2 Information & Schedule What 18th Annual LifeSource Golf Classic in memory of Terri Opp The LifeSource Golf Classic is our annual fundraising event held each September at 3M s Tartan Park Golf Course. Terri Opp was a young woman who died while waiting for a heart transplant, and over the past 17 years, more than $1,000,000 has been raised to support education about donation and transplantation in her memory. No problem from 2:00 4:00 p.m. work on taking your game to a new level as you join Tartan Park s Golf Professional, Jeff Keating, in a group Golf Clinic. 11:00 am Jeff will tailor this clinic to the participants from etiquette and fundamentals to putting, chipping and full swing irons and woods. At 4:00 p.m., after a few more practice swings at the driving range, come on over to Pavilion #2 where we will have wine, beer and a picnic dinner and you can bid on fantastic silent auction items, including golf outings where you ll show off your newfound skills! 4:30 pm Happy hour, silent auction, dinner, raffle prize drawings, $75 registration includes clinic and dinner for one. 3 About LifeSource About Terri Opp LifeSource is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and healing lives through organ and tissue donation, serving more than six million people in communities across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. In addition to facilitating the gifts of donation, LifeSource educates the community about the critical need for organ and tissue donation and encourages the people in our communities to register as donors. Programs made possible as a result of event support include: Public Education and Community Events Driver s License Office Outreach High School Programs Media Relations Terri Opp was a young woman who died while waiting for a heart transplant. Born with a congenital heart defect, she was just five days old when she had her first heart surgery. Despite these health challenges, Terri was a vibrant, active young person. In her mid-twenties Terri became ill, requiring several hospitalizations and, ultimately, being placed on the transplant waiting list. Sadly, Terri died in June of 1996, at the age of 26, before she could receive the gift she so desperately needed. Though Terri needed the gift of life, she also gave it Terri was a tissue and cornea donor upon her death. Get Involved Contribute Your generous donation of an item, cash, gift certificate or service will be used as silent auction items, contest prizes, and awards for the event. All contributed items must be received by LifeSource by August 20. Please send a registration form along with contributions.
