Something For Everyone Celebrating Our 30th Anniversary Festival As We Return To.. D O W N T O W N C A N T O N As many of you will recall.our Italian/American Festival began 30 years ago when we were located in Downtown Canton in and around the Civic Center. After 4 successful years in that location we were invited to move our Festa to the Stark County Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds enabled us to offer a variety of exciting events. With the recent and exciting rebirth of DOWNTOWN Canton and at the invitation of City Officials, our Board of Trustees opted to return downtown to be a part of the Renaissance that is happening. Our June 23, 24, 25 Festival will occupy the area known as MARKET SQUARE. Our Main Stage will be located on Market Avenue N. facing the huge Green Space and will be offering a list of top notch entertainers. A wide selection of Italian and Festival Food vendors/merchants will be set-up on Market Ave and along 3rd and 4th Streets Between Market & Court Avenue. A Children s play area is planned. The Downtown Canton Festival is FREE! We are excited. Join us for our 30th Anniversary Celebration. We are honored to name the Awards Breakfast in his name. In life, Dominic J. Bagnoli Sr. was a Dominic Bagnoli Pix on File from determined & enthusiastic leader of our Festa. His legacy continues. 3 ENJOY FREE ENTERTAINMENT AT 2016 ITALIAN FESTIVAL LIGHTS OUT: Tribute to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons They were a smash hit last year at our Festival. The crowds went WILD. Get ready gang - they are back by popular demand! This four part vocal tribute to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons has been entertaining audiences for years by focusing on harmony and the pure sound of voices. Lights Out incorporates acapella, a Journey Through Musical Time (hits from the 50's thru the 90's), and, of course, the sounds of Frankie Valli into an exciting show that has audiences dancing, singing, & laughing throughout the show. With a lead singer whose voice is virtually identical to Frankie Valli himself, the group's personality and choreographed show leaves crowds wanting more even after..lights OUT! FRIDAY: 9:00 PM LA FLAVOUR: LaFlavour has been pleasing area audiences for years. From 1973 to 1988, they toured the major cities across the country, having made many appearances at Harrah s in Atlantic City. Currently the band has cut down on their travel by playing high profile engagements around the Akron/Canton - Cleveland area. The band is widely known by its trademark original song Mandolay which was a huge national as well as an international hit, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Chart. THURSDAY: 7:00 to 10:00 PM RAY MASSA S EURORHYTHMS: Get ready for a Feast of Italian/American Musical Tributes, from the swinging sounds of Louie Prima, smooth vocals of Dean Martin, the Harmonies of the Jersey Boys, to the current pop sounds of Italian rock. Ray Massa s Eurorhythms are a Huge Hit at Italian Festivals and Concerts all over the United States and even Italy! They promise to keep you entertained in real Italian style! We are thrilled to welcome: Ray Massa s Eurorhythms! SATURDAY: 8:15 PM GLI ITALIANI: This group of young energetic Italian guys enjoy what they do best, playing music together. They play a wide variety of music including old Italian folk songs, newer Italian hits, popular American music & more. They will have a crowd dancing and having fun all night long. The members are a group of long-time friends including Andrew Pileggi on Accordion, Keyboards & Lead Vocal, Anthony Lumpp - Bass, Matt Strobelt - Guitar & David Wilson - Drums. Don t miss them. They are a Festival Favorite! FRIDAY: 7:00 PM LINE DANCING WITH FRANK TRACE: The Italian Festival Line Dance Party with Frank Trace has become a HUGE Festival Mainstay for many years. With our move to Downtown Canton the event is sure to become an even more exciting event. Imagine Line Dancing at the Italian Festival on Market Ave. You are invited to join the fun. Watch...learn...have fun & LINE DANCE to all types of Music with Frank. SATURDAY: 12:30 to 2:30 PM MATT SHAFFER The one and only Matt Shaffer will be playing all of those favorite Italian tunes on his accordion as he strolls thru the Streets of our Festa. 5 TRADITIONAL ITALIAN FESTIVAL FAVORITES Allegro Dance Company: For over 20 years the Allegro Dance Company has been wowing crowds of all ages with their performances throughout the United States and Italy. Allegro is a professional company of young, talented men and women from Wheeling, WV. The company performs dances from the southern regions of Italy from Naples to Calabria and even into Sicily. Their shows are entertaining and high energy. They will be performing in two time slots. Bring your family/friends to Allegro's performances and celebrate the traditions of Italy! Bagnoli Awards Breakfast on Friday, June 24th at the Ballroom of the AA EXECUTIVE EVENTS CENTER. Scholarship funds are made possible thru proceeds of our annual Italian Festival.
