3 about heartland soccer Heartland SocceR association operates the largest tournaments in the Midwest and is recognized as one of the largest and most competitive youth soccer leagues in the United States. The leagues accept players of all skill levels including recreational and premier. Each year, over 170 different soccer clubs compete at Heartland with nearly 1,200 teams competing at all age levels each league season, and over 4,000 competing in tournaments. Many age groups have up to 9 divisions with at least 9 teams playing in each division. The sheer number of teams allow players and teams the opportunity to compete against similarly skilled teams at all ages. While the majority of teams are comprised of Kansas and Missouri youth soccer teams, teams travel from the surrounding region to play league competition. Additionally, Heartland Tournaments draw teams from over 16 states including Texas, Minnesota, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. Currently, both league and tournaments are held on synthetic soccer turf at the world class soccer facilities of Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Swope Soccer Village. Grass games are played at Heritage Soccer Park and Lone Elm Soccer Park.
