Board Report Appendix I Sonia Gabrilovich District Secretary Thank you to everyone who has sent me a board report so far! They all look great and I m excited about all of the work you ve been doing. Important Updates: I ve edited some of the policy codes that I would like to propose during this board meeting for approval at the LTC board meeting. The changes entail MRF clarifications and cosmetics changes to the policy codes. o In the section about Socials: In order to be considered a social, the members of the club must be aware that the social is taking place ahead of time, and there must be an open invitation for the social. The social may be after a service project or fundraiser as long as everyone participating in the service project or fundraiser is invited. o In the Section about Administrative hours (AD): The most common examples of administrative hours are scrapbook meetings, planning banquets and special meetings, BOARD MEETINGS, COMMITTEE MEETINGS, MEMBERSHIP DRIVES, meeting preparation, etc. This DOES NOT INCLUDE regular club meetings counted either. DCM's (Divisional Council Meetings) with your Lt. Governor count here as AD. PCM s (President s Council Meetings) count as General Administrative (see below). o Interclubs (IN): An interclub is a visit by at least two members of your club to a function of another member of the K-family, whether it is to a meeting or an event. Assisting at a project of another K Family club counts as both an interclub and community service Interclub points are Completed Projects: Created a pocket directory Updated all Reflectors and changed the picture on the board reflector. Released the Service Pack for the District Directory. I plan to release another one in the next week or so with more updates (sorry Alex!) Released my first District Mailing. Helped Shaine with the MD&E Presentation. Attended Citrus and Evergold DCM.

calculated by multiplying the number of members in attendance by the number of miles traveled. Hours participating in projects and socials are recorded elsewhere on the MRF. From now on I will be taking a closer look at the breakdown of everyone s MRF every month to make sure that their socials, admin hours and other hours are legitimate. I want to make sure everyone is on an equal footing especially since clubs are getting more competitive for awards. o I n the next few months, especially in August, I will be sending each secretary an audited MRF using the Track Changes feature so that they can correct any inconsistencies etc. I did not do this before because I didn t realize how confusing the MRF is and I did not understand it completely myself. Now that I have a firm grasp of it I can make sure that everyone else is doing it right too!! PlaNS: Release Service Pack III Release Summer Mailing Part II in July/Early August Audit MRFs Complete a Secretary guide with Shaine s help Complete an MRF guide. Release PCM meeting minutes! (I apologize that I haven t done it sooner).

Appendix II Florida District of Circle K District Treasurer s Report Summer Board Retreat- July 13, 2008 I. Review of District Goals Membership: 557 Clubs Chartered this year (since April 1 st ): 1 Clubs in Good Standing: 18 II. Progress Toward Personal Goals: District Level Outreach: To date, I ve presented a worksheet explaining the various aspects of Outreach while brainstorming ideas for the program. I ve also drafted a letter for Circle K support to send to Kiwanis clubs, and plan on creating an Outreach certification process for members interested in presenting workshops to Kiwanis on CKI support. District Fundraisers: I am considering researching costs for a permanent fundraiser for the Florida similar to the Kiwana- perhaps a permanent district pin we can use (similar to the CKI membership pin except for the district). I have spoken with UCF club treasurer about a cruise. Tim has looked into raffling off a district cruise to benefit the Florida District of CKI. Key to College Grant: I am working with Dr. Joyce Taylor to develop a grant the Florida District of Kiwanis Foundation and the Kiwanis International Foundation that the district has previously worked on. Currently, I have talked to our Key to College chair about developing resources for the grant submission. The Kiwanis International aspect must be submitted by November 15 th and the matching portion for the Florida Foundation is due by December 31 st. We are planning on working out a timeline for receiving all materials required for the project. Service Fundraiser: When I ran for district treasurer, one of things I asked is whether clubs would be interested in the creation of a district fundraiser for a charity (similar to the Six Cents). After asking whether members felt the fundraiser should be a long-term project or something similar to the Governor s Project chosen on an annual basis, most clubs felt it would be more logical to work on a district project related fundraiser each year since most clubs work on the Governor s Project. I have currently spoken with the Project Chair and am researching organizations that would go along with the District Project. Hopefully, I would like to have a fundraiser in place by Winter Board Retreat for the present year. I would also like to see it in place so the Governor suggests 2-3 organizations and the board or members choose which organization they would

like to work with for that year. Projects would be responsible for helping promote the project and the District Treasurer would be responsible for tracking our fundraising totals. Making Memories: I am currently working on a project for the fiftieth district convention which is called Making Memories. It has been discussed with Assistant District Administrators Maggie Gunther and John Sullivan. In addition to a brief (5-10 minutes) slideshow at District Convention of any photos this year, I plan on creating a CD for purchase at DCON this February. Although more details on specifics are to come, please be aware I will be requesting scrapbooks and any photos clubs may have (I m attempting to develop a schedule for collection to minimize the number of scrapbooks I have at one time). I have also set up an interview with Past International President Ken Burke (and SPC charter president!) as well as am working with the Alumni Association to get their input on the project. Other: I ve attended a DCM for Citrus, three for Suncoast, and one for Evergold. In addition, I ve attended Kiwanis ICON and Kiwanis meetings for the Kiwanis clubs of St. Petersburg, and Sunshine City in addition to my other required district conventions. I am also planning on attending a meeting for the Seminole Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Club of Gulf Beaches shortly. I am also possibly becoming K-Family Relations chair for USF-St. Petersburg CKI when they charter! Club Level Treasurer Communication: To date, I ve held three online Treasurer Chats on the following subjects: Club Treasurer Duties ICON Funding Grants and Donations In addition, I ve spoken with most club treasurers, sent Sonia any club treasurer information I have thus far, spoken with several club officers regarding club s problems with funding from Kiwanis clubs or schools, updated the treasurer reflector, and plan on having another Treasurer s Chat on July 15 th in regards to club shirts and dues (other dates are listed belowsome topic dates are set and have been released to club treasurers). I also plan on presenting an issue of the Treasurer s Tribune shortly. Treasurer Chat Dates: August 19th, September 16 th, October 21 st, November 18 th, December 16 th, January 20 th, February 17 th, and March 17 th Encourage communication for fundraisers/ financial success: along with encouraging club treasurers to work together on projects (Great Job Tim on the car fundraiser!), I am working on revised Treasurer s Chest, and a District Wide Grants seminar (which will be held at Eckerd College) in either mid-november or early January. Lora Reed of the West Bradenton Kiwanis Club has been working on creating a workshop program. She also works at Eckerd and seems really excited about the project. I am considering making it a two part program- one part for club grants and an afternoon part for personal grants for college students. Encouragement of Dues: I have released the first dues report for clubs in the Florida District and plan on contacting those clubs on suspended status about the option of submitting dues for at least member so they do not go to inactive status.

Awareness of Tomorrow Fund: So far, I ve distributed a flyer to each Circle K club treasurer and president, hosted a Treasurer s Chat with a focus on grant applications, sent the Tomorrow Fund application out to clubs, and written articles Kapers so far. Improvement of Club Officer training: I have requested the dues PowerPoint from International, and a screenshot of the process to be included in the club treasurer s manual. I am also attempting to develop a two-part club training program so the same information won t be repeated, but rather grown upon. I am also considering designing a shortened program for LTG s to present at their Divisional retreats. Membership Benefits: I had created a scholarship manual; unfortunately, it was destroyed due to power failure. By IDEAS, I plan on having this finalized. In addition to placing all district and International scholarships, Lt. Governor Krystal came up with a great idea to contact Kiwanis clubs to see if they offer scholarships for Circle K members or college students.

Appendix III Citrus Division Lt. Governor Report Sunday, July 13, 2008 Maggie Gilson University of Central Florida- Currently has 29 dues paid members, 9 of which are brand new members which they recruited at the end of the spring semester and throughout summer. Past Events: o They have done numerous fundraisers that include: Rent-a-ckier Date Auction Car Raffle They have been staying active throughout the summer with service projects such as: o Salvation Army o Coalition for the Homeless Upcoming Events: o o They have also been attending at least one freshman orientation a week to recruit members. For the Governor s project, UCF is holding a book drive and collecting books for national literacy month. UCF had 2 district officers attend KiwanICON. Stetson- During the spring semester Stetson had 12 dues paid members, after much PR they now have 21 dues paid members and are waiting to be officially re-chartered. Past Events: o They ended off the spring semester with 3 big events Volunteered alongside Deland Kiwanis club and Deland High School Key Club at a junior Olympics for kids Volunteered at a 5K race sponsored by the Deland Kiwanis club. Car wash on their campus that benefitted The Chase Academy, which is a local school for children with autism. From this fundraiser they were able to donate $100 to the school. Upcoming Events: o This semester Stetson will be heavily involved with Into the Streets (ITS), which is a community service program hosted by Stetson that serves the community on a regular basis o They plan on being regulars at the Habitat for Humanity builds in Deland. Sometimes the two events run in conjunction with each other. o They plan on hosting a lot of their own events, such future projects include Car washes Boys and girls club The Chase Academy The Chisolm Center They have amazing recruitment plans for over the summer and the fall semester. They are targeting first year students as well as upper-classmen.

Bethune Cookman University- Upcoming Events: o Bethune is participating in a flag football/basketball tournament for their members. o They are also thinking of sponsoring a half time show for a sports game. o For recruitment, they are planning on having a BBQ at the end of summer. Florida Southern College- Robyn Pinder is still my contact for FSC, and I haven t heard much from her about this club. She says she sends out the s and information I send to her, but I hear nothing from the club members. My next plan of action to help this problem is to contact Brian Knowles, whose Kiwanis club sponsors FSC. I want to learn the opinion from their sponsored Kiwanis club how they feel FSC is doing and what I can do to help. Southeastern University- The bad news is that it has been about 2 months since I ve heard back from Heather Howard. I still send out s, calls and texts like a stalker LTG, but no response. I have no more personal contacts. The good news is that I have meet with Mr. Matthew Cantrall and we formulated a plan of action for SEU. We are going to find out when they have freshman orientations, and a group from UCF is going to go down and help out with PRing to recruit members and put the CKI name out there. Florida Institute of Technology- I am still talking with Bryan Tucker about the contacts he has for FIT that are willing to help me with rebuilding the club. It is a slow process making a plan of action with him, but we are developing a definite set plan to put into action. I found out that my friend from high school who just got back from the Army is going to FIT, so I did some amazing convincing, and the conclusion was that she might not want to be a member but she will definitely help with the PR and recruiting to find more people (along with Bryan Tucker s people) that are interested in helping with the FIT CKI club. Citrus Divisional Council Meeting #1- The Amazing Mighty Citrus division had their first DCM on June 29 at the Steak and Ale House in Orlando. 24 people in attendance (Thank you to all who came) Divisional Project- The Citrus Division is collecting books for national literacy month, which also counts towards the Governor s project. A clothing drive for all aged children. o We already have 2 trash bags of clothes and 2 bags of stuffed animals donated. Governor s Project- UCF is having a book drive where they are collecting books to donate to our local youth organizations we sponsor. Personal Goals- Sending an official 9 people to the CKI International Convention, with a potential officer from Stetson. To get FIT, FSC, and SEU back up and running and hopefully in good club standing by the end of the CKI year. Finish the Citrus Chronicle by the end of July.

Work with Matthew Cantrall for SEU. Work with Brian Knowles for FSC. Keep working with Garth Jenkins who is helping out tremendously with Stetson and Bethune. Charter at Brevard Community College. CLUB STATUS Johnson & Wales University, North Miami Appendix IV EVERGOLD DIVISION CIRCLE K INTERNATIONAL SUMMER BOARD MEETING REPORT Presented: July 11-13, 2008 By: Kamilah Harris, Lieutenant Governor GOOD STANDING This club is on hiatus until September. The new leadership board is hard at work researching, planning, and preparing for the upcoming year. In fact, officers and members in the Miami area will be having a table at the Fast Track Freshman Orientation to attract members to the club. The president is working on attending ICON. They have been attending the online district meetings. Florida International University, South Contact the former President Kerri Chin-Quee and she stated that the club has a new president. Although being in consistent contact with her and other members of the former board of officers has been difficult to their lack of feedback and response, I am going to continue to try to get as much information on this club as I possibly can in order it to be reactivated for the upcoming academic year. Shannon Love, District Treasurer has offered to help me in this effort and I appreciate that. Florida Atlantic University The first Divisional Council Meeting was held on campus on June 14 th. Much thanks to them for coordinating, planning, and hosting that in conjunction with Citrus LTG. Maggie Gilson. They installed officers through a pinning ceremony at the DCM and have been active over the summer. Their faculty advisor, Ms. Maggie Gunther duly resigned so the search is on for them to install a new one before the school year begins. St. Matthews University Have not gotten in contact with them as of yet but will do so by the end of the month. DeVry University, Miramar They have been hosting events over the summer and average about 6-10 members per meeting at this point. With consideration that they are on a trimester system with a high student population turnover rate, I plan to work more closely with them to see how we can bring some more stability to the club despite the reality of their campus. NEW AND REBUILDS Northwood University Contacted Ms. Kelly Fason and she was insightful to me about this club and its status. She has stepped up to take on the role of the new Faculty Advisor. She disclosed to me that the university is going through a huge transition with key administrators having left. They are in the process of hiring new personnel including a new Director of Student Activities. There has been some past internal issues that have occurred that explains the club s inactivity. There were problems with the past faculty advisor and some club presidents. As a result of this, a lof of good members

had fell off and left. This club is on a trimester system like JWU and DeVry. It is an All Business major university. They begin school in September and Ms. Fason plans to have a table out during welcome week to attract students to join. She has also stressed to me the importance of the district events being better than they are. There has been much complaint in the past by members of their CKI that the district events they attended were very boring and uninviting to them. She has high expectations for the district board especially myself as LTG. My goal is to not let her down for the sake of that club succeeding and because whe is K-Family. CKI is needed on that campus. We are going to custom CKI to their university letting them have a non-traditional CKI club. I will continue to keep in touch with her and we need to find a Kiwanis Club in the area of that campus to sponsor the club and help her out with recruitment. That support is needed badly. University of Miami I have called the Office of Student Activities and left a message. I am working to find out the status on the New Student Organization Registration packet that was submitted to their Committee on Student Organizations (COSO) back in April/May by Ashley Davidson. Ashley was a graduating senior when she did this so the club is left without a president or student contact. On a better note, the club does have a Sponsoring Kiwanis Club and that is the Coral Gables Kiwanis Club. Their old Kiwanis Club Sponsor had disbanded and they stepped up to the plate. Mr. Douglas Kellner, Current President of the Coral Gables Kiwanis Club is the main contact. Their Faculty Advisor is Mr. Keith Fletcher and I do not know yet what his position is on campus. Once I know the registration packet status, I will be able to proceed with further efforts to get this club going. New World College of the Arts This is a club that Ms. Carmen Calzon and Kiwanis 25 LTG. Elect Maria Cruz has been working on. Only they have the most knowledge on the status of this effort. Once I know what is to come of this, everyone will know. Nova Southeastern University Some research has been done on the campus and their student activities. Their main campus is located in Davie, FL. During the week of August th, the campus will be hosting their NSU Exploration Week where at the end of that week, there will be an event called Sharkapolooza. Part of the experience is their annual Got Wood? event, which is the name of their club and organizations fair. I plan to make contact with them soon. If there is anyone who has a suggestion on a Kiwanis Club I should approach for sponsorship of this club, those are being accepted now. Miami Dade College, Homestead This is a club that Ms. Carmen Calzon and Kiwanis 25 LTG. Elect Maria Cruz has been working on. Only they have the most knowledge on the status of this effort. Once I know what is to come of this, everyone will know. Miami Dade College, Main Have not gotten in contact with them as of yet but will do so by the end of the month. According to the potential clubs report, this college has a main contact in Ms. Samia Taoulost. I have contacted her but the phone number that is listed in the potential clubs report is no longer in service. I have also ed her but she has not responded. If there any other information that can be given to me on this club, I would appreciate receiving it. Florida International University, North There are some students who are interested in forming this club and the Kiwanis Club of North Miami Beach- Sunny Isles Beach had expressed interest in sponsoring that club which would make Mr. Jeffrey Berson a possible Sponsoring Kiwanis Club Advisor candidate. I plan to make contact soon with one of the students who is interested in helping build this club.

Florida Memorial University This is a club that Ms. Carmen Calzon and Kiwanis 25 LTG. Elect Maria Cruz has been working on. Only they have the most knowledge on the status of this effort. Once I know what is to come of this, everyone will know. St. Thomas University This is a club that Ms. Carmen Calzon and Kiwanis 25 LTG. Elect Maria Cruz has been working on. Only they have the most knowledge on the status of this effort. Once I know what is to come of this, everyone will know. Barry University Mr. Robert Scully is a faculty member at the university and is the main contact of this club. He has not proclaimed that he is the faculty advisor but he has identified that the Kiwanis Club of Margate/Coconut Creek is the Sponsoring Kiwanis Club. I would like to make contact with the Kiwanis Club but I need contact information. Palm Beach Community College Contacted the Office of Student Activities at the Lake Worth Campus and they have stated that CKI is in their records but has been inactive for a very long time. Records are going to be sent to me. According to the potential clubs report, they were chartered in 1997 and they have a faculty advisor. There is no record stated of who their Sponsoring Kiwanis Club is. Hopefully, I can get that information soon. Palm Beach Atlantic University Contacted Ms. Iva Locklair, Sponsoring Kiwanis Club Advisor and she gave me the contact information of the Club President that I will submit to Sonia. She also told me that the club has 5 members including the new club president. Plans are in progress for the club to be active in the fall where their academic year begins in August. Great Stuff!! PROGRAMMING SPECIAL PROGRAMS LTG Real World Program This is a great and important program. I love club visits and as my home club s founder and immediate past president, I valued and appreciated when district board members were able to come to my campus and meet up with us. However, I hated when they had to go after 30 minutes or an hour. Therefore, I came up with an idea. Clubs will have the chance to get and have the LTG all to themselves for a full weekend. Whatever the club wants the LTG to attend and participate in for 3 days and 2 nights is what the LTG will do. I will provide gas money and bring whatever materials I have that they would like. All they have to provide for me is an itinerary, a ride, and a place to sleep, preferably on campus in a club member or officer s dorm room if allowed. It is all about me experiencing a day in the life of the clubs as well as what it is like to walk a mile in their shoes. Fundraise Your Way Program This was inspired by something that I conceptualized for my home club based on ideas of the members. Minifundraisers or personal fundraising is something that club officers and members can do to target their proceeds to a certain focus. For example, Kelly is a member of the club and she wants attend DCON but she does not have any money. Well, Kelly can fundraise her way to DCON in various ways with little to no expense. From sponsorships of local businesses to being their own individual mobile snack shop on campus, CKI members and officers can fundraise outside of the box by holding members accountable individually to be proactive about their membership with consideration that money is an object. I want to provide plenty of ideas and resources that can be used by clubs for individual members and officers to fundraise their way to do things. The same can be said about collective fundraising where the clubs can know exactly how much they need to raise in order to successfully execute what they want.

SERVICE PROJECTS Governor s Focus: Literacy A few service projects will be done by the division relative to this focus. The details will be determined soon. LTG s Focus: Hunger Crises A few service projects will be done by the division relative to this focus. The details will be determined soon. FUNDRAISERS Divisional Pride Items Currently, the division is having a t-shirt design contest. All designs for consideration must be submitted by September 1 st. The prize for the winning design will be a Starbucks Gift Card and a free shirt. T-Shirts and other items will be sold to help the division raise money for events and activities. Ideas for types of apparel and promotional items that we should have for sale are being accepted now. Eat With Purpose Socials This is inspired by our District Treasurer, Shannon Love. Bi-monthly, the division shall have a social where we all get to go out to eat and help our division raise money with their purchases. One of the restaurants that have been considered is Chevys in Miami. Other locations will be looked into where we can make money while we eat. If you have ideas on this, please do not hesitate to share. MISCELLANEOUS Pride Evergold Division is in need of some spirit and pride traditions. Therefore, a temporary logo is installed. It will change when the number of good standing clubs increases. We will also have a divisional cheer, song, mascot, and slogan/motto. Ideas for other ways divisional pride and spirit can be expressed are being accepted now. MEETINGS DIVISIONAL COUNCIL MEETINGS June 14 th - FAU July No Meeting August 6-9 th - Denver, Colorado 29 th -31 st Camp Kiwanis: Ocala, FL September DeVry* October Online & IDEAS* November FIU* December JWU*^ January FAU* *Dates: TBD; ^Special Meeting SPECIAL MEETINGS Consultations Online and Phone Only! Clubs should able to get the help that they need when they need it. They should not have to always rely on the frequency of visits to their campus to get the advice that they need. I will do consultations in person when I visit and when we have regular DCMs if it is imperative but these sessions are distinctly for convenience and quicker turnaround. As a club founder and immediate past president, I know how important these sessions are to the betterment of a club. I want to bring that to the clubs of my area as a 24/7service.

Evergold Bling Awards February, 2009 Awards should not always have to be on a district, international, or club level. Divisions can give out awards, too. Therefore, I want to celebrate the accomplishments of the clubs in our area by having an awards ceremony prior to DCON. We will celebrate the year and hear from those who may be in the running to lead the division in Ideas for this event from the location, to food, to décor, and theme among other things are now being accepted. Evergold Holiday Party December, JWU Our division will have the opportunity to have a social that is unlike any other. This is our holiday party that will have Secret Santa, a service project, DCM, food, and fun all rolled into one. It will take place on the campus of Johnson & Wales University, North Miami as it will be their turn to host a DCM. Ideas for this event are being accepted now. Pass The Gold Zone Rally April, 2009 This is the final event for me as LTG while it will be the first event for the LTG. It is going to be a transition conference for our clubs. It is an opportunity for old club officers to interact with new club officers and pass the torch or in our case, the gold. It will also be an opportunity for unchartered or new clubs being built to interact with us for the first time and get the help that they need going into the summer to prepare for the upcoming year. 17 FINAL REMARKS I am finalizing plans to attend LSSP and/or ICON in Denver, Colorado as well as LTC. I am accepting bookings for me to visit campuses via my LTG Real World Program during the months of September and October right now. Keep me in your thoughts as I have been having a trying and depressing summer at home in Los Angeles but I am trying hard to remain busy and remain positive. If there is anything that anyone needs from me, please let me know and I look forward to seeing you all in Denver. Take Care!!

Appendix V Brian J Rigney Board Report Summer Board Retreat Brian thanks all of those who made the choice of appointing him Panhandle Lieutenant Governor at DOTC. He has been very busy since the last board meeting trying to better the Panhandle Division. He happily reports that FSU is unofficially active this summer. They are meeting and having a service project nearly every week. He has had very successful communicaton with FSU s President, Myah Smith. He also reports that, after a lot of effort, he has finally established a steady line of Communication with UWF s president Caitlyn Blizzard. UWF is inactive for the summer and will start again with the school year. Panhandle Division Administrator Jack Gander say that the UWF Circle K club is mostly sorority girls. To fix this problem, Brian plans to encourage UWF to recruit a more diverse population in the upcoming year. The first Panhandle DCM will be held right before ICON, on August 4 th in Panama City. Everyone is encourage to go. One important point of the DCM will be to make progress with chartering Gulf Coast Community College. Brian has found a Kiwanis club that would like to sponsor the GCCCCKI. Brian has been visiting and plans to visit lots of Kiwanis clubs to selling tickets for the Sizzlin Summer Sweepstakes. If you haven t sold tickets, you are encouraged to do so because Tim was good enough to make this fundraiser possible, but he needs our help. Also, the Panhandle division will be sending one person to the International Convention, that is Myah Smith from FSU. FAMU should definitely be reactivated this year. Myah just has a contact, her sister, who is a student at FAMU. Also, Distinguished Lieutenant Governor James Eisele plans on attending FAMU in the Fall semester. GO TEAM

Appendix VI Sarah Strickland Summer Board Report Florida College They had elections and seem very excited about this new year. They are currently on summer vacation so the club is not active right now. Hillsborough Community College We have approval from the school s activity office to have a Circle K. We are currently trying to find a faculty member that would like to be the advisor. We are also waiting for a reply from Tampa Kiwanis about supporting the college. University of Tampa They are also not active right now because majority of the members are at home for the summer. They are planning on doing PCAT in the fall. This is a service project that goes along with Kadie s project to help children s literacy skills. University of South Florida-Tampa I ve tried to contact the faculty advisor to see if they know anyone that is still interested in being a part of the club, but I have had no response. I m planning on going to the club fair and getting CKI known to the students. Hopefully this will bring some dedicated people! Art Institute of Tampa Shannon has heard of a possible interest to have a club here. She is getting into contact with Mike Dema. Hopefully this will lead to something! Other Updates I have released the first edition of the Sunbelt Times. I plan on releasing them every other month, at the end of the month. The first DCM for our division will be at LTC. Then I will have another DCM on September 6 th. We will be doing a service project dealing with Kadie s literacy project.

Appendix VII Suncoast Division LTG Report Krystal Weaver July 13 th 2008 Eckerd: I have some information and the treasurer has been showing interest in the Division and the District! YAY FGCU: FGCU has 2 members attending ILSSP and ICON. During the summer we have been visiting an assisted living facility and have been playing BINGO with the ladies who live there. We also have been volunteering at Caloosa Elementary School every week with their Pre-K program, helping the teachers with the kids. We had a face painting fundraiser, two car washes, and a garage sale to help raise money for ICON. The officers have also been meeting and are working hard with ideas and projects for the upcoming school year. We are super excited and can't wait to get back to school and in the swing of things! MCC Bradenton: 8 of them are attending LSSP and ICON. Brandon has resigned and Ashley Drachler is the new President. They have been selling raffle tickets with Tim and working hard over the summer to stay active. They have recently gained a few members and they have already got a great start on the Divisional project! MCC Venice: Tim has members ready to jump on board. He just needs a faculty advisor. He has found three Kiwanis clubs that want to help sponsor and he is getting to know them more and more. SPC: SPC is having their last official meeting on the 15 th of this month, but they will still be participating in projects and events throughout the summer and having unofficial meetings at Treasurer Nick s house. Shannon has also notified me of another up and rising SPC club in the Suncoast Division! More information is to come! USF Sarasota: They had a pot luck picnic that went pretty well. They are recruiting members over the summer, and Valerie (president) is going to ICON. USF St. Pete: Adalyz is doing great with a faculty and Kiwanis advisor now. She has members and has been recruiting like crazy, as well as tabling with projects and recruitment information. She was able to put a flyer in every orientation packet that went out to ALL new students! Suncoast Spectacular: This was a great weekend with about 35 people doing service, learning leadership skills, and meeting new people. We started with a service project at the F.I.S.H. preserve where members got down and dirty in the water clearing kayaking paths and picking up trash. We then had lunch hosted by the West Bradenton Kiwanis Club. After that we broke up in teams and groups and did icebreakers, workshops, and team bonding skills. Each member paid $10.00 which guaranteed a

shirt and meal for them. We had our DCM on Sunday and everyone traveled home. There were only a few injuries and the weekend went pretty well overall! Suncoast Shirts The Suncoast Division is getting T-shirts!!! The first batch of shirts has been ordered but there is still time to order more! The shirts are $10.00 and they have the picture on the top of the report on the back with a picture of Florida (outlining the Suncoast Division) with a sunburst and the Circle K symbol on the front left breast. If ANYONE is interested in buying a shirt, please let me know! Thanks! Governors Project: I am holding a divisional project each month that goes along with Kadie s Literacy project. This month we are making books for Elementary aged children. The books range from activity, coloring, or lesson books. If any one wants to help out just let me know, the more books the merrier. Thanks Other: I have now held 3 DCM s and published 3 Suncoast Servicers, I will be holding another DCM, and ing out the next Servicer on July 20 th at 10:00PM online. Everyone is welcome and I would love to hear from you all. There is also a Facebook group for the Suncoast Division! Anyone can join and learn about the events in the division as well as see great pictures from all over!
