1 KOMFORT KRUISERS April 2018 East Shore RV Park, San Dimas. Wagon Masters Sharon C. Jaimie L. & Rich McD. Maryn L. Helpers: Rosie O. & Jay R. The following is a compilation of reports from Maryn and Linda on the weekend. Our thanks to them both for the information. In case it wasn t mentioned why we were missing, five KK couples were on an amazing cruise through the Panama Canal. All but one rig rolled into Lake Puddingstone by Thursday and everyone was greeted with beautiful weather. There was just enough cloud cover to provide a stunning sunset over the lake. A group of folks caravanned down to the Pomona Fairgrounds where they were having a food truck festival. We had a choice of food from about a dozen trucks. There was a good variety for everyone. Some of the food provided was: Baby Badass Burger from the Shark Tank, Mexican, Thai, Crepes, Mediterranean and BBQ. Jack and Linda C. had crepes and then split a hamburger. To top it off we had a Apple/Boysenberry Cobbler that we shared with our friends at our table. There was also a Kettle corn booth and a beer booth. The food was delicious. A number of others stayed at the campground and enjoyed a BBQ. Friday provided us with another good weather day. Consistent with the theme Lazy Daze, the day was filled with relaxation and visiting. Badminton, Ring Toss, Bocce Ball, Croquet and Ladder Ball games were scattered throughout the grass area. Ten golfers were MIA as they battled NOT to win the Horses Ass Trophy! Dinner was a wonderful potluck with the wagonmasters providing Bubba s Sweet Onion burgers. Jim R. Jim McP., Steve P,., and Rich McD filled the role of professional barbecuers. There wasn t a potato salad in sight and no one went away hungry. Visiting around the fire followed complete with a skunk sighting and smelling! A beautiful view of Lake Puddingstone Enjoying the view or sleeping? A gorgeous Puddingstone sunset continued on page 3 Newsletter 1

New business included a discussion of the upcoming election. Trish N., Adrian A. and Kaye R. make up the nominating committee. Voting will occur in September. Members are encouraged to run and can self-nominate. People played games and visited after the meeting and enjoyed the beautiful setting, and some of the women went shopping (what else is new). Dinner was another potluck with tri-tip steaks and honey barbecue wings provided by the wagonmasters. Linda counted at least six potatoe salads. Uh oh, they may go the same way the beans did. Persona non gratis. LOL Another fire after dinner sans skunk. A number of people commented on how much they enjoyed this laid-back event. People enjoyed the leisurely morning. No one seemed to miss the breakfast nor the clubhouse. And we were fortunate with the weather! Sunday we bid farewell to our friends and wished everyone safe travels Thanks again to Linda and Maryn for their input. I tried my best to incorporate everything (with a few editorial quips). 4 THE REPAIR, OR LACK OF REPAIR This is a new column and we welcome you to submit your story on the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding your experiences having repairs made to your motorhome. Wow! Can you believe it? Our motorhome turned one year young during our Panama Canal cruise. Just prior to our cruise, I called Auto and RV Specialists in Upland to perform some repairs which Mike Thompson (Colton) had botched. I explained to them we would be leaving on a 15 day cruise and wondered if I could get an appointment to bring it in before the cruise. I had already called two other RV repair places and been told they couldn t get it in until June or July. Much to my surprise, they said I could bring it in the next day on March 20th. what had been done. A total of 5 problems had been completed. All the personnel at the facility were professional, courteous, and competent. Great people, highly recommend. After Bakersfield, Richard I. had to have his motorhome towed to Majestic RV in Thousand Oaks. Parts that were repaired are : coolant temperature sensor, camshaft sensor plus fluids. He recommends them to anyone. Also, Jim R. recommends Redlands RV. He was impressed with their knowledge and service. On Friday, March 30 during our transit through the Canal, I noticed a voic asking me to call which I did. They had some questions regarding my TV cable input problem. Although I forgot to ask them, the other repairs had already been completed at that point. The day after we arrived home, I called them to see when I could pick it up. They responded I could pick it up anytime, just call them an hour before we got there so they would have it ready. Upon arrival the technician went through each problem and explained Playing bocce ball A friendly game of horseshoes More bocce ball Newsletter 4

6 J O K E R S A R E W I L D Submitted by Michael Cress, 01/11/18 The elderly priest, speaking to the younger priest, said, ''You had a good idea to replace the first four pews with plush bucket theater seats. It worked like a charm. The front of the church always fills first now.'' The young priest nodded, and the old priest continued, ''And you told me adding a little more beat to the music would bring young people back to church, so I supported you when you brought in that rock'n'roll gospel choir. Now our services are consistently packed to the balcony.'' ''Thank you, Father,'' answered the young priest. ''I am pleased that you are open to the new ideas of youth.'' ''All of these ideas have been well and good,'' said the elderly priest, ''But I'm afraid you've gone too far with the drive-thru confessional.'' ''But, Father,'' protested the young priest, ''My confessions and donations have nearly doubled since I began that!'' ''Yes,'' replied the elderly priest, ''and I appreciate that. But the flashing neon sign, 'Toot 'n Tell or Go to Hell' cannot stay on the church roof!" Submitted by Terry, 2/03/18 How to get to heaven from Ireland-A true story from an Irish Sunday School teacher I was testing children in my Dublin Sunday school class to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven. I asked them, "If I sold my house and car, had a big garage sale and gave all the money to the church, would that get me into heaven?" "No!" the children answered. Again the answer was "No!" "If I gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband faithfully, would that get me into heaven?" Again they all answered "No!" I was just bursting with pride for them. I continued, "Then how do I get into heaven?" A little boy shouted out: "YUV GOTTA BE FOOKIN' DEAD!" The Irish are a sensitive people. Brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it? Submitted by Gary H., 2/20/18 Bubba and Billy Bubba and Billy Joe were on vacation, walking downtown, window shopping, and they see a sign on a store which reads, "Suits $5.99 each, shirts $1.99 each, trousers $2.49 each. Bubba says to his pal, "Billy Joe, Look here! We could buy a whole gob of these, take m back to Alabama, sell 'em and make a fortune. Just let me do the talkin', 'cause if they hear your accent, they might think we're ignorant, and not wanna sell that stuff to us. Now, I'll talk in a slow Texas drawl so's they don't know we is from Alabama." They go in and Bubba says with his best fake Texas drawl, I'll take 50 of them suits at $5.99, 100 of them there shirts at $1.99, 50 pairs of them there trousers at $2.49. I'll back up my pickup and..." "The owner of the shop interrupts, "Y'all from Alabama, ain't ya?" "Well...yeah," says a surprised Bubba. "How come y'all knowed that?" "Because this is a Dry-Cleaners." "If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the grass, and kept everything tidy, would that get me into heaven?" Newsletter 6

7 Submited by Terry W., 3/1/18 I saw a poor old lady fall over today on the ice! At least I presume she was poor - she only had $1.20 in her purse. My girlfriend thinks that I'm a stalker. Well, she's not exactly my girlfriend, yet. Went for my routine checkup today and everything seemed to be going fine until he stuck his index finger up my butt! Do you think I should change dentists? I was explaining to my wife last night that when you die you get reincarnated but must come back as a different creature. She said she would like to come back as a cow. I said, "You're obviously not listening." The wife has been missing a week now. Police said to prepare for the worst. So, I went to the thrift shop to get all of her clothes back. At the Senior Citizens Center they had a contest the other day. I lost by one point: The question was: Where do women mostly have curly hair? Apparently the correct answer was Africa! Who knew? One of the other questions that I missed was to name one thing commonly found in cells. It appears that Mexicans is not the correct answer either. A buddy of mine has just told me he's getting it on with his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a mustache." Being a modest man, when I checked into my hotel on a recent trip, I said to the lady at the registration desk, "I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled." To which she replied, "No, it's regular porn, you sick bastard." awful gas prices are going to go even higher. The second blonde replies, "Won't affect me, I always put in just $10 worth. "One day, Jill's husband came home from the office and found her sobbing convulsively. "I feel terrible," she told him. "I was pressing your suit and I burned a big hole in the seat of your trousers." "Forget it," consoled her husband. "Remember that I bought an extra pair of trousers for that suit." "Yes, and it's lucky for you that you did," said Jill, drying her eyes. "I used them to patch the hole." Two blondes were walking down the road and the first blonde said, "Look at that dog with one eye!" The other blonde covers one of her eyes and says, "Where?" A blonde decided to redecorate her bedroom. She wasn't sure how many rolls of wallpaper she would need, but she knew that her blonde friend from next door had recently done the same job and the two rooms were identical in size. "Buffy," she said, "How many rolls of wallpaper did you buy for your bedroom?" "Ten," said Buffy. So the blonde bought the ten rolls of paper and did the job, but she had 2 rolls leftover. "Buffy," she said. "I bought ten rolls of wallpaper for the bedroom, but I've got 2 leftover!" "Yes," said Buffy. "So did I." Submitted by Michael Cress, 03/19/18 Two blondes are filling up at a gas station and the first blonde says to the second, "I bet these Newsletter 7
