The Recreation Department manages and maintains the Municipal Beach, the Crete Memorial Civic Center, the City Recreation Center, as well as seventeen parks and open spaces throughout the city. To the Plattsburgh Community: The New Year often brings new promises and a chance to hit the reset button on any variety of personal wellness goals. New Year s resolutions are easily made, but are not as easily kept. Family priorities, work, and the complexities of life often get in the way of the things that we want to accomplish for ourselves. Still, continue to make those promises! And, continue to make that effort to achieve your personal goals. Every effort you make for yourself helps you get one step closer to your goals! Please take a look at the pages of this guide and see if there is anything our department can help you with. With sports programs, facilities, and classes for novices and experts alike, there are many easy opportunities to fulfill your resolutions, meet new people, and have fun at the same time. For more quality time at our facilities, consider an add-on membership for your spouse where both of you can workout together, or bring your children to Family Fun Night at the City Recreation Center on Saturday nights.
