Remember to get your adults and children registered before tagging day! There is a $10 fee for each youth. The registration is not complete until the money is paid online or taken to the office. Adults are paid for by the college. This fee will cover... ~ Insurance ~ Online Fee ~ Enrollment Fee ~ Background Check (Adults) Get registered now! Tagging Day: Jan. 6th - Beef Tagging Mar. 3rd - Swine, Sheep & Goats - Call Shelly for locations, times and Registration info. Contact Shelly Mark your calendar for Feb. 20, 5:00 for the Livestock Feeding Seminar, at the school district office. Watch for future Clinics coming during the year! Horse Club Millard County 4-H Horse Clubs will start in March. Get your children and adults registered so you are ready to ride. Civil Rights Disability Etiquette According to the 2011 American Community Survey, nearly 9% of Utah s civilian population has a disability such as hearing, vision, cognitive, ambulatory, and self-care, or independent living difficulties. Here are tips by Howard Ross, founder and chief learning officer of Cook Ross, Inc. on how to act when someone Is hearing impaired: *To get attention, first call the person s name. If there is no response, wave your hand or gently touch the person on the arm or shoulder. *Look directly at and speak directly to the deaf or hard of hearing person, not the interpreter or others who may accompany the individual. *Clarify which mode of communication and language the person prefers. Not all individuals know American Sign Language or spoken English. *Maintain eye contact. *Facial expressions and natural gestures enhance communication. Stanley M. 2 Welcome to the Millard County 4-H Team! Shelly Finlinson is the newest member of the Millard County 4-H team. Shelly was raised in Altamont, Utah in Duchesne County. She spent many years in the Livestock 4-H Program in Duchesne County; she showed cattle, pigs, sheep and horses. After High School, she attended Casper College and was a part of the Livestock Judging team. From there she went on to Utah State University to finish her Bachelors of Science Degree in Agricultural Education. She taught High School Agricultural Education at South Sevier for 2 years. She married Heber Finlinson of Oak City and that is where they currently reside. She has 2 children with one more due in March. Shelly enjoys the agricultural life and spends her time chasing kids, and cattle. She has currently been a volunteer for the Millard County Junior Livestock Show and enjoys watching kids succeed in the 4-H Program. Shelly is excited to be part of the Millard County 4-H team. Millard County 4-H Ambassadors Stuffed Animal Drive Millard County s 4-H Ambassadors are collecting new and gently used Stuffed Animals to share with local organizations: Millard County Ambulance, Sheriff s Office, Justice Center and New Horizons.
