2 14 March 2019 Kia ora Koutou The competition is on! Your child should have brought home some information about signing up to their online portfolio, Seesaw! The first class to have all students and whanau signed up, wins an awesome prize for their class. Seesaw is a great way to keep informed on your child's learning at Tamatea Intermediate School. You can receive regular notifications when your child posts new work and even give feedback from your mobile phone! PAID UNION MEETING: There is a union meeting for teachers next Thursday (21 st March) at 2pm. This will NOT affect our students, there will be enough staff here to continue school for the afternoon with the usual 3pm finish. The only change will be that lunch is pm. CHOCOLATE STORM: Many thanks for your support with our chocolate sales. We had some very helpful students assisting us in getting ready for the big launch of our major fundraiser. Many thanks to Joshua Moefiti, Noah O Brien, Rico Kara and Taniora Kingi for opening up the boxes and setting up all the chocolates ready for our students to collect last Wednesday. This was a big task and done really efficiently, great job guys! (photo front page) Please continue to bring in the money to The Permorming Arts Room (Rm 16) BEFORE school. If you are struggling to sell your boxes please bring back what you can t sell (all in good order) to the office. SWIMMING SPORTS! We held the swimming sports last week with some fantastic results and lots of fun, well done to all students who competed to earn points for your House. Congratulations to: Year 7 1st place 2 nd place 3 rd place Girls Kate Hurley Maggie Drain Shylar Evans Boys Bailey Porter Jayden Parker Camryn Gooch Year 8 1st place 2 nd place 3 rd place Girls Reed Smith Penelope Fowler Athena Pattison Boys Khan Smith Declan Thorogood Sacha Pickering
3 ATHLETICS AT MAREWA PARK ON THURSDAY 22 nd MARCH (Next week): A notice has been given to students detailing the following information: Students need to be at Marewa Athletics Track, Marewa Park, Herrick St at 8.40am. Students go straight to the park, they DO NOT go to school. Students will be dismissed from the park at 2.40pm. The school bus students will be dropped off and picked up at the park. Bay View bus students are the only students who will be brought to school and then transported from school to the park and vice versa at the end of the day. All other students that travel on a public bus will have to make alternative arrangements in order to get to and from Marewa Park on time. PE uniform must be worn, house colour props over the uniform are fine. Students need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle. Whanau are more than welcome to join us for a fun day! If the weather forecast is poor an App will be sent out early in the morning to let you know if it is a normal school day. Please send a text to Vicki on if your child is absent.
