1 IP, LLC Insider 2nd Quarter 2016 Vol. 5 Ed. 2 Jeff A Visit to the Heinz History Center Katie We met on the North Shore and walked over to the Heinz History Center on a warm day in March. Katie s favorite activity was in the new toy exhibit playing the arcade games with a free token she received upon arrival. She played Donkey Kong. Jeff s favorite activity was also getting to use his token at the arcade. He chose a pinball game. Jeff was so inspired by the Rock em Sock em Robots that he researched similar items from that time, Karate fighters, and shared his research with the group. Other items of interest were rotary phones, Etch A Sketch, and the Simon game. We suggest you check it out!

The total cost of her cute Valentine s Day wreath was $4.24. What a steal! She loved the method she used to make this wreath so much that she made one for St.

2 JOYCE S VALENTINE S DAY WREATH Joyce lives in an apartment complex where everyone hangs wreaths or some type of decoration on their doors. Every time the holiday changes, the wreaths & decorations change, too. Joyce wanted to share a picture of the wreath that she made for Valentine s Day with all of you. The total cost of her cute Valentine s Day wreath was $4.24. What a steal! She loved the method she used to make this wreath so much that she made one for St. Patrick s Day and wanted to share the directions with all of you! Supplies: 2 wire wreath frames Garland Ribbon Foam Stickers Tape Directions: Tie ribbon to one of the two inner rings on the wreath frame. Wrap the ribbon around the two inner rings. Tape the end of the ribbon down in the back of the wreath. Tie the garland to one of the outer rings on the wreath frame. Wrap the garland around the two outer rings; until well covered. Tuck the end of the garland in between the wrapped garland. Stick the foam stickers to the ribbon on the inner ring of the wreath frame. Create a loop with ribbon at the top of the wreath to use as a hanger.

3 Melody and I had a good time at the prom. We had chaperones. They stayed with us and got to ride in the limo with us. I got to walk down the red carpet and the people were cheering. We had dinner there. We had all kinds of dessert and the beverages were water or lemonade. We got to wear tiaras and watch a video of Tim Tebow. ~Arlene Arlene

4 I went to see Blake Shelton in concert. It was excellent. He is a good singer. The concert was very crowded. A couple of the slow songs he did with just his guitar. I liked his song "Sangria, which I heard many times before. I, also, liked his duet "Lonely". If he ever comes back in concert, I will go, if I'm able to. ~Beth

IP, LLC Summer Garden Last year, Cindy S. planted a garden with her clients. Here is a little information in regard to their experience with gardening.

5 IP, LLC Summer Garden Last year, Cindy S. planted a garden with her clients. Here is a little information in regard to their experience with gardening. There was a lot of work getting our garden started. We had to pull weeds and dig up the dirt. When it was time to put the vegetables in the ground we used some seeds and some small plants from the nursery. We planted zucchini, cauliflower, tomatoes, green peppers, chili peppers, radishes and three different kinds of lettuce. An animal ate all of the lettuce. We, also, planted lavender and strawberries. One of the jobs Gael liked the most was weeding. Heikeem s favorite part was eating the harvest of grape tomatoes. They are hoping to have more participants help with the IP, LLC Summer Garden this year. It will be located beside Little House Big Art (938 Haslage Ave. Pittsburgh 15212). An IP, LLC garden calendar has been created. On this calendar, Cindy will be posting weekly volunteer opportunities. When clients have volunteered at the IP, LLC garden if staff could be so kind as to post on the garden calendar when you and your clients have stopped by and what tasks were worked on (weeding, watering, etc.). This will help with communicating what has been completed that week. If you have clients that are in need of fresh vegetables please let Cindy know. We are going to set up a system to get our harvest to those whom are interested. If you have any questions, you may contact Cindy. 6 Mosanine s birthday and Monday night RAW were both happening in March. What a great combination! I did research on Facebook in regard to where I could obtain Monday Night Raw gear for Mosanine s birthday, since he loves WWE wrestling. I contacted the Kevin Croney Foundation. Shari Croney surprised Mosanine at Funfest with two tickets to Monday Night Raw, 3 t-shirts and a Bella Twin Diva Champion hat. He loved it! He was so excited! Nate and I were able to see Monday Night Raw with Mosanine and Meghan on March 14 th at the Consol Energy Center. Prior to attending the big show the four of us went to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner. We all had a blast that night. Seeing the smiles on their faces during the main event was priceless. Their faces glowed with enjoyment! Nate s favorite wrestlers were Roman Reigns and Paige, a Diva Champion. Mosanine s favorite wrestler was The Rock. ~Jamie

7 Chris At the Heinz History Center, a relative of Chris is recognized for playing marbles...an old favorite pastime. Chris was very proud to come across this find while exploring the exhibits.

We had lunch and then the award ceremony followed.

8 Jen, Jean and I attended the Allegheny Valley Hospital volunteer luncheon on April 14th. It was held at Hillcrest Country Club. We had lunch and then the award ceremony followed. I was acknowledged for volunteering over 100 hours and received a pin to add to my volunteer I.D. I enjoyed the ceremony and the food was excellent. Your Friend, Nate

Since this game requires the table to stay as still as possible, only two players compete per round. SUCK IT UP: Players place a straw in their mouth and use suction to transfer a pile of 25 M&M s from one plate to another in under one minute. Only one hand may be used to hold the straw. Everyone gets to eat their candy when the round is finished!

12 Hi, this is Heikeem. As most of you know I am crazy about Ninjas. I like to draw Ninjas. Ms. Lori is a partner of a boutique near me called Mustard and Relics. She asked me the other day if I ever considered selling my ninja artwork. So I decided I would make cards. She sells them at her store for me. So far, I have made cards for Christmas, New Year s, Valentine s Day and Easter. I have made about $120, since I started doing this project. I sell each card for $2.00. Here are a few examples of my Mother s Day and Father s Day cards.
