These bulls HAVE NOT had their hooves trimmed, allowing you to observe their hooves in their natural condition. The bulls in this catalogue were selected from a group of 139 bull calves.

2 Welcome to the 23rd Annual Rodgers Red Angus Bull Sale at Bow Slope Shipping in Brooks, Alberta!! This will be our 37th consecutive year supplying Red Angus genetics to the livestock industry. Over the past 37 years fertility, calving ease, performance and quality have been the basis of our breeding philosophy. Our goals remain the same, to produce seed stock that are Range Raised for Range Use. Our cow herd are run like commercials, once calved they are turned back out on grass and allowed to develop on their own. We DO NOT creep feed because we feel we get a more accurate WPDA. These bulls HAVE NOT had their hooves trimmed, allowing you to observe their hooves in their natural condition. The bulls in this catalogue were selected from a group of 139 bull calves. We feel it is very important to cull hard allowing you to choose from the best genetics possible in our herd. These bulls were fed a growing ration aimed at 3.00 lbs/day to identify the bulls with superior performance traits but still not compromising the longevity of the bulls. This year the bulls averaged 2.98 lb/day. Fertility!! The performance test was completed on February 5, Dr. Rob Stables, Bow Valley Veterinary Clinic, semen tested the bulls on February 20, Better than half of the bulls were under 1 year of age when semen tested, the results of the test shows early maturity in these bulls. You will find the scrotal measurements in the catalogue will increase 1-3 cm by sale day due to the age of these bulls when tested.
