The Sunrise Coyotes Football Club is a community based football program that offers competitive, tackle football and cheerleading for boys and girls ages In our inaugural year, we put 106 children on the field supported by over 30 adults. As we begin the 2016 season, we look forward to offering the community another great season of football! Welcome! Happy New Year, Coyotes! As January is nearly finished, and our planning for the 2016 season is Christmas Break U of M Camp The off season started very early for 12 of our Coyotes who took part in Football Manitoba s grassroots fundamental camp at the University of Manitoba. 2 Christmas Break U of M Camp (continued) Dylan Bax Sal Tavares For three days, our Coyotes worked on their fundamental football skills with some of the best coaches in Manitoba. Highlights of the camp included CFL players speaking to the players, Francesca and Kylee being recruited by the Manitoba Fearless Women s team and lots of very dumb English impersonations in Coach Walls truck (Johnny Lepp). Football Manitoba President, Brian Marks, commented on how the Coyote players ran to every station while other players walked. Great job representing us, kids! Francesca Johnson fires off the line. Sunrise Coyotes Family FUN DAY at the Springfield Library Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 20th as the Sunrise Coyotes and the Springfield Public Library combine forces to bring our community a Family Fun Day from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Besides fiddlers, pea soup, bannock, story telling, and a football toss game, join us at 1:00 pm for some flag football in the snow!

3 Upcoming Camps Quarterback Camp The Sunrise Coyotes are proud to announce that we will once again hold our QuarterBack Camp during the months of February and March. This year, however, the focus will be on all aspects of the passing game, including throwing, receiving and defending the pass. Each session will be run by Coaches Andrew, Tom, Marcel and Jordan with the newest Fearless QB, Coach Kim, making a guest appearance. 5 Looking for a Few Good Men (or Women) In the next month, the Sunrise Coyotes will be hosting an information night for any adult interested in learning how to coach. If interested, the Coyotes will provide mentorship and pay for your certification through Football Manitoba. Information sessions will be held in Oakbank, Beausejour and Lac du Bonnet stay tuned for dates. Speaking of Coaching The Sunrise Coyotes coaching staff has two exciting announcements: Coach Tom has been invited, by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, to join six other Winnipeg area football coaches, as their guest at the Glazier Football clinic held in Minneapolis. The Glazier clinic is considered one of the premier coaching clinics with both professional and American university coaches presenting. Secondly, both Coach Andrew and Coach Tom have been invited to present at the University of North Dakota coaches clinic on March 24 and 25th. Coach Andrew will be presenting on the intricacies of the Canadian passing game and Coach Tom will be presenting on the differences between American and Canadian football and how that shapes coaching strategy. Just imagine this in lots of snow! Girls Football The Sunrise Coyotes are pleased to announce that we will once again be entering a girls football team into the MGFA. Building on last year s success, we are hoping to have both a junior (ages 9-12) and senior team (ages 13-16). Informational meetings and registration dates TBA. Last year, nine Coyote coaches attended this clinic contact Coach Tom at info@sunrisecoyotes.com if you are a Coyote coach and want to attend again this year. The club pays for the registration and subsidizes the hotel rooms. Midget Football We would like to announce a pre-season Midget meeting for Saturday, February 27th at the Sun Gro Centre in Beausejour at 2:00 pm. Graduating Bantams and last years midgets are invited to come out for free pizza and custom t-shirts, to hear about the upcoming spring and regular seas on. A Team Snap invite will be coming your way shortly stay tuned and hope to see all of our Coyote midgets there Sunrise Coyotes Girls Football Team. Midgets look forward to a new year.
