1 Southern InterClub Skating Council Volume I, Issue 4, July, 2006 Advance Discounted All-Event Tickets Now On Sale Atlanta FSC To Host 2007 Eastern Sectional Championships The Atlanta FSC will host the 2007 Eastern Sectional Championships on November at The Cooler in Alpharetta, GA. The top finishers in Novice through Senior singles, pairs and dance will advance to the 2007 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships to be held in Spokane, WA on January 21 28, Advance discounted all-event tickets, which include all practice sessions and competition events, are now available for purchase at a cost of $20.00 (order form attached). This special price will be offered to Southern InterClub Skating Council members through October 6. Expected to qualify for this competition are five SICSC skaters: Jamie Kim, Atlanta FSC (Senior ladies), 2006 Eastern Sectionals Junior ladies (9th place), 2006 South Atlantic Regionals Junior Ladies (3rd place), 2005 South Atlantic Regionals Novice Ladies (5th place), and 2003 South Atlantic Regionals Novice Ladies (5th place). Alexander Zahradnicek Georgia FSC Patron Sponsorships, Program Advertising Opportunities The Atlanta FSC is offering individual patron sponsorships in the minimum amount of $ These funds will be used to defray the costs of hosting the event, including ice time, competitors gifts, and coaches and officials hospitality and transportation. Patron sponsors will be acknowledged in the official program and will receive two one-day tickets and a certificate of appreciation. The club is also including business advertising in the official program, which will be delivered to hundreds of fans, competitors and coaches. This forum is an excellent opportunity to introduce your products or services to an affluent base of prospects. Advertisers may also distribute materials at the registration desk. Both of the forms are attached. Volunteers Needed! If you are interested in volunteering, please submit the attached form by October 31. Volunteers will receive a ticket for the day(s) worked pending seating availability. All volunteers must be 15+ years of age to serve on Tuesday through Friday. Adults only (18+) may serve on Saturday. 8 2007 EASTERN SECTIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS VOLUNTEER FORM The 2007 Eastern Sectional Championships, a qualifying event sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating, will be hosted by the Atlanta Figure Skating Club on November 14-18, The top skaters from three regional championships in the 17-state Eastern Section will compete in senior, junior, and novice levels in 24 events in four disciplines: ladies singles, men's singles, pairs, and ice dancing. The top competitors from this competition will advance to the 2007 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships to be held in Spokane, Washington on January Please note that volunteer service does not include admission to all events. Volunteers will receive one ticket valid only for the day they work at the event if seating is available. We do expect limited availability of Saturday event tickets, so we strongly encourage you to purchase discounted advance all-event tickets to ensure admission. All vounteers must purchase tickets for days not worked to gain access to the secured arenas. Practice ice sessions in the red rink will not require a ticket. If you can donate your time and talent to this competition, please complete the form below. You will be contacted by the appropriate committee chair. 10 2007 EASTERN SECTIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS November 14-18, 2006 PATRON SPONSORSHIP FORM The Atlanta Figure Skating Club is the 10th largest member club of U.S. Figure Skating, the governing body for the sport, which is recognized as such by the U.S. Olympic Committee and the International Skating Union. More than 40 skaters and officials have represented the Atlanta FSC in both national and international competitions from Los Angeles to Australia, and the club is home to several officials who currently serve as directors or on national policy-making committees. We have hosted six major competitions: the 1976, 1985, and 2000 South Atlantic Regional Championships, the 1980 and 2004 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and the 1992 Skate America international competition. On the eve of our 50th anniversary, we now proudly announce that we will be hosting the 2007 Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championships on November 14-18, 2006 at The Cooler in Alpharetta, GA. The 2007 Eastern Sectional Championships is a qualifying event sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating.
