6 Outdoor Recreation Mon-Fri: 9am-5pm Sat: 9am-1pm (575) Sierra Blanca Hike November 14 Departs at 7:30 am Cost $25 Ever wanted to be a mountaineer? Well, here s your chance to dip your feet into the rewarding sport of Mountaineering! At an elevation of just under 12,000 ft, this mountain is the perfect introduction for beginners as well as a rewarding view from the top for all experience levels. The 2-4 hour hike measures approximately three miles and covers 1,900 ft of elevation change. Once we reach the top, we will take in the majestic views and snap a few pictures before enjoying a relaxing gondola ride back to the base of the mountain. On Belay November 18 and December 9 & 16 5:30 pm at ODR Cost $20 Master the essentials of rock climbing safety - how to tie in, belay a climber and catch a fall. At the end of the class, you will be prepared for outdoor rock climbing or belaying on our indoor wall. Climbing and Brewery November 21 Departs at 8 am Cost $40 Are you a climber? Do you want to give it try? Come join ODR for an exciting day of rock climbing. Rough and Ready is a welcoming crag outside of El Paso, TX that boasts climbs suited for people of all experience levels. Whether you want to try climbing for the first time or you re a long-time pro of the sport, you re guaranteed to have a ton of fun on this trip. At the end of the day, reward yourself for all your effort with a cold beer at a local brewery in El Paso. Cost includes transportation and climbing gear. Taos Ski Trip November Departs at 11 am Cost $200 Celebrate all that you re thankful for with your ODR family on this exciting weekend ski trip in Taos, NM. Spend your days carving the slopes, and your nights enjoying good company and tasty food around a roaring campfire. And yes, there will be turkey! Cost includes transportation, lodging, all gear for skiing and snowboarding and some meals. Ski Apache Shuttle December 5 Departs at 7 am Cost varies, see below Are you a person who loves to shred on the mountain? If so, join ODR for a fun day of snowboarding or skiing at Ski Apache. No need to use your own gas, let ODR be your driver. Cost for transportation only is $10; transportation and lift ticket is $50; transportation, lift ticket and rental gear is $75. Single Airman Ski Apache Day Trip December 12 Departs at 7 am Cost $20 Reward yourself for another week of hard work with a thrilling day of skiing or snowboarding at Ski Apache. Whether you re looking to challenge yourself with a double black diamond or cruise down an easy green, this promises to be the kind of care-free, enjoyable day in the mountains you need. Cost includes transportation, ski or snowboard rentals and lift ticket. Trip is only $10 if you have your own gear. Overnight Sipapu Ski Trip December Departs at 4:30 pm Cost $100 Tis the season! You can rent gear from the paintball range or bring your own. Single Airmen Program Initiative - Not Just for Singles! The Single Airmen Program is aimed primarily towards airmen; however it includes all active duty military members. Airmen are allowed to sign up one guest per program. This program offers a drastically subsidized price to give Airmen the chance to get out and participate in amazing programs. If these programs do not fill up approximately one week before the trip, the opportunity will be offered to the general public. Ages 18 & up welcome. Holiday No Gain, Maintain Challenge November 23 - January 4 This holiday season the only thing that should be stuffed is the turkey! Our challenge starts with a weigh-in on November 23 and ends with a final weigh-in on January 4 (weigh-in anytime during normal Fitness Center hours). The goal is to maintain your weight through the holidays. Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K Run December 11 7:30 am Breakout your best ugly sweater and wear it with pride! This 5K is sure to get lots of laughs and spread Christmas cheer to all. Intramural Sports Winter sports are right around the corner! Start preparing for flag football and basketball now. Extended Child Care: The Family Child Care program would like to remind military parents there are programs designed to assist them with their child care needs when they are required to work hours in addition to their normal duty schedule.
