Iets kleins oor Ponta se kompetisie: Inskrywings het mooi ingekom met 10 bote 3 jetski s. Inskrywings het ongelukkig klaar gesluit. Daar is ± R50,000 se borge gekry in kontant Al die aandetes is geborg en baie dankie aan al die persone wat dit borg. Ek dink dit is n rekord borgskap wat die klub nog gekry het. Van die ouens maak reg om al Sondag die 2de Oktober tot die 9de te gaan al is die kompetisie net van die Donderdag tot die Saterdag. 1

Please remember to fill in the indemnity forms and bring them along Please note that it now obligatory to have a VHF radio on your boat. You will also need to provide a licence for the Radio itself. I am trying to organise a Radio operator course locally, but have not had any success. There is how ever a crowd in Ballito Bay that offers accredited training. Please let me know if you are interested 8

All welcome. Saturday 22 October, 7:30am for 8am at Klipkopje Dam. Limited space, booking only! 8 boats maximum. "First come first served." Friday Tutorial: John Minnie, Technical Manager at Lowrance South Africa, will be in-store discussing the latest offerings from their respective brands including Lawrence s Gen 3 HDS units, the new Lowrance Elite-5 and Elite-7 Ti touchscreen fish finder/chart plotters, Lowrance s versatile Totals can transducer, Lowrance HOOK models available in 4-, 5-, 7- and 9-inch screen sizes, Lowrance Sonic hub 2, and Water Wolf HD cameras. On top of all of this, he will be answering all of your technical questions regarding their product lines. Saturday On-water Instruction: As a follow up to the Friday night talk, John Minnie will be assisting a limited number of clients on their own boats and with their own Lowrance units, and covering things like settings and interpreting what you re seeing on screen. Please note that a maximum of 8 boats will be booked into the on-the-water instruction with John on Saturday 22 October! There are no costs involved, but bookings will be made on a first come first served basis. To book, please contact Michael Cronje at ASAP to avoid disappointment. Additional: A limited amount of snacks will be provided for the talk on the Friday night. Please bring your own cooler with drinks along. No food or drinks will be supplied on the Saturday at the dam, so again, please bring along your own food and drinks. Also remember that you will be liable for an entry and launching fee if you re one of the confirmed 8 guests joining us at Klipkopje Dam on the Saturday, unless you re a paid-up LABA member. 10
