1 KOMFORT KRUISERS April 2017 East Shore RV Resor (San Dimas)t WAGONMASTERS:. Brady and Joanne Bolock Jim and Joanne McPheters Thursday was the day most of us arrived, some later than others. We picked up our 2017 Hurricane that day and rushed home to pack and managed to get there at 6:00. Those going to dinner were leaving at 6:00 but Terry opted to hook up instead. Someone else got there last as they had a slight gas (or Lack of) problem. Go figure. Dinner was at Roadys and those I talked to enjoyed it. Jim and Cynthia didn t make it as Jim was ill. Friday morning saw us at the Bolock s site for breakfast. The golfers left by 9:30 and people were on their own for the day. Appetizers were on the menu for dinner in the clubhouse. The theme was fishing and the decorations were adorable. We all helped cleanup as there was something else going on in the clubhouse the next day. Around the campfire that night we had a wonderful candlelight service for our three members who have gone home. Larry, Rosemary and Gary. Many memories were shared and Sharon s guest Rosie talked about Larry. Sharon C shared memories of Rosemary and everyone talked about Gary S, especially how we were all shocked by his passing. We had just talked to him in Bakersfield and he sounded so upbeat. Large pictures of the three were put up on easels. Lew and Rose came for appetizers and the candle light ceremony. Thanks Brady for putting it together. Friday night potluck Saturday night BBQ Saturday morning breakfast found us all chatting over breakfast at the Bolocks. Meeting was held outdoors. Ran into Adrian and Bill s before ours started. That couch is phenomenal. The golf trophies were front and center. Gorgeous, gorgeous coach. I think most of the campers came by to wish both coaches well. At two we were back at the Bolocks campsite for Margaritas, Pina Coladas and some kind of Puddingtone drink. Sorry I forgot to ask what was in it. By that time I was ready for a nap!! Everyone had a great time and the drinks flowed like water. Thanks for the sodas. Dinner that night was potluck and a hilarious game of cards was played. It wasn t so funny when you had to pass your cards and someone won on your cards though. Thanks Jim for being the announcer. No fire that night as the wood was all gone and it was really cold. Golf winners, Bill & Adriane Second place, Trish & Jeff Sunday morning we were back at the Bolocks for breakfast. Many hugs and kisses were shared with those that were leaving. Best part of the weekend: Seeing Art and Sylvia. He looks great. Also, Dan and Cindy are back from their loooong trip. We all got to see the original Komfor Kruiser. Hopefully we ll be seeing more of Sharon. 4 THIS AND THAT Received a note from Cynthia after the Newsletter had been sent out last month. She wanted to thank everyone who helped her in Chandler. She is so grateful. What a great group of people we have in our club. There will be many of the Regulars missing in Valencia, including us. Those grandbabies are calling us. RECIPE From the open house (submitted by Ruth Wood) Peanut butter Cookies 1 cup Peanut Butter 1 cup Sugar 1 Egg Mix and roll into 1 inch or smaller balls. Richard Ibarra received the following from the SOI RV Club inviting us to the Rose Parade and Jeff asked me to include it in the newsletter: Paul, the SOI Club member sending this also attached two PDF files, a Rose Parade flyer and a document with the heading Why Join SOI for the Rose Parade. If anyone is interested in these files, please contact me and I will them to you. Our RV club has planned and conducted the Rose Parade Rally for the last 37 years. We would like to invite your club s members to join us for this bucket list event. If your chapter would like to reserve spots as a group for your members and collect the money, we can provide you a special Chapter price of $2195. Our event is very inclusive and includes, Coach Transportation to all events, 9 catered and restaurant meals and a New Year s Eve party with an open bar and a live band. I am including information on why our rally will provide the greatest experience for your members. If you reserve over 10 sites we can provide one site at no charge, as long as that couple is willing to work with us as staff for the group. We also have an incentive program for any clubs/chapters that refer their members to our web site for reservations. They just need to put your Chapter's name in the referral block and we will provide the Chapter a $50 referral fee, per couple after they complete the rally. A great way to provide some additional funds for your club. Hoping to find water, he hurried toward the mirage, only to find a very frail little old Jewish man standing at a small makeshift display rack - selling ties. The Taliban terrorist asked, "Do you have water? The Jewish man replied, "I have no water. Would you like to buy a tie? They are only $5." The Taliban shouted hysterically, "Idiot Infidel! I do not need such an over-priced western adornment - I spit on your ties. I need water! "Sorry, I have none - just ties - pure silk - and only $5." "Pahh! A curse on your ties, I should wrap one around your scrawny little neck and choke the life out of you, but I must conserve my energy and find water!" "Okay," said the little old Jewish man, it does not matter that you do not want to buy a tie from me or that you hate me, threaten my life and call me infidel. I will show you that I am bigger than any of that. If you continue over that hill to the east for about two miles, you will find a restaurant. It has the finest food and all the icecold water you need...go In Peace! Cursing him again, the desperate Taliban staggered away over the hill. Several hours later, he crawled back, almost dead and gasped, "They won't let me in without a tie! In a recent survey carried out for the leading toiletries firm 'Brut', people from Chicago have proved to be the most likely to have had sex in the shower! In the survey, 86% of Chicago's inner city residents (almost all of whom are registered Democrats) say that they have enjoyed sex in the shower. The other 14% said they hadn't been to prison yet. Sort of brings a tear to your eye. Submitted by Michael Cress 3/28/17 I GOT MY CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT YESTERDAY MORNING In the afternoon, I went over to the local Bass Pro Shop to get a small 9mm handgun for home/personal protection. When I was ready to pay for the pistol and ammo, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me." Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amok, I did just as she had instructed. When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card reader!!! As an intelligent senior citizen I do not get flustered often, but this time it took me a while to get my pants back on. I've been asked to shop elsewhere. They need to make their instructions to seniors a little more clear. I still don't think I looked that bad! Just need to wear underwear more often. Newsletter 8
