomblin We celebrate Christmas for the reason that Jesus was born. That is the reason for the holiday Christmas. One popular Christmas decoration depicts Jesus s birth. Do you know which one it is? It is the Nativity scene. Jesus is the main reason we celebrate Christmas! We also give each other gifts and decorate our homes and put up trees, but what it all comes down to is that Jesus is the reason is the we celebrate. Gold/Bronze/Silver by Colin Adams Bronze students had an ice cream social. Silver had Ice cream went outside and played board games. Gold did a little Carnival.

Secret Santa by Hannah Robinson Secret Santa was celebrated at CMS today. All of the athletes participated in the Secret Santa. They gave the needy children from Pride Head Start Program. There were many people who helped. It only took up about an hour of class time. Also during the event they ate pizza, chips, and drank Kool-Aid. It was very kind of them to take time to help the needy children.
Toy/ Coat Drive by Skyler Wellman Its not just a coat drive, but also a toy drive! In the coat and toy drive you can take a coat or a used toy and put it in the box and it goes to the needy for comfort and fun.
Thanksgiving Break by Cody Adams For Thanksgiving Break students will get out of school Wednesday- Sunday and return to school on Monday. During Thanksgiving Break is, you guessed it, Thanksgiving. During Thanksgiving Break, students will get to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families without worrying about school. Multiple things occur during Thanksgiving Break, along with Thanksgiving, Black Friday occurs. Thanksgiving Break also gives students time to relax and get away from school. History Of Thanksgiving by Kaitlynn Sheller In 1621, the Indians and the Plymouth colonists celebrated with a huge feast and they named the day Thanksgiving. For two centuries, days of Thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. In 1863, the President of United States Abraham Lincoln, proclaimed for Thanksgiving a national holiday to be held each November. The Mayflower was a boat that carried about 102 passengers. The Mayflower s first winter was brutal half of the passengers died. They died because of exposure, scurvy, and contagious outbreaks. When they were ashore on the land, and they were greeted by an Abenaki Indian in English. The Indian came back with another Indian named Squanto. Squanto taught the Pilgrims, weakened by malnutrition and illness how to cultivate corn, extract sap from maple trees, catch fish in rivers, and avoid poisonous plants. In November 1621, after the Pilgrims first corn harvest proved successful, Governor William Bradford organized a celebratory feast. He invited a group of Native Americans allies like the Wampanoag Chief. The feast lasted at least three days. The feast didn t have pies, cakes. or other deserts, which have become a hallmark of contemporary celebrations.

Snow Days By: Hunter Lambert I love snow days and everybody else does too. I like it because you can miss school but the bad part is that you have to make the days that you miss up in the summer. I also love playing in the snow. I like that you can be inside watching a good movie all warm, then you just think how cold it is outside. That s why I mostly like snow days. 21 Video Game Review By Charles Baisden If I could choose a video game to play, I would choose Fallout 4. All of the fallout games are about the 1960 s. And by that, I mean, they never ended. All of the clothes, styles, and music never ended. They ended in 2077 when nuclear war happened. But before the war resources began dwindling and that is why the fallout happened. Europe became a whole nation and then invaded the Middle East and China invaded Alaska for its never ending oil. Meanwhile America invades Canada to get to Alaska and unify the continent. Canada retaliates, while American fights of the Chinese and invades China. The United States invades China and China almost retaliates with nuclear weapons and destroys the world. A United States company named Vault Tec prepared for nuclear war. They built underground bunkers named vaults like one eleven is where your character goes before the nuclear bombs drop. You choose from a male or female character in fallout 4. I chose a male character. The male character s family has been in the Army even since WW 2 and has been put in the vault. But every good fallout player knows that the vaults were also used for experiments of the US government. Some vaults made super mutants or pumped drugs in the air. But vault one eleven was a cryopod vault and was to preserve them and it did 260 years later. A man named Kellogg kidnapped your son. For the institute they make synthetic robots that look like humans. The institute is bad for everything, bad but isn t as bad as they say it is. They are trying to preserve humanity and they aren t as bad as they seem. You can choose your ending to eat deer meat on the holidays. I like that idea. Happy holidays!

Book Review A new book that is coming out in 2016 is Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Thrust into an unfamiliar world by a stranger with a dangerous agenda, Etta is certain of only one thing: she has traveled not just miles but years from home. And she s inherited a legacy she knows nothing about from a family whose existence she s never heard of. Until now. A brief section of music composed of a series of notes and flourishes.a journey by water; a voyage. The transition from one place to another, across space and time. Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey across centuries and continents, piecing together clues left behind by the traveler who will do anything to keep the object out of the Ironwoods grasp. But as they get closer to the truth of their search, and the deadly game the Ironwoods are playing, treacherous forces threaten to sep-arate Etta not only from Nicholas but from her path home. This book has good reviews and I would recommend it.
Christmas Christmas is a special holiday. It is celebrated on December 25. It is about the birth of Christ. As a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. The humble birth of Jesus Christ was never intended to conceal the reality that God was being born into the world. Without forsaking His divine nature or diminishing His deity, He was born into our world as a tiny infant. He was fully human, with all the needs and emotions that are common to us all. Yet He was also fully God--all wise and all powerful. For nearly 2,000 years, debate has been raging about who Jesus really is. Cults and skeptics have offered various explanations. They say He is one of many gods, a created being, a high angel, a good teacher, a prophet, and so on. The common thread of all such theories is that they make Jesus less than God. But the biblical evidence is overwhelming that this child in the manger was the incarnation of God. Opinion Poll By Kristen Hall Which holiday do you love more Thanksgiving or Christmas? 21 people chose Christmas 19 people chose Thanksgiving 2 undecided
Motivational Speaker by Jasmine Meadows Morris Morrison was brought to our high school to talk to us about motivation so I ve decided to wright a motivation story about him. Morris Morrison in New York City with the death at a young age. His mother a beautiful actress and his dad a drug dealer. His mother was a beautiful and talented actress who started using drugs later after having Morrison. His mother moved to New York City before having Morrison and bought drugs from her husband or Morrison s dad. And when she couldn t repay him he put her out on the street as a prostitute. But she was found dead in a hotel room at age 23. But then little baby Morrison was adopted by his foster parents. But on Morison s 15 th birthday his foster dad was falsely accused of killing a man. Then he lost his grandmother after that in a comma. Her son getting arrested put her in a comma. And he lost her 3 weeks later. But with his grandmothers last words he said he would be successful. And made a lot of promises to her he kept. Later he went to college and found his wife and proposed around Christmas. Later they were supposed to have 4 kids at once but lost them all. But then on Morrison s birthday a little girl was supposed to come came early and had to fight for its life with its parent s. But she came through and it talking, crawling and walking. But something else that had happened was his foster dad was released from prison and is now a reformed man. And that is Morrison story.
Prayer Club Food Basket Pictures Prayer Club at CMS is greatly appreciated. Not only do they hold service for the students weekly but they get the students involved. They collect can food several times a year in order to prepare food baskets to be given out to students and their families at CMS. God is good and we praise his name at CMS.
Food Baskets by Tony Ferrell The Prayer Club Food Baskets are about giving to those in need. To the people that can t afford food for themselves on the holidays. It is a very good program for the ones in need. Now Prayer Club it s self is a club for people who need and worship god just like church. But I will tell you right now that it is a good program where everyone is welcome.
