3 BIG SIR S COMMENTS Branch 112 Annual Dues For 2019 we would like to change the method for collecting annual dues. Instead of passing the gold pan at each meeting, we re asking every member to contribute $15 for the year. Our treasurer Mike Decker will track these voluntary dues payments. In 2018 we averaged 61% attendance at our luncheons. That means roughly 39% of our members do not contribute on a monthly basis to support our branch. As might be obvious, our money on hand has slowly declined through the year from $1, to $1, Knowing the caliber of our membership, I m sure that everyone wants to pay their fair share. Beginning in January, we are asking members to bring an extra $15 to the luncheon to cover their annual dues. If you forget, don t worry just catch up with us at the February luncheon. New members in 2019 will be assessed a pro-rated amount based on 10 luncheon/meetings (we don t count the Ladies Day events). Members who pay their annual dues before or during the January luncheon will receive a FREE raffle ticket. We are raffling off two $50 dollar gift certificates for Scott s Seafood Restaurant on the river. Must be present at the luncheon to win. You have the option of mailing in a check payable to Sir s Branch 112 to Mike Decker at 7831 Ahl Way, Fair Oaks CA I m sure it would ease Mike s job of accounting for dues, if many of us would mail in a check before the January luncheon. We reached an important milestone in 2018 getting our membership back to 100. With everyone s involvement, we can go even higher in We want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you at the January 3 luncheon. Mel Buzzard Incoming Big Sir Tom Beigel Outgoing Big Sir
4 Little Sir Comments Well, another year has come and gone. Seems faster every year doesn t it? We finished the year with a wonderful Ladies Day Luncheon at Red Hawk Casino. We had a packed house, had some entertainment (?) with ¾ of the Singing Sirs, and spent some time honoring one of our special members, Herb Powell, for his 90th birthday. Many thanks to Larry and his crew for another fine job arranging this event. Our golfers are taking a short break while the bowlers and fishermen continue as we finally get a little wetter and cooler weather. C mon, Spring, I m ready!! This is my final article as Little Sir as we welcome Michael Hughes as our new Little Sir in January. I have served on the board for many years now with the last 2 years as Little Sir and want to thank everyone who has helped to make my job easier. Timely suggestions for speakers, etc. has been a big help and I have appreciated it more than you know. The kind comments and helpful suggestions along the way have had a positive impact on me. So thank you, one and all! Little Sir Joke of the Day More Questions: Why is it that no matter what color of bubble bath you use, the bubbles are always white? Is there ever a day that mattresses are NOT on sale? Why is it that no plastic garbage bag will open from the end you first try? How do those dead bugs get into those closed light fixtures? Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that s falling off the table, you always manage to knock something else over? Len Honeycutt

The "Singing Sirs" serenaded Herb with the Air Force song, "Off We Go Into the Wild, Blue Yonder" to commemorate his outstanding career. Herb Powell Senior Sir The Singing Sirs Rapturous Audience
