1 February 13, 2017 EAST/NORTH TURNABOUT DANCE The East/North Turnabout Dance is on Saturday, February 18, from 8:00-11:00 PM at North (enter door #2). Tickets will be on sale for $10.00 each in the Main Commons this week from Monday, February 13 Friday, February 17, during lunch hours. If you don t have a lunch hour, see Mrs. Dandre in Student Activities Office for ticket sales. Advance sales only no tickets will be sold at the door. No guest passes for this dance. You must bring your current ID to the dance. ATTENTION PARENTS - DANCE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED East/North Dance - We need volunteers for ticket sales the week of Monday, February 13 Friday, February 17 at East and then to help at Coat Check at North on Saturday, February 18. Click on the link to sign-up! WEIGHT ROOM - OPEN The weight room is now open every day (Monday - Friday) at 2:45 for any student. You must abide by weight room rules and wear proper attire. The weight room will be open at 2:45 on early release and 3:15 on days of faculty meetings. If you have any questions please see Coach Jennison or Coach Farquar. PEER TUTORING Peer Tutoring is officially open during all lunch periods in the LRC. If you are a student looking for a little help with homework and studying, then come visit the tutoring center. We can help in all subject areas! You just need a pass from your teacher and your ID to attend. P-ARTS VARIETY SHOW Hey all EAST students! It's time to start thinking about your P-ARTS Variety Show Act! Act previews and photos are Thursday, February 16, from 2:45-5:00 p.m. in the East Band Room. Don t delay - sign-up for a time in the Student Activities Office. The Variety Show is on Friday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. and open to ALL East HS students. Questions? Cast your ballot for the design that captures the spirit of the store best. Voting is open until Tuesday, February 14. SCHOOL STORE PROMOTION For a limited time the School Store will be selling iced coffee for $2.25. French vanilla, mocha, espresso and original will all be sold starting Monday, February 6 until February 17. For every bottle you purchase, you will be able to enter into a raffle for a chance to win a date night basket with movies, candy and popcorn. CONGRATULATIONS SCHOLASTIC BOWL! Senior co-captains, Jackson Huttner and Alan Koval, finished the regular season as the top scorer and the second highest scorer in the entire Upstate Eight Conference. Way to go! Congratulations!

Focusing on leadership skills, Snowball will help you get to know yourself better and teach you to be a leader who achieves his/her goals through positive decision making. BOYS WATER POLO The Boys Water Polo Meet the Team Night will be held on Friday, March 3, at 6:30pm in the Little Theater. All boys water polo players as well as their parents should attend this meeting.

Great East specific scholarships have just been added including the Anna Daley Memorial Scholarship, the Thomas McBride Memorial Scholarship and the Tyler Caruso Memorial Scholarship. The STCE PTO announces their annual scholarship application for graduating seniors who plan to continue their education at a university, junior college, or vocational school. The PTO is offering four (4) $1000 awards. Applications are available from Mrs. Kudabeck in the College & Career Office or at east.d303.org/pto on the STCE website. Applications must be postmarked on or before April 4, IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING AN AP EXAM BUT ARE NOT ENROLLED IN THE CORRESPONDING AP COURSE: AP Testing is May 1-12, All students who are enrolled in an AP course are already registered to take the corresponding exam. If you are interested in taking an AP exam for a course in which you are not enrolled, please see Ms. Fahey in the Career and College Office as soon as possible. Students must register for additional exams by March 1 st. The cost of EACH exam you register to take is $ If the total payment is not received by Wednesday, March 1, the test(s) will not be ordered. Please note this only pertains to AP exams for courses in which you are not currently enrolled. All students who register to take an Advanced Placement test must attend a mandatory Pre-Administration session to begin preliminary AP testing paperwork. Pre-Administration sessions will be held the week of April 10 th -14 th. More information to follow on times and room location. ATTENTION: JUNIOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS We have an opportunity for Junior students to get additional practice in math in preparation for the SAT that will be administered in early April. If you have a lunch or study hall periods 4, 5, 6 or 7 and you would like to participate, please Jim Richter, Assistant Principal for Instructional Programs, at James.Richter@d303.org. Students who participate will be scheduled into Khan Academy SAT Prep and attend daily for the remainder of third quarter. For participating, students will receive a 0.25 Independent Study credit which can count towards graduation. Students are also permitted to get their lunch and bring it to the room to eat before starting.
