2 Tuesday 7 May: Departure day We meet mid-afternoon at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg (chat to us at the time of booking if you wish to fly out of Cape Town), for our evening departure on Turkish Airlines Europe s number 1 airline. Wednesday 8 May: After an early morning leg-stretch in Istanbul s brand new and incredible airport, we catch our short connecting flight down to the coastal town of Antalya. Arriving late morning, we ll head to our clifftop hotel overlooking the Mediterranean to check-in and freshen up before we start getting oriented and exploring. With all our rooms sea facing, you ll be sure to enjoy the views along the coastline, across the beautiful bay and of the distant mountains from your balcony. After everyone has had some time to unpack, have a shower or head to the stunning pool for a swim, we head off for a gentle walk around town to get oriented and ensure you re ready to make the most of the week. Thursday 9 May: Today is at leisure, but for those who opted to take it easy after arrival we ll head off on another optional orientation walk getting you settled and ready to make the most of your week in the magical coastal town. 3 Our recommended first stop would be Kaleici, the old town close to the hotel where you ll see sights such as Hadrian s Gate, dating back to Roman times when an emperor visited in 130 AD. To end off the day, we ll head down to the Old Harbour for sunset drinks and dinner at one of the many restaurants and bars overlooking the marina (an old Roman port) and the Mediterranean. Friday 10 May: Today is our first round of golf, and we tee-off at the original golf course in the Belek region the truly magnificent NATIONAL GOLF CLUB in Belek, a short drive from the hotel. Home to variety of Championships over the years, the course is thoughtfully routed across gently rolling terrain and through mature pine and eucapyltus trees, with the Taurus Mountains as a stunning backdrop. 4 The Turkish are known for more than stunning Mosques, belly dancing and Turkish Delight folk dancing is a big part of their culture. One of the must see shows is the Fire of Anatolia show at the superb Aspendos Arena close to town. With 120 performers in the cast, you ll be treated to a spectacle like no other with a mix of Turkish culture, historic folk dance, modern dance and more built of 4000 years of Anatolian civilizations. Alternatively, if you prefer the more modern show, head into town for a belly dancing show with dinner. Saturday 11 May: For those feeling adventurous (and qualified scuba divers), why not check out some of the local dive sites including some statues, planes and even the odd military tank. If you head down the wooden stair case below the hotel pool, you ll find a dive shop in a cave ready to help you with your underwater adventure in the Med. Another adventurous option is to head to the Koprulu Canyon National Park, and to take on the mighty river. 5 Sunday 12 May: No visit to Antalya is complete without taking in the extensive history and visiting the ancient sites of Aspendos and Perge. Perge is an ancient Anatolian city, once the capital of Pamphylia Secunda, dating back to 1000 BC. Aspendos, known for its theatre, is an anicent Greco-Roman city to the North-east of Antalya, dating back to 550 BC or before. You ll see ruins including the theatre, parts of the impressive aquaduct and the basilica. Monday 13 May: We head to the SUENO GOLF CLUB today and take on the Pines Golf Course. One of the two Championship courses at the club, Pines is a long and tough (yet fair) golfing challenge with links style shaping and its natural bunker style and rugged beauty. As often becomes the norm, we re sure you ll head down to the beach or the Old Harbour after golf for sundowners and dinner. For something different, why not consider a sunset boat cruise on the Mediterranean. Apart from the beautiful sunset from on the water and seeing the town from a different angle, just outside town is the Duden Waterfall which really is spectacular to see as it flows into the ocean off the high cliffs. 6 Tuesday 14 May: Today is at leisure perfect for shopping, sightseeing, relaxing next to the pool or on the beach, an extra round of golf or just sitting and watching the world go by while enjoying an Efes beer and some local delights. For something completely different, why not pop in at the Antalya Aquarium - the world s biggest tunnel aquarium, with a tunnel 131m in length and discover some of the local species. Wednesday 15 May: Our third round of golf will be at the ANTALYA GOLF CLUB, the very best golfing complex in the region. The course for our final round is the 6300 yard Pasha Course, which will test you for sure and see how you ve adapted to local designs and conditions. With its flawless greens and numerous water hazards, this is a fun course to play on and will be one to remember for sure. Thursday 16 May: After a late morning checkout, we have some time available for last minute shopping, one more swim in the Med, an early round of optional golf or ticking any missed activities off the to do list. 7 Our flight to Istanbul departs late evening, and after a short leg stretch and some Duty Free shopping it s time for the flight back to SA and time to reflect on the week that was. Only EFT payments are accepted (NO credit card payments). The price of the package is based on a minimum of 20 passengers and a reduction in this number may lead to a price adjustment for the tour package. Deposit and Payment: A deposit of R4500,00 PER PERSON is payable on booking and is not refundable unless in the case of the cancellation of the tour by the tour operators. You are therefore encouraged to take out travel insurance which includes a cancellation clause. A tour package statement will be ed to you approximately 2 months (60-70 days) prior to departure and the full package price is payable within 72 hours (3 days) of presentation. No cancellations can be accepted after 10 weeks (70 days) prior to departure, and the full relevant package price for the tour is payable if cancellations are received after this date. Itinerary: The itinerary details are subject to airline timetable changes, as well as weather and technical influences. Handicaps: All golfers must be able to provide proof of handicap if required by golf clubs while on tour. We may apply the Nomads adjustment system if and when required. Passport, Visas & Health requirements: We provide basic advice to South African passport holders regarding visa requirements. Clients travelling on a passport of a different nationality should check with their embassy or consulate and must make sure they have all the necessary valid travel and health documents to comply with the requirements of the country they are visiting or travelling through. Clients are advised to travel on one passport for the duration of the tour to ensure compliance with the latest travel regulations. All passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled date of return home. Liabilities: The Golf Travel Company and/or their agents, in making arrangements for air and land services, act as agents only and on condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, death, damage, loss, accidental delay or irregularity that may be occasioned by any defect in any vehicle or form of conveyance or mishap at any place of accommodation, or for any reason whatsoever. Travel Insurance: Passengers are advised to have travel insurance for injury, death, accident and medical expenses, enforced pre-tour cancellation and loss of luggage. Changes to bookings: In the event of a change being made to your flight arrangements, including post-tour extensions and breakaways, an additional fee will be charged by the operating airline. Special requests and contact with hotels and airlines: The Golf Travel Company shall forward all special requests received to the relevant hotel and / or airline / golf club when requested, but cannot accept responsibility for non-delivery on the part of the supplier. Under no circumstances may the client make contact in any manner with hotels and airlines as this is expressly forbidden by hotels and airlines in the group booking contract. All requests must be routed via The Golf Travel Company for forwarding to the relevant party. Cancellations and Refunds: No refund can be made for visits, sightseeing, meals, transfers, accommodation, golf or other services included in the tour price which were not utilized. Should the client wish to cancel for whatever reason, The Golf Travel Company must be advised in writing under the signature of the customer. No air tickets will be issued until full and final payment is received and the airline s late ticket issue levy will apply in the event of late payment. Medical Certificate: A doctor s certificate confirming good health will be required for passengers 65 years and older. Golf cars: The Golf Travel Company will book golf cars when requested to do but cannot accept responsibility for availability or restrictions on use on the day due to inclement weather or club restrictions Bookings: The Golf Travel Company reserves the right to decline any booking, at the time it is made, without stating the reason for the nonacceptance of the bookings.
