This time last year I was writing my first Tidbits as Little Sir and now it's time for Big Sir Tidbits ended on a great note for SIRs 150. Our annual ladies Christmas Luncheon was a terrific success. The entertainment, food and service at the Dante Club was enjoyed by everyone who Big Sir Fred Teron attended. Thanks once again to Jerry and Don for another event well done! This year will be a challenge for me to keep up our membership goals. I am depending on your help to bring in new members to meet our 10% increase. This translates to 1 new member a month. I know, due to our anemic economy, many people are retiring later than they originally planned. So keep SIR in mind as you connect with friends whom you think might enjoy our club. I only hope that I can serve my office as well as my predecessors. I'm looking forward to a fun year as I hope you are as well. Happy New Year to you all, and I hope to see each of you at our January luncheon. As the first of January fast approaches, I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and will have a Happy New Year. I begin my journey as your new Little Sir with apprehension as to what will be expected of me. However, I am sure that I will get plenty of guidance from Fred Teron and others. Little Sir John Rizzardo For our January meeting, Fred, in his last act as Little Sir has arranged to have Patrick Foy of the Dept. of Fish and Game speak. He will speak about new programs within the department, including its new program which focuses heavily on catching poachers. Lots of conversation, good food, and a big drawing for many gifts for the ladies and for the fishermen. Guy Brown won the Fisherman of the Year award. John Ramsey is the 2012 Head Hooker. We fish Camanche Lake on January 10th and Amador Lake on the 17th. Pray for rain! Happy New Year!! Weekly Tournament Play Every Friday except the last Friday of the month. Sign-up when you show up. First place was Dorothy Odehnal, second place was Charlie Martin, third place was Lee Peterson. Golfer of the Year Brent Soulis Brent & Skeeter Regan had a running battle for most of the year, but Brent pulled ahead on the last day. Sandbagger of the Month - Cordova Norm & Marjorie Green Congratulations to Glenn Campbell for his eagle 2 on hole number 10 on his way to a net 8 under par 55. Honorable mentions to Brent Soulis, John Ramos and Chuck Reed, all came in with net 58s 5 under par at the last tournament of the year. NCGA Dues 10 members have yet to pay the 2012 NCGA dues. The cost is $36 to renew and $46 to join. Check the web site SIR150.com to see if you have, or have not, done so. NCGA has changed the cutoff date to Jan 14. Those members who will be attending the annual golf luncheon at the Dante Club on January 11 will have the last opportunity to avoid being put on inactive status or being deleted for lack of interest. 6 2011 Christmas Party We would like to thank everyone who attended our SIR 150 Christmas Party. We all had a great time. We had 84 members and guests at this year s function. Everyone enjoyed the social hour, and the music from the entertainment was great. The Dante Club s atmosphere, service and food was outstanding. Using Dante Club as an alternative venue proved to be a great success. The ladies all received small gifts again this year. For those of you that were unable to attend this year, Don and I are looking forward to seeing you at the party next year. We are in the process of sending out questionnaire to get feedback to use in our planning for next year. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. We would like the Christmas luncheon to be a can t miss event for all members during the holiday season. Don and Jerry Attention Sir Branch #150 golfers! They had great seats right behind their team s bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked it. Oh, I really liked it, she replied, especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn t understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents. Dumbfounded, her boyfriend asked, What do you mean? Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was... Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback! I m like...helloooooo? It s only 25 cents!!!! REQUIRED ATTEN- DANCE - A member who misses three (3) consecutive meetings or who attends less than six (6) regular meetings of the last twelve (12) luncheon meetings may be notified, by letter, of the pending termination of his membership in SIR.
