1 CROSSFIRE Interchurch Singles Ministry Serving Harrisburg / Carlisle / Lancaster Areas Newsletter October/November 2017 Volume 39, Issue 10 Connecting single adults to God and each other in authentic, Christ-centered community Breaking Bread A LOT! Fellowship and food go together; there s no denying it. Even Jesus instituted Communion (with food) at the Last Supper (food and fellowship). Clearly CROSSFIRE believes in it. Look at our schedule of events for October and November. Turkey, ham, pork, and meatballs are on the menus at the Amish Dinner Out at Naomi s Kitchen in Newburg, the annual Pig Roast and Dance at the Carlisle Fish & Game, and the Community Night at Young s UMC in Mechanicsburg. Also on the schedule are dining at Garfield s in Lancaster, Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant, Lower Allen Diner in Camp Hill after bowling, breakfast at Hershey Farm Restaurant, and food and desserts at Café Chocolate & Bistro in Lititz for a games night. In fact, we have four games nights in the next two months and they all will have snacks and desserts. The games night on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend features everyone sharing Thanksgiving dinner leftovers! Maybe CROSSFIRE needs a diet program, too. The Cavern Club Returns The Beatles tribute band The Cavern Club returns to CROSSFIRE dances twice more this year! They are such a hit, we re having them back in Lititz on October 28 for a Costume Dance, and in Carlisle on November 18. If you love Beatles music and you haven t seen The Cavern Club yet, don t miss this wonderfully talented band! Annual Pig Roast & Dance This event at the Carlisle Fish & Game moves from September to October this year and from now on for easier scheduling. Remember, it s $15 at the door on October 14, but you can get discounted admission of $12 by mailing a check to CROSSFIRE before October 7. Bunco & Bowling are Back With the arrival of the fall season, bowling is back on November 4, and we ll have Black Friday Bunco game night again this year on November 24. But yesterday changed that thinking!!
