1 KOMFORT KRUISERS Feb Golden Village Palms, Hemet For those who arrived Thursday, (and this time we did), we all went out to a nice Mexican restaurant across the street from the park. Friday morning found us in the club house for donuts and coffee and we received the first two of our cards for poker. Everyone left to pursue their own pursuits for the day. We met back up in the club house for appetizers. Afterwards some of us spent the night around a nice campfire where many childhood stories were swapped. Saturday morning saw us enjoying Mickey D s and then we all stayed for our meeting. Jeff held it all together even though he was missing most of his officers (Jerry was there). Guest were Phil and Diane Chitwood. Eileen and Wayne Norwood were voted in as new members. Afterwards we all went our separate ways. Dinner was Lasagna and Penne pasta. The 50/50 was won by Russ and Barb. The wagon masters, Adrienne, Bill, Lois and Daryl put on a great poker night (I m not saying that just because we won). Jeff was the overall big winner. He told me later he never wins so I guess he was making up for it. The flop was exciting and many came close to winning. Everyone was invited to a campfire and the circle was expanded many times as more and more joined in. Sunday breakfast was in the club house and it was the leftovers from Friday. There were many hugs and goodbyes as half of us were leaving. Many had Super Bowl parties to get to after arriving home. It s always nice to see old friends who haven t been around for a while. So with many hugs and words of farewell, we left to face the STRONG winds. I hope everyone made it continued on page 3. UPDATE; In the ongoing saga of pinochle, the boys were on a long winning streak. Then it turned (the worm) and the girls were winning. It turned (that pesky worm) in Hemet big time. I dealt (yes me!!) Gary a double run, aces around and a double pinochle!! In the next game Terry dealt himself a double run and I ended up with a double run during another hand. We should have gone to Soboba after that!! Now Kathy wants her double run!! Jeff and all his loot (yes, that includes you Trish). We apologize in advance for any errors you may find and yes Martha we know you re married to Dave. I guess you all want this newsletter published because no one has complained about errors. 5 Bill & Adriane Bill & Jeanne Bob & Barbara Cheryl & Ken Cindy & John Daryl & Lois Diane & Phil Eileen &Wayne Sharon & Irwin Recipe of the Month Submitted by Gary & Kathy Huff Cheese Cake Diamond Recipe Troy & Lois Topping Mixture 5 Tab. butter 1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese 1/3 cup sugar ½ cup sugar 1 cup flour 1 egg ¼ cup walnuts 1 tsp. vanilla 2 Tab. milk 1 Tab. lemon juice Cream butter and sugar, add flour, nuts and mix well, set aside 1 cup for the topping. Press remainder in a square pan (greased and floured). Bake at 350 for 13 min. Blend mixture sugar and cream cheese until smooth. Add egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat well; pour over bottom crust once removed from oven. Sprinkle on reserved topping and return to oven for about 25 min. cool and chill. Cut into diamond shaped pieces once chilled. Newsletter 5

6 J OKERS ARE WILD Submitted by Michael Cress A private jet arrives at Heathrow international airport and Donald Trump strides to a waiting limousine which drives him to a warm and dignified reception from the Queen. From there, they are driven in a 1934 Bentley to the edge of central London where they change to a magnificent 17th century carriage hitched to six white horses. They continue on towards Buckingham Palace waving to the thousands of cheering Britons; all is going well. Suddenly, the right rear horse lets fly with the most horrendous earth-shattering fart ever heard in the British Empire. The coach shakes, the smell is atrocious and both passengers in the carriage must use perfume-dipped handkerchiefs over their nose, but they do their best to ignore the incident. The Queen turns to Trump saying, "Mr. Trump, please accept my regrets. I am sure you understand there are some things that even a Queen cannot control." Trump, with his usual diplomatic aplomb, replied, "Your Majesty, do not give the matter another thought. Until you mentioned it, I thought it was one of the horses." Submitted by Terry Wood A dog lover, whose dog was a female and "in heat', agreed to look after her neighbor's male dog while the neighbors were on vacation. She had a large house and believed that she could keep the two dogs apart. However, as she was drifting off to sleep she heard awful howling and moaning sounds, rushed downstairs and found the dogs locked together in obvious pain and unable to disengage, as so frequently happens when dogs mate. Unable to separate them, and perplexed as to what to do next, although it was late, she called the vet, who answered in a very grumpy voice. Having explained the problem to him, the vet said, "Hang up the phone and place it down alongside the dogs. I will then call you back and the noise of the ringing will make the male lose his erection and he will be able to withdraw." Do you really think that will work?" she asked. "Just worked for me," he replied. Submitted by Gary Huff Frank and Dianne were in a local shopping center just before Christmas. Dianne suddenly noticed that Frank was missing, and as they had a lot to do, she called him on is cell phone. Dianne asked, "Frank, where are you? You know that we have lots to do." Frank said, "Do you remember the jewelry store we went into about 10 years ago, and you fell in love with a diamond necklace? I could not afford it at the time, and I said that one day I would get it for you." Little tears started to flow down Dianne's cheek, and she got all choked up. "Yes, I do remember that shop," she replied. "Well, I'm in the Hooters next to that." Submitted by Michael Cress Avocados and milk. A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk and if they have avocados, get 6. A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk. The wife asks him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?" He replied, "They had avocados." Note: If you're a woman, I'm sure you're going back to read it again! Men will get it the first time.
